By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostI didn't mean hating ass fans. I meant players and coaches. Everyone saying he's their Michael Jordan. Some fans saying he's an overrated Steve Francis.I know what you meant.
I'm content in knowing he's the former.
Your statement is just ... coloured. Most non-laker fans don't think of him the same way as laker fans.
The same way most people won't remember Nash the same way I will. Nor how Ace remembers Payton.
Nor how I think Devin Booker has a real chance to become at least Ray Allen good (his role reminds me of Ray, lots of play making out of the SG spot while being really good at everything a SG is meant to be good at).
I'll help put it more in perspective.
I didnt' wake up this morning thinking "damn, it's kobes last day, time to have beers and watch the game".
Too busy watching Descendants of the Sun (not related to bball team the Suns).

I don't know who the female host of this is, but she's really good. Every time I've seen a segment with her hosting she's really good at steering the conversation, but, with out having to rely on pre-meditated questions. Really good at listening to the guests and getting a real conversational flow going.
Rachel Nichols. She's awesome.

I get that. And that part makes sense. Kobe to my generation of die hard Laker Fans is like what Larry Bird means to Bill Simmons' Generation of Celtics fans.
I'm just saying that whatever emotional attachments we have, our overall consensus is pretty darn close to the overall NBA consensus on him. The fans in other cities may not care as much, but the entire NBA community is obviously treating this and him as a big deal.
Just because Chicago fans were emotionally attached to MJ doesn't mean that the haters in other cities who thought he was just a selfish overrated ball hog were any more right. That's all I'm saying. But honestly, at this point I don't care. It's an hour away, this shit is crazy. So many people I know are just in their feels atm
im just glad guys like Cousins are getting rest so he can be fully ready for next season of continuing to be a loser

Wait, you've never seen Rachel Nichols before?
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostWait, you've never seen Rachel Nichols before? Before this year? Probably not.
Not that i ever remember anyway.
Not getting cable tv here in AU means that I don't really ever seen the ESPN talk shows. (and even then, the american ones are only broadcast at like 10am)

Kobe is a legend... I never really liked him but it cannot be denied that he is a legend to the game.
His NBA story wasn't quite a fairytale as MJ's was which is why his faults as a player gets looked more closely than MJ imo..
But dude is one of the greatest basketball players seen...
By unknown Go To Posthow could anyone hate kobe.I am going to respect his day by just saying...it's not hard
By blackace Go To Postalso lol at the Kings talking about Vinny, Mark and Brooks…You know. I think Brooks at least ran an OK basketball program. And he was a good company man. Good at connecting with the players. And was able to run a tight ship.
I don't think they win a championship under brooks. But if you leave him there for 4 years, the Kings might not be such a joke of a organisation. And I think they make the play offs twice.
He doesn't need to come up with an amazing offense with Boogie there either.
Of all the choices, I think Brooks might really be the best for them.
I don't mind him for Minny but I think they need a guy who can install a scheme to get the best out of two shaky-shooters like Wiggins and Rubio. Though I don't know who that is.

I'm a huge Kobe fan, but really?
By unknown Go To Posthow could anyone hate kobe.Hating someone for being a gigantic asshole (and a crusher of dreams) is possible while also respecting their competitive drive and accomplishments. It's the complexity of people that allows you to fucking despise them while respecting their hustle.

Oh yeah.... Can't forget McHale.
At least Brooks and Thibs are wanted... that should be a rule for the Kings from now on.. Is this coach wanted by another team? If no don't hire
Kings would be some crazy huge fuckery (it kind of is) if enough people actually gave a fuck about the Kings.
Rachel Nichols @Rachel__Nichols 9 minil y a 9 minutes...
The #Lakers are giving fans sitting courtside tonight this toy 'replica' of Kobe. I use this term loosely.
My feels tonight are mostly related to the future without Kobe. It's just gonna be weird. I watched the lakers prior to him, but I really became a huge fan of sports in general during high school. He's been the lakers almost as much as he's been B-ball for me
By P S Y C H Go To Post5 points in the third……Even the freaking Grizzlies always score at least 15 pts a quarter.
smh
When you consider court side tix were something like $25,000 for tonights game at staples, a $50 toy seems........... cheap.
By vic Go To PostLooks like outside of a raptors playoff game.
Wow
It's actually kind of insulting that Kobe's last game gives fans a toy that looks like Evander Holyfield
Dude is one of the greatest Lakers ever and you couldn't be bothered to hire someone older than 5 to make a commemorative figure.
