Beat Pointiff. Took me FOREVER, that second phase was a killer.
@Yurt, checked around that cave place and found that worm and arrow thing that fires down at you also bumped into the boss behind it.
Went to the cave next to the worm on the right and got a Bonfire and a TON of large titanite shards. Not fully explored that area yet.
EDIT: Just got another Bonfire in there.

Just did the old demon king. Was not enjoying that fight must have taken about 8-10 goes.
I wanted to go toe to toe but didn't realise one of his attacks needed to be avoided.

there's a nice design touch on that boss
he kneels down, giving up at 5% health. 'Go ahead, end our race you twat'
the ring of fire and other effects were pretty damn cool too. I think I appreciated him more on my second playthrough

I liked the variety of his attacks, well only after I had beaten him lol.
when I saw him kneel down I ran away thinking he was gonna charge up some super powerful attack, then realised he was done.
I thought it was fairly easy that demon thing. The worm outside (which I still haven't killed) is harder I thought.

if you look closely, you could see that its made outta 100s of corpses http://abload.de/img/374320_201604240136030fsms.png http://abload.de/img/374320_201604240136136ls5u.png
Yurt, from my DS1 lets play I noticed bare Capra demons lying around there, lol
Beat Pontiff ten times today. Once with Anri, the rest as summons. What a boss.

it's great that you're enjoying the summons :D make sure you pick up your rewards off the covenants then!
By Kikarian Go To PostDo the sunlights do anything that you get from helping people?Yes! Later on you'll find a sunlight altar, where you'll be able to turn them in for rewards.
10 Sunlight Medals - Sacred Oath (a spell that boosts YOUR WHOLE PARTY'S attack and defense)
30 Sunlight Medals - Great Lightning Spear (you'll be Zeus basically)

Ok I am really struggling
I am facing Yorahamahma a giant or whatever, and I am dealing 60 damage, and it does nothing to him is he like in dark souls 2 when facing the king and you have to have the giants souls? Am i meant to have beaten the 3 giants that I have seen before? will that weaken him? Or do I have to just keep rolling, attack and dodge>

Don't think I'm gonna bother with that last boss
3rd Souls game in a row that I've left with a single boss left undefeated :(
Will probably come back to it at some point. Struggling for incentive though with no desire to play ng+

pathetic
It's the thing that is one of my main problems with the game tbh
The first stage of the boss is just a waste of time after a point, and I can't be bothered to do it every time just to get into the proper fight

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostOk I am really strugglingProbably my favourite boss tbh atm. You do not know how long it took me to realize you have to charge your weapon (storm sword that you get from the back of room where the boss is.) Once you do that it's just a case of dodging his attacks then charging your sword.

I am gonna avoid looking at that spoiler for now.
I now clocked what N8 meant about the chair thanks to Yurt's post.
Picked it up so will give it a swhirl at lunchtime.
I am sad that this thread has been removed as one of the highlighted threads.

It's the boss that I'm helping people with as it's the only one I know how to do consistently (it's extremely easy once you figure out what to do) and probably that demon thing behind the worm.
You are going a long, doing well against a boss, then his second phase happens :((( fuck me.
did it, the pope, on my third try, what a time
did it, the pope, on my third try, what a time
been helping people with the dragonslayer armour for a while, every single time the host of embers dies
the most amusing one was the host dying when it had like a pixel of health, so i killed the boss anyway but didn't get the bonus. wonder if it counts as beaten on his end.

The last boss is somehow a great nod to both bloodborne's final boss and the original Dark Soul's final boss - I loved it - it was a fitting end to these games, I think - new game+ I'm going to really take my time and see everything, it's such a dense world, bloodborne's pace of combat has carried over in a good way, but the interconnected areas and worlds that made the original Dark Souls such a fascinating place to explore are very much still present - I'd say it's noticeably harder than any other game From has made? Looking it up, I missed one optional area boss, but there were some real tough bosses in this, and the combat was just generally faster and meaner, it threw you in the deep end much faster than any other Souls game, especially compared to 2, which took about.. 8 hours to present a pretty challenging area or something like that? I'm sad there's not more games. I'm going to really enjoy new game plus, also the boss weapons and items are actually really good this time around! The greatsword from the abyss watchers and the straight sword from the princes are particularily incredible.

I really enjoyed reading that.
But we disagree on the difficulty lol.
But then again, I was the dummy who accidently joined the ultra hard covenent that made the first 8 hours feel like the hardest thing ever. One hit and dead.
Did you play scholars? I have read that they made many changes that made the game harder throughtout, plus the DLC felt impossible to me :(((
I haven't touched Scholar of the First Sin since like August, so memory is a little rusty on the difficulty. I haven't been super compelled to finish it.
Never even looked up what SotFS was
Saw some stuff about a lot of it being changed enemy placement in the base game, and that was the end of my interest.

SotFS made the game easier actually
Overall though, you die a lot in DS2 due to BS encounters where they throw dozens of enemies at you
not my definition of fun

Second part is so true. It is why i disn't enjoy it. The poison pit part was horrendous. Spitting statues, giant worms, some freaky puddle insects, and then a respawning dark phantom all after you at one.
Great Magic shield on a shield with 65 stability and you'll take no dmg or stamina drain from hits when blocking any attack.
yeah i brought the lothric knight shield (i think) it's pretty good. There are times where he just doesn't stop to attack, while i roll around like an idiot, blocking his shit and then get a stab in the face at the end of it.
The first phase is pretty easy, even solo no problem at all. Was trying to summon other players but that was even more frustrating. Summoning usually takes so long that I get invaded the moment someone joins for help. Almost got him down twice (like 5-10 % health) but was not patient enough -.-

playing through for the first time on ps4, first souls game, loved bloodborne and this was cheap.
About 3 hours in, this shit is eazy pz man. Dark Souls merely adapted to the blood, I was born in it. Free health regens every time you rest is amazing. I've rested at like 5 bonfires already. Took me like 4 hours to get the 2nd lamp in BB.
I probably could have KO'd that blue lightning cat with my fists if I tried, "turn back" lmao. The hardest things so far are the random enemies that turn into the big demon snakes, all my 2 or 3 deaths have come from them.
questions:
-what is ember?
-why am i on fire?
-why are these stat screens still so hard to understand?
Also:
Riposte is trickier than whatever it was called in BB,
If you use shields you are a fucking coward

Back to this after a five year break.
Straight away faced Dancer. Took me a bit to get a hang of the controls again. Kept healing instead of swinging my sword against her haha.
Took down the Dragonslayer Armor and then Twin Princes. Took care of the Consumed King and Ancient Wyvern(took me about 90 minutes slowly dodging its feet).
I really loved exploring Lothric Castle and Archives. the level design is my favourite part about these games. Nothing feels better than discovering a shortcut.
Just got the champion dude to take care, but Yurt's talked me into getting the DLC before I finish the main game. I think it will be harder to buy the DLC of fthe korean store than the game will be :(((.
