By rvy Go To PostAh fuck me, I just googled FournierBut, he just recently asked people to google him to check out his new look this season on twitter! (for real)
Fuck me
Don't google Fournier
Speaking of twitter, Embiid is really good at it:
Reading people's reactions to Fournier just reminds me of helping my mom with her WOC papers. She isn't very good at computing or internetting and had me look up all kinds of wounds and sores and such for the best pictures that she could use for her reports.
Between that and growing up hearing the occasional horrific burn story (she was the head burn nurse for like 20 years at a local hospital), I've become desensitized to many things like that. However, it also scared me off from ever wanting to be a medical professional, especially one who has to treat trauma victims or someone who is hospitalized for extensive care. I know I wouldn't be able to handle it.

Really amazing that besides Nash dying in LA, the trade itself hasn't hurt LA's rebuilding effort yet. I do think this is the year we pay the piper for that trade tho, #4 overall going to Philly.
after seeing that new ye video on the VMAs im surprised shumpert can ever summon the energy to get out of bed. he won
To be fair to Lawson, I hope he fixes things, but I don't have faith in that.
Read his interview on The Undefeated where he's like "I just had 4 DUIs, its not like I'm getting drunk before practice."
Not seeming to get it.

By blackace Go To PostKings… When do we admit that Vlade is clueless?I dunno.
He's been in bit of a shit spot hasn't he?
Like, they had so many holes / area's to fix it's not like they had just one
By giririsss Go To PostI dunno. They have one major hole and that's PG... and he has signed major problem PGs to 1 year deals two years in a row to pair with a C who isn't really glue guy... on top of that they draft more bigs instead of shooting and/or ball handlers...

I don't mind the pick. There doesn't seem to be a SG/PG that's obviously better that they could have got. There's no obvious 2016 Guard they missed out on. And in 2015 t hey missed Mudiay and Booker. A lot of people missed Booker, Mudiay might be the only "miss" they had.

And Free Agents aren't falling over themselves to be there. I don't mind the 1 year deals, he's not mortgaging their future to these guys.
But they've got holes all over the spot. I like McLemore, but he doesn't like SAC. Will they be able to keep him? Their PG's have been a mess. Their SF production has been ... underwhelming. None of the other bigs they've drafted have turned out (either on there team or on any other after a trade).
The worst that could be said is that he's wasting years of Prime DMC.
Or that... he could be signing guys with... better character. Barnes, Lawson, Collison ... not exactly mentors.
I'm not saying he's doing great. But he's not doing terrible either.

Drafting one of them two and Wade Baldwin would have been the smart play... but I really haven't seen anything that says his moves are anything but trash

He shouldn't take the BPA at their spot?

I think they're better off with talent they can trade than need picking a guy 10 picks worse.
Worst is they trade DMC, have big's talent behind that, and trade need for wings / guards and a boat load of picks.

At 13 I am not sold that Papagiannis was the BPA not with Valentine / Baldwin / Murray (to some degree) on the board.. I think Skal fell to them at 28 so you can't really plan on him being there but when you have DMC and WCS, along with Koufos getting a project big doesn't with 13 doesn't seem like BPA to me... now the kid could come over and be the next KP his rookie season.. and if so I'd be happy to eat my words.
But as it stands now the moves look horrible
That pick over Valentine was absolute fuckery
They should have looked to move Cousins by now. Shit they've already been drafting as if that's the thought process.

By Moris Go To PostYea Kings moves are head scratching imoNothing new there.
Drafting Poppa G never made sense. You replace him with Baldwin and that's a pretty good draft. Then you have Baldwin, Skal and Malachi, which is a pretty nice haul.
However, I think Vlade drafted Poppa because of some Greek connection he has and he thought he'd be trading Kosta for a PG, but then Poppa looked awful and he realized he couldn't do that.
The weird thing about the Kings is the franchise has never valued PGs. This goes beyond Vlade and Vivek. The last lottery pick they took on a PG was JWill and that's when things turned around. Since then, they've avoided drafting PGs. Remember they took Tyreke Evans, who smart people knew was not a real PG, and passed on Rubio, Lawson and Curry. They also passed on Lilliard and took Thomas Robinson. They got lucky with IT and then tossed him away for nothing.
I guess you could count Jimmer as PG, but that was not his game. Again, like Evans, they just don't have anyone involved in the organization that understands the PG position. No matter the ownership or GM, that's been consistent. They don't know the significant difference between guys like Evans/Jimmer and your standard PG.
It's a weird thing where the last real PG they drafted on purpose was the last time they turned things around and yet that means nothing to them.
Maybe they don't have the patience to draft PGs. They keep looking for the quick hit.

Skal falling to 28 was a good pick for them imo..
Whatever they have done under other owners and other GMs shouldn't be an excuse for the current group of people.
Not having patience is also thin because they keep drafting project big men...
Kings could build up so fast by tanking this year and moving Cousins for the Nets pick. That's the move I'd make for sure. Get back some fodder and tank for a year.
End up with a guarantee of one of Smith/Fultz at guard and a great chance at Giles. You could probably pry away either one of Jaylen Brown or Crowder too--that's how thirsty the C's are for a big name acquisition.
Fultz
Brown
Gay
Giles
WCS
could be the roster to start next year
i'd trade a lottery protected first also in order to get Grayson Allen
Team rebuilt in literally a year

That team would be ugly... the Cs reached on Brown... if you trading DMC you better get Dunn or Murray... if you still had the 8th pick maybe reach for Sabonis
Dunn
Ben
Gay
Sabonis
WCS
That's a good young core and in the bottom 5 so you most likely get a top 5 pick maybe get a Fultz, Tatum, or if super lucky Jackson

My post wasn't meant as an excuse. It's just an observation about the franchise's history and Point Guards.
They are the opposite of Phoenix. They just don't value the PG position.

Either way that's probably a top four pick plus another top five pick from Brooklyn
Kings have to trade Cousins, cause it's pretty clear if he has a chance he's walking. Kings can either turn him into a decent rebuild or be delusional and basement dwell for the foreseeable future.
