naw I said they tried their best, or that they really wanted to improve or something. maybe they did more in on offseason than some teams do in years

I kinda like their roster.. it is the type of team that could sneak up on teams. I also think they will play hard for Nate. Now if he can run an offense from the year 2010 at least they might be ok.

Bismack/Ibaka/Gordon/Vucevic is an A+ rotation. The guard/wing group has to be complete shit for that team to miss the playoffs imo. And they Augustin who is on his way out of the league which means he'll blow up again and play amazing like he always does every 3 years to save himself.

a lot of these old head coaches can't adapt unless they're keeping old systems in place. they just added a ton of iso players and charged nate with opening up an offense built in fuckball. that team is gonna play hard as fuck for about 2 months, be .500, then hit a wall

Bismack/Ibaka/Gordon/Vucevic is an A+ rotation. The guard/wing group has to be complete shit for that team to miss the playoffs imo. And they Augustin who is on his way out of the league which means he'll blow up again and play amazing like he always does every 3 years to save himself.

Orlando's fate rests on Fournier and Hezonja keeping the floor spaced and weirdhair guy not being complete shit at PG again.

I want to like them, but I know better than to have faith in young wings carrying the offensive load from the perimeter.

Matt Moore of CBSSports and Hardwood Paroxysm had some good things to say about Nate in regards to running a good offense in Indy. I think it is just in tweets, though, so I'm not going to bother trying to find all of them.

The gist is that he expects the offense to still be slower than average and still be heavy iso, since that is pretty much all McMillan offenses. However, he noted that the iso-centric offenses that Nate are more for creation purposes than solo scoring chances i.e. he has people moving and getting open while the iso goes on in order to generate open shots.

He thinks Paul George and Monta Ellis can execute this well and is glad that Teague can play off-ball competently with his shooting skills. He is worried about all the other shooters and if the three afore-mentioned players can generate enough good looks for other players with minimal turnovers.

e: Moore, iirc, thinks it is possible for the Pacers to have an above-average offensive efficiency but that there are a lot of questions that need to be answered.

The thing about Nate is he is a Thibs type of coach... Play hard D and do what you can on O. Unlike his last years in Portland he has the horses to play good D so and some stars to score as well. I think it is as good as fit as you would find right now for his style

I think that front court doesn't have enough mins for all of them and only one of the four can catch the ball in the post...

I think Gordon is gonna make Ibaka entirely irrelevant by December anyways

Luckily his expiring might be worth something to someone..

If he isn't they have a problem.

He is only effective on offense because they force someone to guard him by giving him the ball. Off-ball Giannis is .. not so great.

George Hill, Teague, even Lawson would've helped. Unless you got a guy like Harden or Hayward... [there's really very few off-guards like that who exists in the league imo] you can't just go without a PG and expect reasonable success. I can't even include guys like Batum. That team is too young to be trying next level shit.

He's not a PG (I know that very well) and is also injured. There are some doubts whether he will actually play a minute in a Pelican uniform this season. But he is very much available and rumors are he can be had for nothing!

I hated at the time and I hate even more now that the team traded RoLo to get the cap space to acquire Evans. Fuck, I hate watching that man play. If you trade his handles and shot with Klay's, Evans would be everything DY thinks Klay is.

The Bucks should in theory break the league. All that athleticism and length. They are the team you create in 2k and shit on everyone....but Giannis' jumper is broke. Jabari is being held back a bit (and has no position), MCW is what we thought he was....shit sucks.

Harden's already shown that he do things with the ball - his tunnel vision issues are a symptom of a lot of other stuff. He wasn't ALWAYS a ballstopper or ballhog.
