By DY_nasty Go To PostNaw man. Felton was legit until Larry Brown forced him into being something he's not. Dude was one of the fastest players in the league - what does LB do? Not only put him into the slowest offense in the league, but makes him do this awkward half spin at the top of the court before starting every other set. Then there was the stage where he undercut him at every opportunity - Larry Hughes, Flip, Stephen Graham. And that Orlando series? Classic scapegoating if I ever seen it.Felton was aiight at 1 point...but come on son...
I still can't get over MJ and Silas literally making it a point to apologize to DJ Augustin's parents.
Man I hope the Knicks get Blatt. The more I think about it the more he makes sense and would likely be the best coach the Knicks could get. Except for Phil's demanding the triangle be the system used he's would probably succeed here. Melo isn't nearly a asshole Lebron is, and most importantly he's not Rambis.
Zeus stop
Learn to accept the triangle. Its going to happen, don't set yourself up for disappointment

oh dear god don't let Messina go to either NY or LA, but i bet he's smart enough to avoid both of them.
saw this on reddit:
lmao.
2007 Tim Duncan on Dwight Howard: "He doesn't look like a 19 or 20-year-old. He has so much promise and I am just glad that I will be out of the league when he is peaking."
lmao.
Zach Lowe: Steph Curry played 38 minutes over 5 games, and Warriors won 4, outscored HOU by almost 20/game. Did Capela say something mean to Harden?
i would like to know what happened with Capela.
playing him 1 minute and only when down 30 is just baffling.

Man y'all are nuts cause Orlando Dwight was great. Candidate for GOAT Defensive Player when healthy. He got screwed over by injuries and the Kobestan Minister of Public Relations. He's made mistakes but nobody remembers that if he stays healthy and his team's advance to the Finals.
Prime Dwight:
After the injury and trade to Lakers:
Like, what those 20-10 seasons don't account for is how amazing of a defensive player he was.
Prime Dwight in the playoffs:
He's got 89 playoff games under his belt, averaging:
That's more than a full season. In the playoffs.

and even with those numbers it still never seemed like he had that competitive drive. He was just naturally a beast and it allowed him to put up great numbers
I still think he can be a great player if he goes to a good situation. I thought he looked good in the playoffs last year when he was really the only one trying to win games. (before Josh Smith had the best week or two of his career)

By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostI read West's autobiography. This wasn't it. Him and Phil had a rocky relationship for sure, but he left because of Buss not Phil.
He felt disrespected by something Buss did and then the next day decided he would resign
He's a sensitive as fuck dude, he'll be the first to admit it.
Great autobiography. West is one of the most intense dudes in sports. Perfectionist, terrible childhood, horrible family loss, growing up in mining town West Virginia, scrawny, anxious, emotional. What Jerry Buss did to Jerry West with regards to Phillip was wrong. Jerry WAS the Lakers. Dude wasn't appreciate or respected as he should have been. I don't blame him.
Dwight Howard wanted to be Shaq. All star on the court and off the court. Problem is Shaq actually wanted to win above all else. Dwight? Nope.
By reilo Go To PostWhat is this evidence that Dwight didn't want to win above else?
You're right, a career long perception can't possibly be based on anything real. How about how in his opening press conference with LA he said the word "fun" like some 50 times and said some version of "win a championship" zero times.
Do you really want to play this game?
Shaq was filming Kazaam and making rap albums in the off-season and consistently came into the season out of shape. Clearly, he didn't want to win above anything else.

Remember when GodBe called out Shaq for being overweight...

He didn't. You don't say shit like "I got hurt on company time so I'm gonna enjoy my vacation and heal on company time" if you want to win above all else.
Dwight's issue is that he simply doesn't understand what it takes to win in terms of Focus and sacrifice. The hardest coach he had was SVG and he wanted him fired.
Then why are you arguing with me when I responded to a post claiming that Shaq wanted to win above else and Dwight didn't?
By reilo Go To PostThen why are you arguing with me when I responded to a post claiming that Shaq wanted to win above else and Dwight didn't?
The post I responded to didn't mention shaq
Dwight just gotta find a spot like Bogut did. Play D, set screens get boards and make easy shots. Be a super role player basically.
By reilo Go To Post?
Dude you said "what's the evidence that Dwight isn't all about winning" that's what I responded to. Clearly I don't think Shaq was all about winning either.
I know for a fact you understand how context works. I was clearly responding to the claim that Shaq wanted to win above all else within the context of Dwight not wanting to based off of reasons. It's dumb.
By masud Go To PostRumor is that Phil is gonna offer Blatt an assistant position under Rambis…LOL

Sigh. You also understand how disagreeing with a specific point works, not the broader argument.
I disagreed that there's no evidence that Dwight wasn't all about winning
I didn't disagree about any comments regarding Shaq

Either Shaq AND Dwight wanted to win above else, or neither did. The truth is somewhere in the middle, as usual. I was just calling out that silly claim by LS.
By masud Go To PostRumor is that Phil is gonna offer Blatt an assistant position under Rambis…thats pretty insulting
There have been a million rumors and they've mostly been wrong. Phil closed off access to the NY beat media quite a while ago.
Knicks don't have a first round draft pick - so other than Kerr, there's no urgency to hire someone right away. He may, but he may also not finish the hire till a month from now

Head coaches become assistant coaches all the time. Gentry being an assistant to a first year HC. Rambis being an assistant to Fisher. Doc always employs an entire bench of former head coaches.

I stand by Dwight being a good player but bad fit, a good coach will help him. He'll never be a post up threat but a good scheme could get him easy buckets and he still good defensively he was just tired covering up for the rest of the D and you could see it.
By reilo Go To PostDo you really want to play this game?

It was posted today that during the entire season, Dwight ran 90 pick n rolls this year with Houston. 90. Think about that. He was one of the best PnR players all time and just decided a few years ago he didn't want to do it anymore even though it's obviously his best weapon.
If he was truly all about winning, he would have put ego aside and become a super DeAndre Jordan. Instead, he tried to be post-up player which he's not that good at any more (if he ever was).
I'm not going to argue against pre-injury Dwight. That Dwight was a beast and his D was amazing. But the post version has been a mental clown and after watching him all year in L.A., I didn't see any desire. He pulled the same shit here and will do it in his next stop too.
