Just use bow and arrow instead of soul arrow, and keep your dex points
Minor spoilers for you: you'll find good Shields early on with low requirements and 100% physical damage reduction. And so far there's been a lack of double boss fights, which is fine by me

If you're playing the PC/Steam version there's a hacker named "Malcom Reynolds" in-game who's invading and attacking with a hacked dagger that gives you hundreds of thousands of souls and warps you back to Firelink. Because you've now got "invalid game data" you're likely softbanned from online play now.

FROM's track record for soft bans is atrocious. They're not soft, they're 100% permanent and apply across DS2/DS3.

Dark Souls was rampant with hackers in PVP and it was awful.

Yurt, said about the arrow, too.
Guess I will try it out.
So Mercenary it is.

and yes, shards!
Thanks.
Played an hour and gonna stop now. Feeling pretty tired today.
My initial observations are that I feel I am gonna enjoy it. I like the lay out of the wall bit that I have experienced so far. I really like the combat. I feel like my guy is zipping all over the place. I can't wait to see the animations when I get my Katana.
It took me a good 30 minutes to not feel sick from the camera. It felt like it was moving to fast.
Good to see an early badass dragon just set up shop and breathing fire and killing everything in sight early in the game. I guess that is what DS2 missed and it feels like a trademark of the Souls series for me.

Started NG+ earlier, beat the first boss or two and then gave it a rest. It doesn't have the instant replayability like Bloodborne did for me. That game is hands down the game of this generation for me. DS3, while better in a lot of ways, is missing the magic. Think I'll play again in a few days and maybe start a new pyro character, and then leave it until DLC.

not anyone personally, but in the extended steamfriends network.

NPC quest it means you missed out on Sieg's second or third location. He saves him ;)
Nah, already looked it up and it happened because I spoke to him after doing something else.
Finished Siegwards quest
Never been a fan of the way NPC quests work in Dark Souls

By n8 Go To PostI didn't feel bad. Boring little fuck.Patches actually saves him too wearing Sieg's armor. Youtube meeting up Patches for the very first time over at the church (we both missed it) for an incredibly hysterical interaction
Turns out I have the next two days off.
Looking forward to having a proper little session on it.
Got my Katana and shield, not just need to find some decent armour.
I have to say, I am a bit disappointed with the Katana so far. The twinblade, or whatever they are called, have much better attack animations.
I am gonna stick with the Katana as it is what I have completed every Souls game with.
The sword that drained your HP and the Uchigatana in DeS
The Iaita in DS1.
The Uchi in DS2, plus a lightning washing pole and dark blacksteel.
I just wished the Uchi had better scaling. My katanas in 2 had A and S scaling for Dex, but I saw on a wili that this only scales to C on regular.

By Hitch Go To PostKinda disappointed that none of the boss Souls so far let you make armour pieces or shortswordsyou get their armours by default after beating them off the Shrine Handmaid

Bought and equipped the Abyss Watchers armour, even though it has worse stats than the Brass

I am loving the undead settlement so far. It feels so much more vast and complex than anything in DS2

Thanks, I will head back.
I am so paranoid since seeing the one true Yurt imprisoned that I either do whatever an NPC who has been imprisoned says, or I kill them. Decided not to kill him.
I did kill a dick in DS2 who wanted me to kill other NPCs, couldn't trust him
