Is Ingram supposed to be the KD-lite to Dtective's Westbrick-lite and Randle's Ibaka-lite.
you banking on your talent to be like that?

i'll take it.
Yeah an 8 game improvement and a possible tank pick would be nice. I really want to root for wins and solid play / development. So if I can do that while still tanking I'm happy.
By Kabro Go To PostIngram reminds me more of dirk tbh.
Randles game is pretty different from Ibaka and d'judas is different than Westbrook as well
No I'm making a very superficial comparison based off of Moris comment. They don't play similar at all, especially if they try and emulate the Walton system.
I just find it funny how much banking some people making on the talent you have, still not convinced on them at all. Especially Randle as a player.

The point I was making was that a bad record from a young team doesn't necessarily mean the prospects are bad and that adding another high pick to a team like that could make a difference.
By Moris Go To PostThe point I was making was that a bad record from a young team doesn't necessarily mean the prospects are bad and that adding another high pick to a team like that could make a difference. But that's a really vague and broad door you've got there. By those standards half the league is ready to make the step.
Also, quite seriously, can we just get Jarred Dudley as the Suns Player/Roster Manager. Guy is so much class.

Its the typical picture of a team that burned it completely down and have nothing but prospects. OKC with KD/YN/Harden is the absolute best case scenario and a near impossibility for LA to duplicate, but that doesn't mean the prospects in LA can't eventually be the foundation of a good team after leading a team to 20 something wins when they were 19/20 years old.

There's a big scale between that and Milwaukee.
You're not wrong, but if you posted that with a knick's avatar.....
Also, been reading more Suns stuff lately, almost no one is talking about Bledsoe on the team. All talking about the Rooks / Booker.
Lakers are in a decent place imo.. they have two young players who could at one point become fringe all-stars.
however the down side to that is somehow this year they managed to go over the cap..

Randle is poo poo.
They're not in a terrible spot but the rebuild looks far from done.
They still need to address 2 spots, long term, SF and C. And get a bench. They're not in a massive hole or anything but I wouldn't say they're close either.
It's hard to hate too much on the Randle pick. Lots of other guys there that aren't doing a ton either. But Randle might be the worst of the lot.

This is ridiculous statement.
#5 - Dante Exum
#6 - Marcus Smart
#7 - Julius Randle
#8 - Nik Stauskas
#9 - Noah Vonleh
This is the range he was going to fall in during the 2014 drat. Hindsight makes criticism easier, but he's not worse than anyone picked in the range.

By Fenderputty Go To PostThis is ridiculous statement. He's worse than Smart. Considerably. Exum has been out injured but atleast looked physically capable of playing his spot. So yeah, he's worse than those two. He's also worse than several picked after him, Payton, LaVine, Warren.

It wasn't a particularly great draft for depth. So it's not exactly the harshest of criticism. And by no means is drafting an exact science. The #3 pick still hasn't played an NBA game (Embiid).

I mean if the best you can say about Exum is that he looked physically capable, I'm not sure how you can say he's better since Julius is definitely physically capable. I'm curious how you think Smart is better as well. I would think defense would be about the only thing ? Either way both of those guys went ahead of him and the two guys behind him are clearly worse.
Hindsight gives you the ability to talk about LaVine and the others. Comparatively, I can say LaVine was a garbo pick that underperforms because of Clarkson. At the time, Julius was going to fall within the range of picks that I listed and isn't the "worse of the lot" within that range. I'm pretty sure every Laker fan here who wanted Smart at the time is thanking the FSM that we didn't get him.
By Kabro Go To Postclassless organization if they allow him to play.they've been blocking him at every opportunity. That's the reason for the tension between both sides. Bosh was trying to play during the playoffs too.
By Adam Blade Go To PostIs Bosh stupid or willfully ignorant? His career is done.Apparently he's found one doctor that would clear him(all the heat doctors and specialist they hired said no). He was on facebook or twitter the other day talking about a hockey player that takes bIlood thinners that are out of his system by game time or something.
From LeBatard, Bosh & the Union are willing to sign whatever waivers that would be required for him to play but obviously the Heat don't want to risk the possibility of Bosh dropping dead on live TV.
Media day start this week and training camp next week so I guess it will develop more.

And Randle doesn't look capable of playing a starting 4 role. Maybe a bench bruiser. But ....
I mean LaVine looked just as bad as a PG, but when moved off the ball at SG... looks at least serviceable as a starter. (If he locked in on Defense he'd be a really great asset to that core... and there's no reason he can't be a lock down defender).
I'm not sure Randle has the versatility to play anything other than the PF spot though.
Smart is more valuable because he actually contributes to winning. He's by no means an all star either. His FG% is shocking, his range terrible.
It's always hard to compare first rounders to second rounders. They're usually long shots with huge caveats making it a good reason to avoid them in the first round. Clarkson was definitely the better pick between Randle and Clarskon though.
If you were to rank the top 10 players taken in that draft, half might have gone after pick 15 and thats crazy.
By diehard Go To PostIf you were to rank the top 10 players taken in that draft, half might have gone after pick 15 and thats crazy.
Yea it was a bad draft for bad teams who didn't land a top 2 pick.
Exum had a historically awful rookie year and busted his knee before he could redeem himself, Smart is half a basketball player, Vonleh and Stauskas are awful.
Randle is nowhere near the worst of the first rounders. You're way off on this one giri.

He's clearly the better performing player from that draft for picks 5-9. He also makes DY say stupid things so that's a + too.
Vonleh could eventually be better than Randle, he's super young, was raw as hell and has a great physical profile but he's not there yet.
Id take Randle over Smart any day of the week.
his jumpshot needs work, but not many players can bull rush his way to the basket the way he can.
