Nah they still gawker shit.
I want to see most of the media world burn down tho. We went from the false observation of pure objectivism to New Journalism which no longer upheld that false self-image, to what we have now where a bunch of hacks figure they don't need to try to be objective because you can't be wholly objective so listen to what I think because it's the whole truth. Combine this with the speed and spread of new media and it's a fucking shit show.
Rant over.
Joeger's press conference was pretty good. There were no signs that there may have been tampering from what was said. Vlade said he knew that due to the nature of the business that somebody in the playoffs would be fired. Joeger was the one that really wanted the Kings job. For his part, Joeger sounds like he has long term plans for Sac. Apparently he didn't get the memo. His approach and everything is just plain sensible coaching approaches that have been lacking since Malone and for most of the past 10 years. Sadly, this will be the first time you have the GM and the coach he hired set in to start a season since Vivek bought the team.
It did sound like Joeger wants to bring in some people from the Adelman era and it sounded a bit like maybe even bringing Adelman in as some adviser or guru.

Well you're a GG supporter so I'm gonna go ahead and take your opinions on the media with a truckload of salt.
Is it just me or has ESPN website been pushing and advertising Stephen A Smith more than usual lately
Sports journalism is just kind of shit. So much nepotism and keeping guys for the popularity of their names rather than good investigative reporting and in depth insights. Real Sports probably has the best crew and those people aren't really "sports" journalists, they run the gamut of subjects.
By shun Go To PostIs it just me or has ESPN website been pushing and advertising Stephen A Smith more than usual latelyNot surprising with Simmons, Cowherd and Bayless leaving he's their guy now.
I mean I'm not going to deadspin for some sort of investigative reporting or anything. Mostly to occasionally laugh at their occasionally on point opinions.
Not sure what you want out of sports news but maybe you're more of a 538 type of guy.

I mean they would be super stupid to admit tampering at the presser tho.
Yeah, I know that. However, it's the Kings so slip ups are a possibility. If the Jason Kidd fiasco didn't end up in tampering then there won't be any issue here. I am sure both sides knew there was interest, but as long as they didn't directly talk until after the firing then it's not an issue.
I mean Dwight Howard is stupid enough to admit to cheating for 4 years.
I would not put that past some teams and administrations.

doesn't mean it didn't happen
Not saying they did not tamper or recruit during the season.
I am just saying i would not put it past the Kings to openly admit it like Dwight Howard did.
The signs are there.

I really don't think there was any tampering going on. The truth is Joerger's agent has been trying to get him any job he can for the last 6 months and Sac finally bit. Wallace was tired of him and his agent's bullshit and just fired him so he could go after Vogel without having to negotiate some kind of compensation for a worthless 2nd round pick.
Joeger's agent is also Karl's agent, so he likely new the timetable on both situations and what sort of coach the Kings were looking to get.

I really think Vogel is going to the Knicks if they want him. He's local, he's a Phil fanboy, they have a large defensive front court and most importantly they can easily outbid Memphis (they probably won't be willing to pay him what we paid Fish). It's all up to Phil...
If Memphis really does give the job back to Lionel Hollins, then I say Vogel either ends up in NY or just takes the year off. If he waits a year then he gets to pick the best situation available next year the same way Thibs did.
Yea Thibs and Brooks had to wait it out a year because everyone was on that "what if we have Mark Jackson and there's a Kerr out there". Once it became clear that their replacements were downgrades or lateral moves, they were in demand.
Which is hella crazy. If Mark Jackson is replaced by Hoiberg and Kerr is coaching OKC the past two years they're probably chipping, Brooks is persona non grata and Jackson probably gets another job

Yeah that Hollins rumor makes me think the Grizzlies maybe are planning for Vogel to go somewhere else.
Most likely Hollins is the backup plan for when everything goes to shit. He is gonna be the last resort if they can't get anyone else they will ask Hollins to come back (which would suck).
why would anyone want Ibaka? dude is older than Duncan and a lineup featuring Adams and Kanter was so much better.

By reilo Go To PostThen why would Portland want Ibaka?Your PF rotation is ass and when he's at his best he's a game-changer.
Comes down to whether you think his decline is genuine or a change in role/system.
It's kinda a non-story but it's just adding to the narrative.
Carmelo Anthony would reportedly approve of a David Blatt hiring.Like, Knicks could literally hire anyone else and Carmelo would ok it. Blatt? Ok. Vogel? Better. Carmelo would approve a coaching triangle of me, 3SP, and captmcblack right now over Rambis. Do you get the picture all of New York is screaming, Phil? DON'T FUCKING HIRE KURT RAMBIS.
Anthony reportedly feels that Blatt could bring along Kristaps Porzingis in his development quicker than current frontrunner Kurt Rambis due to his familiarity with coaching European players, and this is yet another subtle hint from Melo that he does not view Rambis as the proper fit to coach the Knicks.
By KingGondo Go To PostYour PF rotation is ass and when he's at his best he's a game-changer.I know our PF rotation is ass but that doesn't make Ibaka the solution even if he is an upgrade.

Keep in mind next year's a contract year.
Portland isn't gonna give up assets for a guy like Ibaka seeking the max and left on a one-year contract.
We probably should have traded him before the last deadline.
At this point I expect to lose him in free agency after next season. Fine with that tbh unless some team makes a nice offer.

I just assume any GM worth his salt is constantly probing to figure out the value of all the players on their roster.

Unless the plan is to run Melo out of NYC. Or even just to make sure AA opts out.
I still think it goes to Vogel (especially because after Melo said Blatt hiring him would look like Phil gave in) but I honestly don't know anymore

Second team:
Luigi Datome
Quincy Miller
Ekpe Udoh

I mean I'm the biggest Phil and Triangle fan out there and I've been on that fuck Kurt Rambis, anyone but Rambis tip too. The guy's trash and his understanding of the Triangle is near irrelevant if Phil's going to be running seminars and participating in practice. This offense works, like all offenses, when players are able to read and react on their own. It's why Phil doesn't call timeouts and panic as much as other coaches. Neither Rambis nor Phil micro-manage the offense once the ball gets tipped
By KingGondo Go To PostJames Harden 2016 Defensive "Highlights"
Literally don't think he went into defensive stance one single time.
Also, part of the whole "see ball and man" is that you're supposed to see your fucking man. Dude gets burned by backdoor cuts more than anyone I've ever seen.
