By Hitch Go To PostHow do you open illusory walls in this one?hit them
keep your eyes peeled, there's an entire secret area, including boss with trophy, behind one
By Hitch Go To PostCan you kill the dragon? He takes off before he's killed. Just run between his breaths. You'll take a little fire damage. He's not a factor.
Liking the Deep Battle Axe
Just got 2 things left at Highwall, the NPC locked behind a door, and the ladder behind the Priestess
No illusory walls as yet, no estus upgrades, and I'm not sure how to join the covenant

Sunflower, according to our resident Japanese correspondent OddMorsel, the story is a bit different on the Japanese version, as in, something was lost in translation and they took some liberties.
he's gonna post about it soon

thankfully the usurper quest isn't too hard, so I'll just do it again on my 2nd character
fucking gutted I missed Siegmeyer's questline though :( :( :( I met him just once on the lift and then I fucked off to some other area. Ah, in any case, soloing the Giant was brilliant, I loved it!
By Sunflower Go To Postuguu~ I wonder what it could be.I was inadvertently going for that too, but the Firekeeper's summoning sign was just too tempting not to press. So I ended up with The End of Fire. And for the first time in the history of Souls, I actually quite liked an ending ahah
I picked the Usurp ending.

Fucking messages. I've been hammering walls in one of the first areas in Lothric because some dude wrote on the floor that there's a hidden path.

Is it the wall with a broken staircase next to it?

I think.
That God damned douchebag.
I didn't realize there was upper levels to Firelink Shrine. Been trying to get myself up on the roof using jumping next o the treebark.
I can see an item.
How do you spot a potential illusion wall?
Also - guy by the side of Firelink i almost killed; last bit of health and then i fucked it, lol. Spoke to the woman in the church who gave me some shit, and then accidentally set fire to the church. What

Covenants are trash-tier in this. 2 dependant on other players equipping the babbymode covenant item you get from the npc lady in high wall. One of those covenants is a contemptuous butchering of an existing covenant from ds1. In 10 hours of having either of these covenants equipped, I've been summoned 4 times to help against invaders.
Sunbro is just sunbro. 2 other Covenants are just bell covenant gankfests mk 2 from dark souls 2. Play through the areas embered and suffer a constant train of 2 covenant invaders on top of any independent invaders, or equip the covenant items yourself and spend 10 minutes searching for the host and them a further 30 minutes chasing them when the usain bolt.
Some of the areas in the game are lazy as fuck. Real "we ran outta money" lategame dark souls 1 vibes. Loads of last gen flat surfaces and dodgy texturing. One secret area literally rips the look and structure of carthus but adds a shader decal to everything to make it fit the theme. Fucking fire slimes.
PvP is a huge joke. 50% of the time it's chasing someone whilst they sprint 5 miles whilst chugging estus every 10 seconds and dodging through everything.
There's a lot to like, but for the 3rd game in a series these things are in taking the piss territory.
Glad bloodborne did away with a lot of covenant tedium dark souls constantly suffers with

Facism, I know which area you're talking about it had lots of Daughters of Chaos nods, but the ones after it were all mint. I didn't mind it so much as it was brief. If I'm not mistaken I got my most powerful spell there
PVP is exactly what I've always wanted it to be, gankfests!! People seem to forget how dodgy covenants were even on DS1 lol. At least we have proper rewards for doing them now eh
really hope nobody misses the real secret area
it comes really late in the game so pay attention to the messages on the ground

Not really. collect 30 of these tedious items to unlock shit you might need via even more tedious PVP. 15 minutes of chasing, 30 seconds of actual fighting, 10 minutes of attacks not registering because holy shit 1v1 is hard to do without lag in 2016. A lot of the game's areas are too big for PVP, which leads to Benny Hill music chase sequences and frustration. At least in the Bell-Keepers covenant in DS2, the areas where relatively contained and conducive to actual fighting.
I'd hope they'd dump the frankly tedious nature of covenant rewards, but they seemed to just double-down on it all. Bloodborne felt like a positive step forward for souls-like games, whereas Dark Souls 3 seems like a stagnant, rushed effort. 2 fucking areas are just chalice dungeons, for fuck's sake. The one we're talking about is hilariously fucking lazy with loads of strewn bodies around as a quick "hey guys, this is Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith!!! No really!!! Even though we just copy/pasted Carthus, added some fire and paid no attention to the architectural design of those places in DS1!!! WOW look at those cindered Arch Trees!"
Smoldering Lake has none of the wonder or beauty of Ash Lake. It feels like it should, considering the implications of the area. It's a weak attempt at a throwback link to DS1. Anor Londo is the same. You kind of wonder if it is Anor Londo when you see it from a distance. Then you find the Darkmoon chamber, followed by the spiral staircase. Legitimate excitement until you realise it's just the entrance and the main hall, laying in ruin, but somehow the window to the ledge was fixed.
That said, i'm enjoying it enough. Currently DS1 > BB > DS2 = DS3.

yeah I wasnt a fan of that area, thankfully we could just rush straight to the boss next time 😂
I found the last 30% of the game to be fucking incredible. Anything beyond what you just mentioned
TBF Anor Londo was just a bonfire before a boss, and that's all it ought to be
I'm gonna remind Facism of his DS3 = DS2 after he finishes the game 😂
I mean, the last four bosses alone are better than anything this series has ever offered
absolute haram

Finding stamina management much more of an issue than it ever was in BB
Stability is the thing that defines how strong an attack you can block without being stunned, right?

yes, it determines how much stamina you lose when you block something and how hard the enemy rebounds off of it.
I think I accidentally killed some NPC outside of the first hub thing (to the right, at some grave with a sword next to it) I just saw something moving and I quickly gave him the sword and kicked him off the edge of the mountain. But in the second I started kicking him down, I am pretty sure he said something. So now I am not sure if it was an enemy or not.
Did I fuck up.

Apparently weapon reinforcement affects matchmaking when using a password. Guess that's why I couldn't co-op with Dean.

some hostile NPCs do comment before dying though! I've yet to trigger that event probably
I think Emil just killed the non-aggressive enemy that's purely there for you to kick off the cliff edge

I have no idea who it was. Doesn't show up on the other save I started to see if he was there. He surprised me as I missed him at first, then just instantly slashed and kicked him.

Also, will a balanced build work? I have like 15/14 on vitality, endurance, strength, dexterity, (I know there is one that is health and one that is defence, both of those), and wanna plug some in luck too. Is balance okay? Or should i specialise in something
I may need more vit
By n8 Go To Postvordtyeah dividing both str/dex works, most stats softcap i think at 40 points anyway

using a dex/int hybrid, magic seems to not have been adapted to the bloodborne speed of enemies at all
By Xpike Go To PostyeahGreat. Went in as a knight but put points into dex and str to wield the Uchigatana.

I'm having weight problems though, so currently using cloth armor because rolling gets to slow when I equip the given knight armor.
