WTF IS GOING ON
By Kibner Go To PostBored NBA writers are bored.Still doesn't explain #1
Is this what happens after a post-Grantland world, or was it always like this just not as noticeable. can't tell anymore.
Maybe I'm just way too cynical but I don't get the optimistic projections for the Knicks. 3 of their 5 starters are basically like one injury away from sitting out shit tons of the season.
Well I mean having half your panel say that a team is ranked sub 20s and the other half saying that they're top 10, and doing the entire ranking based on the average voting results is not a really good indicator of how good a team is.
Having half the voting panel saying the Bulls will be ass and the other half saying they will be top 10 doesn't mean the team is average. The way they do it is stupid.
db it is not just you the article is just dumb.

Opinions are mixed so the average comes out in between, I don't really see how else you would do it.. Other than listing how everyone ranked them individually.
If a store on google gets a bunch of 5 star reviews and a bunch of 1's.. it will get 2.5 and be below a store that everyone gave a 3 to.

I wouldn't really compare randos rating their subjective experience in an establishment with what are supposed to be experts being all over the place about teams.
By Tea Go To PostI wouldn't really compare randos rating their subjective experience in an establishment with what are supposed to be experts being all over the place about teams. When it comes to "who the fuck knows" teams like the Knicks, everybody is a rando.
I'll eat my words later if they do well but the optimism for the Knicks is so damn high with a bunch of these panelists and experts. I just don't see why.
By diehard Go To PostStill doesn't explain #1lmao. Utah #1 bench?
Who is the starting center for the Cavs again?
Also I feel the warriors shouldn't be so high. They gutted their depth and are a 7 man quality depth wise now. Also no legit center but that is another discussion.....

[The Clippers have signed veteran small forward Alan Anderson to a one year veteran minimum contract.
Low-key, this is not a bad signing for us.
Johnson/Pierce/LRMAM/Anderson, I'm sure there's a decent 3 to be made from some combination of them.
Embiid looks like he's physically back to 100% as of now:

We'll see what happens, his talent is off the charts.

They still got AI and Livingston....

The problem is that a majority of these so-called experts suck.

Half the starting lineups they predict... won't ever be the starting lineups (except through injury)

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/17205164/jimmer-fredette-signs-shanghai-sharks-chinese-league
Former lottery pick Jimmer Fredette has agreed to a one-year deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to league sources.
The specific amount of Fredette's deal with the Yao Ming-owned Sharks was not immediately available. Sources said the value is "north of $1 million."
Fredette, the 2011 national player of the year and NCAA scoring champion out of BYU, played most recently for the New York Knicks on a 10-day contract last season. He drew free-agent interest from NBA teams this summer, according to sources, but hadn't found a steady role in the league since being selected 10th overall in the 2011 NBA draft.
Oh hey, Jimmer went to a team where his fans may be right about racism dictating his playing time and role.

“I feel kind of disrespected that people keep using the term sacrifice to describe me and describe us,” Thompson told Shams Charania of The Vertical. “We all want to see each other do well. But I’m not sacrificing [expletive], because my game isn’t changing. I’m still going to try to get buckets, hit shots, come off screens. I want to win and have a fun time every game we play.”

seems like GSW is ripe for the same messy first year the heat had. Should be fun to watch them squirm

Not saying they won't have some growing pains...
naw they are gonna win games, just going to be interesting to see how much KD brings down the stats of Steph and Klay

i dont see gs bitching about practices being too hard like the heat did at first either.

You're definitely not lacking for veteran voices or confidence. Anything less than a WCF loss to the dubs would be a disappointment imo.
