in all seriousness, Yorgos Lanthimos directing Colin Farrell in a dystopian near future, what more do you want?
Since S4 my interest in GoT has been decreasing.
The more they divert from source the worse it gets. I'm not a zealot for sticking to the source material either. It's noticeable to me that when the showrunners have to fill in the gaps the plot suffers. Their characterization of Stannis is a low point.

I don't know the source material, so I can only say stuff about the show I'm watching.
Season 5 was not a good season. It was terrible. Both in terms of execution as well as plot progression.
Remember the entire plotline around Jamie Lannister and Dorne? That was horrendous. The fights, the limited sets, the acting. All around atrocious. And don't even get me started about the Khaleesi storyline and that hamfisted dragon appearence in the arena.
Maybe S4 was already spiralling downwards in terms of interest. But boy. S5 was just straight up trash.
BTW: Amercian Crime - The People vs OJ Simpson is the best goddamn TV show of the last 2 years. I watched it and was acting like Clay Davis every episode. Sheeeeeeeeeeit.
By DerZuhälter Go To PostI don't know the source material, so I can only say stuff about the show I'm watching. The Danaerys storyline isn't much better in the books tbh. The idea of a young woman growing into the role of leader is an interesting one, but it's just boring when written down/shown on screen.

The Dorne plot was a massive waste. They cut so much of what made it interesting on paper that they may as well not have used it in the show. The Sand Sharks are completely different to their book counterparts. There wouldn't be a problem with this if the show made any real effort in differentiating why they've done X when they never would have in the books. But it hasn't.

GOT has been trash for a while now. The zeitgeist has people believing it is this pinnacle of story telling, it is the pinnacle of nothing truly. The Wire smashes it into oblivion as do other shows. The constant praise the show receives from 'critics' is mind boggling, it peaked in season 1.
I've seen nothing of Renato but given Viva's description he sounds like a fat Depay. To be quite honest the idea of buying a foetus winger after having and releasing Di Maria is a bit jokes.
Also don't see why Rooney in midfield is a good idea when he can't fucking pass.
Saying that I'm advocating Lucas at central defence on Thursday. I can see Kolo losing his mind and flattening someone in our area.

I'm just staggered at the "be the new Scholes" bollocks on it. As if this is anything more than a way to keep him in the 11 when he can't play his position anymore.

Rooney will work in midfield only and only if he is played along with Schneiderlin who takes all the responsibility of defending which he more than capable of doing.
Herrera Schneiderlin Rooney midfield in 4-3-3 would be absolutely lovely.

Either he leaves (which is doubtful) or play somewhere he's currently good at. Guess which lesser evil I'm preferring.
Renato is a winger.
Renato is fat.
God dam you're ignorant premfaces.
Just shut the fuck up and don't buy him.
It might be stupid for some of you but Rooney in midfield has actually helped our attack. We are playing better at the moment.
In fairness I did preface that post with "I've never seen him." I must've wrongly assumed he's one of those wide attacking types.
Apologies, maybe he is a central midfielder as someone suggested. Which means the club with the biggest financial clout in the most financially prosperous league don't have to shoehorn a player into an unnatural position, as opposed to just benching him or selling him.

By Vivalapizza Go To PostRooney is never going to work in midfield. Pls stop.
This basically. He's not going to survive against a midfield that isn't proper shit or already checked out of the season, as the second half showed on Saturday. He is v good against those midfields though.
By Vivalapizza Go To PostRooney is never going to work in midfield. Pls stop. You just need to come to the terms with the fact that he is not gonna be dropped. not gonna be benched. Nor is he gonna fuck off to any other club anytime soon.
So if he is gonna stick around the best place would be to put him in a CM instead of blocking developments of Rashford and Martial playing him a Cf where he keeps fucking up chance after chance after chance. Playing him as the CM is the best compromise. Ofcourse the ideal situation being he is out injured for the whole season.

I don't think midfield is the best place to put him though. The best place would be either wide left or wide right. Otherwise behind the striker.
Not in midfield where he will fuck everything up and get the run round right at the heart of the team.
By Vivalapizza Go To PostI have come to that realisation, a long time ago.Thats why playing him next to Schneiderlin and herrera will work great. If he plays alongside non entity that are Carrick or Fellaini we are gonna be fucked. HARD.

Mourinho would drop him. It's just whether you get Mourinho.
I also don't think Rashford is actually that good. Neither is Lingard. Pair of em need to accelerate their route to West Brom.

Why would anybody want to sell this beautiful 18 year old boy.
I wouldn't.
Buy João Mário instead. He's good.

By Arnie Go To PostMourinho would drop him. It's just whether you get Mourinho.I'm with you on Lingard. Can't shoot and isn't a great passer. But he's quick and in a league where the standard of defending is shocking you can become a useful player if you've a bit of pace. Rashford looks the business to me though. He has pace but also good movement in the box and is a decent finisher. Probably won't be as good as some hope he'll be. But for now he's a very promising prospect.
I also don't think Rashford is actually that good. Neither is Lingard. Pair of em need to accelerate their route to West Brom.
Martial is the real deal though. Has everything to be world class. He's the player United should look to build the team around.
If City beat Arsenal it is absolutely a possibility that United manage it. Which is scandalous when you consider how many meak performances they've put in this season. Everton aside I don't think I can remember them putting in that good a performance (even when you demolished us we were in the middle of a Battleship mayday distress call).
Conversely we've had moments of absolute blistering genius, pure Kloppball, followed up with Simon Mignolet's Greatest Hits. Seven points lost when two goals ahead against the likes of a Sunderland, Newcastle and Southampton.
Please just buy me a good keeper. We tried and failed for Ter Stegen. Get me someone.

I've been saying this since Octoberrrrr
the coveted Arsenal moral double will be won by Gaaaaal. 4th and FA cupppp, I have some money riding on this
shame they can't go for the moral treble and win the Emirates cup

Games in which we've played well this season
Everton away
First half of the semi final
First half of Arsenal at home
City away
Stoke at home
Bruges at home
Midgetland at home.
We've played like 50 games this season. And we've been good in around 5 of them on average.
Disgusting.

if the opposition doesn't press and leaves him with acres of space then yeah, Rooney may be effective in that role.
But often times his spatial awareness always sees him caught on the ball. Against a high-pressing side, he would be found wanting

Wouldn't say we actually played well against Everton in the first half on the weekend. It was okay but not "well". We gave up at least 2 clear chances. Well compared to the rest of the shit I guess.
I've missed a lot of games so can't speak for the season as a whole but I thought we played quite well vs Chelsea A. Not winning that game was a bit of a sucker punch.

everyone is available, not sure how fit ronaldo, benzema and carvajal are though
Ronaldo likely to be more fit than Benz with that extra rest he's had. Doubt we see Benz in the first leg, Carvajal to get some time in the second half I think.
Hopefully Danilo isn't too dire 🌚

Ehhhh. All much of a muchness :lol. Good performances have been few and far between.
Rashford could make it. Only a young'un after all.
Lingard is shit though. Will be surprised if he's still there next season.

Also, truly honoured by the returns of Arnie, Viva and Will on the same day. It's like having group sex with Destiny's Child.
Yeah, I would love to have someone better in midfield but since Rooney is undroppable, I don't see anywhere else he can be. Putting him wide will give us a 2012-2013 Valencia/Young situation.
Rashford's good. Plays rough, and tries to stay on his feet most of the time. Something Januzaj should've been.
Lingard is meh yeah.
