i mean that's a dumb ass name, too. Makes no sense. they should've changed the name when the team moved.
doesnt make the jazz name any more right especially in a world where Nola has a team and they're called the pelicans
By DY_nasty Go To PostI need Dunn to get caught with weedlmao
By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostWait. 4 years and 4.5 million TOTAL? That's insanely cheapBasically he'd getting paid like a 1st rounder in the 20s. But to compare, Timofey Mozgov's contract when the Knicks signed him some 4-5 years ago was for 3 million a year. I'd say this guy looks like he's better than Moz right now.
By Kabro Go To Posti know simmons isn't there,

I think so
Cbssports is saying the Knicks coaching spot is still wide open......
I am so about that Vogel life because he is suppose to be interviewing for Jobs there.

Yea but the salary cap is like 50% higher. 4 years 4.5 million is a ridiculously low contract over the next 4 years. Say whatever you want about Phil but he's doing a good job getting discounted deals.
I've cooled on Hernangomez a bit after I found out he has trouble guarding screen and rolls... in Europe. Hope he pans out though.
By Freedom = $1.05 Go To Posti mean that's a dumb ass name, too. Makes no sense. they should've changed the name when the team moved.Nah, Utah is more identifiable with the NBA Jazz brand. NOLA deserved to lose that team and I don't want them to take that name from a team that has done more good with it than the original city.

Best-selling NBA jerseys this season:
1. Steph,
2. Kobe
3. LeBron
4. Porzingis
5. KD
6. Westbrook
7. DRose.
who is buying a DRose jersey in 2016? Kobe I can understand because he was retiring.
i assume rose is selling well because he's the best known guy in chicago and the chicago jersey is a bit like the yankee hat.
Rose jersey is probably the one i see the most behind Curry and Kobe.

If that's the case you guys should take a flyer at Chandler Parsons. He legit might leave Dallas to go to a better team, and if he gets healthy. He is a better player and a hell of a FA recruiter.

Wants to make that final push to supplant Simmons as the #1 pick.
By 33MillionDollarMen Go To PostIf my team has to take a free agent lets take Ryan Anderson. Please do. I have a sinking feeling Derp Demps is going to try and overpay the guy to a 15+ million contract he will likely command.

I've been saying this since last FA how much this FA sucks.
I think smarter GM's will go after RFA's just because at least there is a chance they improve enough to earn that contract due to youth.
By Kabro Go To PostI think the 6ers pick Ingram.Do you think Simmons is a top 2 pick in the draft?
and I think he's a better fit in La then Simmons is.
I am really high on the 2017 draft class...
So many great 1s and 2s
Jackson
Fultz
Smith
Fox
Tatum
Ball <==== Can't wait to see this kid

By blackace Go To PostDo you think Simmons is a top 2 pick in the draft?definitely.
i'm more speaking of the needs of the bottom 2 teams, not necessarily perceived talent.
By Kabro Go To Postdefinitely.if we look at the top 5 picks he only really fits two of the five teams as far as need... Lakers and Suns. He is a horrible fit for the 6ers who need range... Boston wouldn't be mad to have him but they need frontline help and Minny doesn't have mins at his position

By Kabro Go To PostI think the 6ers pick Ingram.Simmons to the 6er's seems like the worst fit for both parties involved.
and I think he's a better fit in La then Simmons is.
Almost any other team realistically in the mix would be a better fit
By blackace Go To Postif we look at the top 5 picks he only really fits two of the five teams as far as need… Lakers and Suns. He is a horrible fit for the 6ers who need range… Boston wouldn't be mad to have him but they need frontline help and Minny doesn't have mins at his positionI think if Simmons ended up in Minny he would play the 4 a lot. Which he can certainly do with his size and frame in todays game. Would be interesting what they do with Rubio long-term then but it would be a good problem to have.
I would LOVE for my Pelicans to hit the jackpot and get a shot at him. I think he would be perfect for us.
By blackace Go To PostRubioYeah I edited to mention that it would probably create a need to move Rubio sooner then later for a shooter(Wiggins post all star shooting number look promising though). The Pelicans showed me how awful a team looks in todays game trotting out starting lineups that only have three shooters.
LaVine
Wiggins
Simmons
KAT
the 2nd best spot up shooter in that lineup would be KAT lol
But a core of KAT, Simmons, Lavine and Wiggins may rival OKC and have GS in their sites for the best young, promising nucleus of draft talent in the last decade...Not saying it will hit that ceiling but if I were a Wolves fan and was told those types of talent would be my teams nucleus three years ago I don't think anyone would be disappointed.
Simmons would fit fine. We won 10 games. Who gives a shit about anyone on the roster rn. Okafor or Noel will be traded. Embiid probably will break again after 10 games. Saric is an unknown. We need any talent we can get atm. Ingram is a neater fit but at the end of the day....we won 10 games.

Again I think Ingram is the pick...but lets say he's not on board and Simmons is...you don't pass on him for anyone else IMO. Moves will have to be made regardless in terms of the log jam.

So its not like you are stuck trying to develop Simmons around the current roster.
I just worry about the seemingly meh culture for a guy like Simmons to be walking into. After following him at LSU I really think him being in the right locker room with the right coaching staff in the right situation is going to be a critical component to his development. He really needs some strong, positive personalities to guide him properly from teammates and coaching staff IMO.
By blackace Go To PostRubioYeah, the ideal 4 for the Wolves is obviously a guy that can stretch the defense some. I don't know if that guy is available, but I'd love another shooter to help keep defenses honest.

It's no coincidence that the offense really got going once Smitch put LaVine in the starting five and Wiggins starting draining 3s at a respectable clip. If Wiggins can sustain that (I've been saying this for two years now), with Zach spotting up, Towns a threat in pick and roll/a threat to pop out, man, even Thibs can make that work.

You get a shot at Simmons, move Rubio and don't look back. Too much potential there to pass it up.
Frankly all the Ingram talk is a bit funny to me as an LSU fan. Had Simmons been wiser and went to a more prestigious and better coached program instead of the shit show that is Johnny Jones' LSU, no one would even be talking about taking Ingram over him.
By Jonm Go To PostThe one positive is Hinkie did leave you in a position of flexibility. So its not like you are stuck trying to develop Simmons around the current roster.I think our locker room is pretty good considering all the soul crushing losses. Coach Brown either coached or knew Simmons' pop and Aussie culture (he's an expert) in general; which would help too. Brown, may or may not be a great coach, but he kept the locker room togther and despite the tank stank surrounding the franchise very few guys left on bad terms (although I suspect some dirty laundry will start to drop as the FO looks clean up the messy end)

if the 6ers end up with Simmons trading down to like a Murray and getting another piece seems best to me
By blackace Go To Postif the 6ers end up with Simmons trading down to like a Murray and getting another piece seems best to meI'd honestly take Hield over Murray if pushed but thats another argument altogether.
Though I can see the logic in maybe trading back, getting a guy like Dunn, Murray or Hield and then Valentine in the mid first or something. Though I think fans would be livid for such a move and I am not sure how I would personally feel passing on a possible generational talent for guys that are projected to at best be career 2nd or 3rd options at best.

you would need to get a starting PG or SF in return as well...
of course you could flip Okafor for a shooter as well and keep Simmons...
