I hope Embiid is good. I hope all those dudes are good. Then they can move one or two, balance the roster and Philadelphia can have a nice season next year or the year after. Anybody that put up with The Process deserves it.
This makes me mad:
Who exactly was causing these issues last season? Are they still on the team? Why did this happen.

Saric's broken English and supreme confidence/assholeness is going to generate a lot of great quotes this year.

Saric on Embiid: "I never play with someone with that kilograms"

Welp, these quotes from AD kind of explains one reason why I was annoyed with watching the Pels last year, regardless of who was healthy enough to play:

By Tea Go To PostWhere did our bulls fans go…I'm here, somewhere. Debating whether I should waste money on NBA League Pass to watch the Bulls struggle to get the 8th seed.
Aren't you excited?
Also Knicks, glorious knicks.
Cringe.
Yeah, my lineup was right:

Joe Johnson said he knows he probably won't be a starter. Said he's fine with it.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postnah the players were/are trashThe players at media day already said they ain't shit. Said the don't have a lot of talent this year so will have to rely on making the game ugly on defense to win. They are hoping, but not overly optimistic, that they may sneak into the playoffs this season.

Which is all fine with me if they actually appear to compete with their best efforts this season.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostThe Pels just need Hield to look like he could be an all-star at some point. And their best players to consistently be available to play. Then they might be a sixth seed.
Joe Johnson being the sixth best player on our team while Boris Diaw and Jeff Withey are 10th and 11th men actually feels pretty good.
Not bad depth at all.

injury
By blackace Go To Postguess his knee didn't fold backwards in the first roundI think steph was playing hurt. He wasn't moving like he was in the regular season.
But they were also playing tired.
And they didn't take the rest they did in the previous year, because they were chasing 73..
I disagree with them being overly tired... They played roughly the same mins they did the year before... Curry averaged 2+ mins last season...
Cle did exactly what they needed to do to beat the Warriors so can't take anything from them because the Warriors beat a hurt Cle team the year before

not MPG maybe, but more games.
Steph played 90 more minutes
Draymond 300 more
Klay another 200
That adds up.
The 3 after them played less than the year before, but those are the 3 you're more worried about.
It's not taking anything from Cle. But healthy.... i don't think anyone takes Cle over GSW.
By shun Go To PostThe Timberwolves will seed higher than the Pelicans this year.I have that kind of faith in the starting five, especially under Thibs, but how far the team ends up will depend on the bench. It's a team that will require either Shabazz or Brandon Rush to play decent minutes, and uh, we'll see. They also need it not be a tire fire when Rubio leaves the game.

Or is he just not a good passer ?
By KingGondo Go To PostWonder how long it'll take me to not feel anything when I see KD in Warriors gear. When yall get blown out by 50 while KD and Curry dance on the court.
By giririsss Go To PostWould you run it through wiggins when Rubio is off the court? He has decent handles. He's okay. You can't run all your offense through Wiggins, though, because, yeah, I'd call his handle just decent.

Sounds like Thibs wants to run some good amount of the second unit through Bjelica, which is how I wanted Mitchell to use him last year. His point forward ability is what won him the MVP in Europe and why I was excited about him as a player, so I want to see it.

Didn't the Bulls run some of their offense through Noah? I could see Thibs doing the same with Bjelica
By blackace Go To PostBesides with Dunn why would you run O through Wiggins?it might be the only way to keep him from disappearing lol
By blackace Go To PostI'm having a tough time seeing the Thunder in the playoffs… They might make it but..GS, LAC, SAS would be the only locks?
probables are Portland, Grizz, Houston.
So 5 in (ex houston) and then Houston, Jazz, Thunder, Wolves, Pels and mav's fighting over the last 3 spots.
I think the Mav's fall off this year though.
Houston i could see collapsing, that seems like a really fragile team (mentally), it could get toxic so quickly.
I think the Jazz will get there too, but also wonder if we're all over selling them.
So Houston Thunder, Wolves Pel's fighting over 2 spots?

Wiggins could be facing a career defining year. Is he an all star or is he another Iggy (a fringe star, super role player).
By DY_nasty Go To PostHouston already collapsed and still managed to make the playoffs. There's no way they'll be worse than they were last year.Houston snuck in by the skin of their teeth. And their roster is probably worse. Don't think that's a safe assumption at all.
GS, LAC, SAS would be the only locks? The Wolves should be well in the mix for as high as 6th.. Houston should be in the running.. I don't see the Pels making it tho. Really to me either the Rockets or the Thunder miss the playoffs. The Thunder are the only team on the list where I look at the roster like:
probables are Portland, Grizz, Houston.

By blackace Go To PostI don't know about worse..
Maybe defensively without Dwight but they'll score enough that it won't matter. Should easily be 6th-7th seed
By blackace Go To PostI don't know about worse..They have no real Center. And their PF's are super undersized. Nene is a real unknown at this point, strugling to play 60 games and in tiny minutes.
I mean, what's their starting 5.
Bev, Harden, Ariza, Anderson, Nene?
Gordon, Smith, Motiejunas as their bench?
Anderson has been pretty bloody terrible at defense for anything other than rebounds for 5 years now. So their crunch time unit will have Smith as their C?

By giririsss Go To PostWiggins could be facing a career defining year. Is he an all star or is he another Iggy (a fringe star, super role player).More literally, to this point, both Flip and Smitch have had to force feed him touches to keep him engaged.
Can he score more in the flow of offense? Can he do things that aren't score? Those are things he has to be able to do now that the team is better and actually trying to win ballgames.
By P.SY! Go To Postwhat? he averaged 21 ppg in his sophmore year…
By blackace Go To PostIggy was a 18/6/6 guy his 3rd year…
Yeah, i'm not doubting Wiggins ability to put up numbers at all. Guy is athletic, great touch around the rim. But his shooting seems to still be bleh. And you need to keep people honest at least with your shooting. He can't. Hopefully they find ways to get him his comfort shots and spots he likes better this year. But that's sort of what is meant.
The great counter to that is "wade" but Wades the anomaly, not the norm. . He was ~.650 at the rim his whole career and in his best years he was ~.400 on long 2's. The norm is Aminu. Wiggs is better than Aminu though, obviously.
By DY_nasty Go To Postwhat do they need a center for? its not like they're going to be playing defense

Dwight at least gave the idea of defense. Even if it wasn't exactly a focus of the team.
And it's super hard to win ball games getting out rebounded by 10+ boards every game. Suns fans know. Do we really expect THIS Houston team to be an all time efficient and great offense?. They'll put up numbers sure... but great?
By rodeoclown Go To PostMore literally, to this point, both Flip and Smitch have had to force feed him touches to keep him engaged. Not that being Iggy is a bad thing, if you can accept that is who you are. It took Iggy a long time to accept that.

By Kabro Go To PostKD averaged 25pts in his Sophomore year. jsSometimes it's just not fair to compare these guys to the great scorers.
Melo put up b2b years of 21ppg to start with, then basically over 26 his career.
LBJ went 21ppg --> over 27ppg his career.
Kobe went 8ppg --> 15ppg -->20ppg -->22ppg to staying over 25ppg for his career.
Dirk was the same as Kobe.
