I've been watching the Stros/Yankees game on my Xbox and is MLB.tv always this janky? Every few innings, the picture will freeze and I'll have to reset the stream. I'm assuming this is just like more people than usual using the service for the opening week?
Someone remembered the Astros were playing :p

T-Mobile giving out free MLB.tv subs for the season this week. Great!
Local games are blacked out as part of league rules.

A little tapper in front of the mound, D'Arnaud fields it and throws to 1st AND THE BALLGAME IS OVER!!
9 up and 9 down for the Mets bullpen, Noah Syndegaard shuts down the Royals with 9 K's in 6 innings, Neil Walker accounts for the Mets' offense with a 2-run homer off Chris Young, and Familia notches his 1st save of the year!
I hope Mets fans in NY can step back off the ledge now.

Yeah but that means you would have to have tmobile
Fuking garbage service breh
Maybe in Texas, but in the north east it's fine. I'm sure Verizon or AT&T are better in Texas, but then you're living in Texas so....
Sanchez on fire today, holy shit. I know it's only the first start but he's looking entirely different compared to last season.
Yeah, he seems like he's getting stronger as the games gone on. He's blowing batters away these last three innings.
During spring training he was talking about how he bulked up and definitely seems like it now. Built a lot of muscle to keep that power going through 6+ innings. His fast balls touched 98-99 last season.
LOL Sportsnet jinxed Cecil so hard. They were talking about his 39 relief appearances without an earned run and lo and behold... two run homer.
By Fenderputty Go To PostIt's the padres, but Kazmir is pitching well. It's the Padres.
By blackace Go To PostM's looked way better6 HRs already in the first 2 games. Pretty solid start by the offense despite losing on Monday.
It's only 2 games, but Puig looks a lot more focused at the plate so far. I guess he fell behind in the count 94 times last year and of those instances he only walked 3 times. He's already got 2 walks this year and both were when he fell behind 1-2.
Besides pitching, a big aspect of our possible success this year lays on Puig maturing and bouncing back along with Seagar continuing to develop.
Tonight Maeda pitches. Hoping he does well.

I'll be watching Maeda very intently in late May... usually it takes about 6-7 start for a League to "catch up" to a pitcher and his stuff. The hyperbole over the dude is insane, and I want to see how he handles getting socked in the mouth.

The transition from the Japan leagues to the MLB is huge too with the reduced resting period. He could potentially be tiring out when the league "catches up"
By Fenderputty Go To PostThe transition from the Japan leagues to the MLB is huge too with the reduced resting period. He could potentially be tiring out when the league "catches up"Keep in mind compared to the insane workload he's had in Japan compared to the U.S., he'll going to be relatively fresher. The pitcher workouts from Spring Training and between starts are alot tougher in Japan, not to mention he'll be throwing a lot less innings. The key for him is not to pull a Daisuke, who absolutely would not change his pitching style. He'll need to be flexible and adjust on the fly.
Come on Cashner... can't be allowing homers to pitchers. Damn ever since the surgery his velocity has been crap.
By Fenderputty Go To PostIt's the Padres, but starting the season with three shutouts would be niceI kept downplaying it, but there's something to be said for beating the shit outta weaker competition. Get your confidence high and send a message to other teams, and that's what the Dodgers are doing. There are those who speak of their demise after losing Greinke and note the threats that are Arizona and San Francisco... a stretch of weaker competition can go a long way to pave the road of future dominance.

I guess it would tie an MLB record too. We're six outs away

By blackace Go To Postwell the mindset of playing to your level not your opponent's is a great thing in all sports…It happens the least in baseball due to a team being only as good as their starting pitcher most nights, as opposed to football/basketball where it can happen alot. But when it does usually heads start rolling.

I may want to watch dodger just for Maeda. マエケン has been trending for a while now with over 100k tweets.
I follow As because i live here at the moment. But I follow Yu Darvish cuz he is a hero and I follow Tanaka too.

He looked so happy when he hit that jack last night. He only hit two in 8 years in Japan and hit one last night before he even gives up a run. Pretty fun to watch
Dodgers rotation after Kershaw is question marks, it was the same last year only it was after Kershaw and Greinke.

There as talk that Wood had made some improvements this spring and was a different pitcher. Doesn't seem like it's the case, but who knows. It's not like Greinke did well his first outing. I'm hoping Ryu resembles his former self to some extent. He should be back in two weeks. If Maeda and Ryu can pitch decently then I'll still feel OK.
We're only down one run right now. Puig continues continues to rip shit up.
EDIT: Fucking Howel.
Yo, we just swept the Twins and in a hard fought game 3. Ubaldo Jimenez was strong in the win. 9 Ks through 7 innings.
Rookie LF Joey Rickard continues to develop and hit his first homer tonight to give us a two run lead heading into the ninth.
5 for 12; two runs scored; two RBI's and a HR for the series.
Tampa in town tomorrow night. They let Rickard go via the rule 5 daft back in December. Should be a good one. I'm going.

So DeGrom's back finally gave out after overcompensating for his wrecked elbow or shoulder (pick one!) have fun the rest of the season #mest
