By Kuma Go To PostI been hoping he just quit basketball and be family man. His legacy is certified already.
Not going out on your own terms has to blow.
Bosh was always one of my favorite players.
Shame it ends this way. With a coach who isn't dumb enough to play Gerald Green, this Miami team probably could have been really good with a healthy Bosh

By Kabro Go To PostEad haterWell the last 3 Lakers coaches are on the list. Gotta give him that.
By Dipro Go To Postawful ending if true.He won two championships so I'm not worried about his legacy or career. I just hope this went affect him too severely in retirement. His health issues seem scary.
By lovingsteam Go To PostFrom the way he talks, it seems like Jim is willing to trade away any of our young guys for a 'big name vet'. If we were to get a top 3 pick, I believe he is dumb enough to bundle said pick with say Russell and/or Randle for a guy like Paul George or Cousins.Because that strategy has worked so well for the Knicks, Nets, and the Lakers last time.
At this point I almost feel like the best thing for them might be to lose the lottery so they have no way of depleting all their assets to chase a DMC or PG.

Top 5 pick for Harrison Barnes sounds good to me

Would be a great pickup. Per 36 numbers are off the chart. Just have to keep him healthy.

If Byron Scott knew his job was in jeopardy, he told me he would have played his vets even more minutes
lmao. perfect.

Lakers probably if they can't find a good trade. They 60 mil and a Walton..... It's not a hypothetical stretch
By pilonv1 Go To PostI'd rather keep Ezili than Harrison. Maybe not at $15m/year but $10-12m sure

A strangely cringe-worthy *and* somewhat touching article about James Dolan's music career:

By lovingsteam Go To PostWelp.shit man if Bosh's career ends like this then that's terrible, and not even because i'm a heat fan. Dude seems so down to earth and competitive and his game would've gone deep into his 30s so it would be a shame if he couldn't come back : /
Rumors that LA has its eye on Ezeli and supposedly NY execs expect Rambis to be The Knicks coach next year. 😬
I might be ok with Barnes and Ezeli signing if KD doesn't go to GS, would open up the West a bit.

Not NY execs, just execs around the league. As in, people who are just speculating. (According to an article published yesterday around noon by Bondy from the NY Daily News) I mean, it would be shitty if it happened for Knicks fans, but I'm far from convinced that it's going to happen.

When it comes to listing teams capable of stealing Durant away from the franchise he's helped build into a perennial power – and from the fiercely proud and protective state that treasures him as one of its own – almost every list out there has Warriors at or near the top.http://espn.go.com/blog/marc-stein/post/_/id/4473/spurs-want-in-on-durant-hunt-too
…The stately Spurs, league sources say, are just as intrigued as Golden State by the thought of making a run at Durant come July 1.
Not that it is that surprising any team would want Durant, but a little bit it is, yeah.
Knowing this board, I'm probably already LTTP on this one but the article itself is a good encapsulation of the whole Durant situation. At least for me it was.
Durant doesn't have many options where he doesn't look like a ring chaser but can still have a better chance for a ring. If he went to the spurs or GSW people would call him a ring chaser, and then what else would even interest him? Because he's not going to go to NY or the Wizards to waste his time and he might not want to come to Miami because it was lebron's team.
I dunno. In that sense, the Celts might be the only team that both doesn't make him look like he's chasing rings and gives him a shot at being competitive for a ring being that it's in the east and that's a decent team already. Only problem is that why would you leave OKC to play in boston when OKC is a better team.
Wonder what he'll do

I mean from the supposed insider accounts he doesn't seem to be hiding that his leaving is primarily about getting a ring.
If his already determined rationale for leaving is that his team can't give him a realistic shot at winning a championship, which seems to be the angle he would take, from the onset he is basically conceding it is ring chasing.

I guess that's fair.
What would be unfair is him at golden state. they shouldn't allow it for basketball reasons.

Yeah I originally had my money on Conley signing with the Spurs and being the final cog in their new core.
It's weird to think but my logic was always in part that Durant would possibly be settling if he chose any other team over GS.

He's not going to San Antonio. With the comments he made about Kawhi, it'd be wack as hell for him to go there to play second fiddle to him and the team that just bounced him. KD is a respect guy--he cares about his reputation as a player above all else. So it's not going down like that. If he's going to a powerhouse its definitely GS.

The Knicks have made contact with the agent for Frank Vogel, but have not yet requested an interview, according to a source close to the former Pacers coach.
According to the source, Knicks GM Steve Mills has done his due diligence in contacting Vogel’s reps. He expressed that Phil Jackson has not made a decision on how to proceed. The key to the phone call was finding out whether Vogel would have interest in the job, and it seems he does.
“I think the Knicks wanted to see where Frank’s head is at,” the source said.
If he wants to win a ring but can't go to GS/SA because he'll be labeled a ring chaser, go to the Clippers.
Won't solve Clippers problems of being a team full of betas, but it's probably the next best place if he doesn't want to stay in OKC.

WTF at Pacers firing Vogel. I'm sorry, but that looks like a horrible decision. I just don't get it.

What did Vogel even have to work with other than Paul George? I like how so many coaches basically get fired despite whatever bullshit the GM does. Talk about being the fall guy.
By Mamba Go To PostBosh :(Bird is of the mind that coaches have a 3-5 year shelf life before team's start tuning them out. It's why he re-signed after 2000 despite coaching the Pacers to the Finals.

He probably thinks that because the Celtics won a championship under Bill Fitch and KC Jones while he played there.
