Supposedly the sales team in Philly is telling season ticket holders that they did everything they could to keep Sam. Guess he really quit cause he felt like he was being undermined with the recent hires.

Re: Randle.
I want to like him, but unlike other guys who have had broken jumpers, his entire future as a starter hinges on his jumper. He doesn't score efficiently as is, he doesn't play decent defense. The one thing he does do well is rebound but he's gonna need to be more than that to keep his starting role. He's an offense only PF whose offensive game has a giant hole in it.

I mean, I didn't expect him to improve his jumper a bunch in a year. Other than rebounding, he handles the ball well and passes well too. So his offensive game is a little more well rounded than your post would imply. That being said, he does need a lot of work. His jumper, his right hand and his defense all need to improve for him to be a key component of our future. I would actually like to see him improve his defense before he improves his jumper.
Randle's shooting % outside of 3 feet is....😧😨😰😱
But yea, you're right, he handles well for his size and is a decent passer for the position. It's kinda all for nothing if you sag off of him outside of 3 feet lol

538's projections for the rest of the year:
Warriors: 72
Spurs: 68
Cavaliers: 58
Thunder: 56
Hornets: 47 (!!!)
Blazers: 45 (!!!)
Grizzlies: 43
Jazz: 42
Rockets: 41
Mavericks: 41
Warriors: 72
Spurs: 68
Cavaliers: 58
Thunder: 56
Hornets: 47 (!!!)
Blazers: 45 (!!!)
Grizzlies: 43
Jazz: 42
Rockets: 41
Mavericks: 41
The Lakers have a 44% chance of losing their draft pick in 2016 and therefore activating a trade provision that will force them to give their 2018 draft pick to the Magic.
More than 2/5 probability that their franchise could die for the foreseeable future is kind of impressive.

Jazz will beat the Mavs and lose at least one of those games they arent supposed to.

There's more than a couple GMs in the league who prove that one can't simply only look at numbers and players as nonpersons. Teams need cohesion and a GM who sees more than a stat line. How does this player truly fit in my system? How does he gel with the other personalities? Will injuries resurface? Will a number one draft pick really be the answer to organizational wide problems?
I wouldn't come close to being a good one nor do I want to armchair but jfc some of the general managing I see on some teams leaves me wondering just what the fuck is going on within some organizations.

That would put the East
3.Boston
4.Miami
5.Atlanta
6.Charlotte

Just read Hinke's manifesto.
Clearly a hyper intelligent guy. Wish he hadn't stepped down. Would have been very interesting to see how his process played out.

The Philly ownership, for good reason, lost faith in Hinkie to make the decisions during this upcoming draft. The move was never about changing course midway through the season and acquiring talent. It was about "ok so this guy insists we play darts and we might as well for another year, but let's maybe replace the guy who refuses to take his blind fold off"

The grizz finishing 6th sucks. They need to fall to 8th. They aren't going to win a game no matter who they play so they need to maximize draft positioning. Also it's pretty incredible/sad that only the Blazers will (likely) catch us.

By DY_nasty Go To PostJah is good though. Honestly most of their picks have been. He just keeps trying to double up.Well, Noel and Okafor and both are good (though I'm less sold on Okafor), but they can't play together. At some point actual roster construction has be considered. And sure, I bet one of them gets traded this summer, but Hinkie could've already done that and already put into place a more clear vision for the team besides continuing to just bottom out and collect assets.

Poor dy, only 2 short of 49 wins.
People are missing the point tho. The issue isn't that Hinkie is gone (to me at least,...some people are mad creepy tho lol) but rather the fact that he is immediately replaced w/ a shittier GM, who just happens to be the son of the guy brought on board to babysit Hinkie. Also Colangelo (and son) tried to buy the Hawks...and Harris is tottally in the market to sell,...hmmm wonder what will happen there.
Fuck the process overall but the simple fact that we spent 3 years of this shit, only to potentially not see it through it and just return to same ole shit that ended with us having fuck all in terms of assets. It is a real slap in the face that we spent 3 years hearing "be patient gaiz, gud stuff be comin" only for the ownership to suddenly stop being patient. Also their plan to have a 3 man cell for the FO is mind numbing since that is what caused the previous regime to implode....it just reeks of the fact that these dopes have no fucking clue what they are doing....and that is scary as hell because they will force dumb shit that will kill us long term. Moreso since Harris is trying to sell....so he has to get the value up asap.
we are fucked. Hinkie needed to go more than likely and I wont miss him....but swerving to the opposite direction after 3 years of "the process" ASAP...it going to suck.
BUT, I will wait to see if Bryan learned ANYTHING from his time off but man I don't feel to confident on that.

He is. By default. I frequented a lot of Raptors boards back in the day and I can't think of anyone who liked Bryan.... I did not mind getting rid of Hinkie. I just rather they actually have a real search for his replacement and get someone new rather than a guy who failed at the exact shit we need right now (signing FAs and making trades).
but yes I am broken...because I have seen Sixers fuckery enough to know to not expect good things lol.

By blackace Go To PostTanking for 3 years should be a war crimeYeah, I definitely couldn't have taken three straight years. The two years the Wolves did under David Kahn were so tough. When they brought in Adelman and actually went for it, basketball was so much more enjoyable. They didn't end up doing anything, and then the year that was supposed to be turned into a really fractured locker room and Kevin Love moping his way out of town, but having a team that at least tries, I mean, that's all you can ask.
The Hinkie thing is such a mess.
It's like a movie about buying stocks. Everyone was shouting at Hinkie to buy cause there was no way it would dip any lower before skyrocketing back up but Hinkie held his hand up "wait for it.....wait....just a bit longer ....waaaaaait" and right before the moment where he was supposed to or expected to shout "BUY, BUY IT ALL NOW", he noticed he was being pushed out of the company and just went silent and walked out the front door.
What the 6ers are currently certainly could be used as evidence against tanking, or tanking this particular way. But I personally would have liked a more definitive ending.
