By Kidjr Go To PostAnyone watching the race? This track is kinda boring tbh although Hamilton has been struggling on these softs
Has Ferrari won yet?
That was a usual boring Hungaroring GP (except Q. session), decided by the start and the 1st stops. Only fun part was a bit nasty Max on the outer side of the limit defending of Kimi.
Next week hopefully bit more excitement in Germany.

Last race, Hockenheimring, before the summer brake and Nico's change to stop Lewis his momentum on home turf.
DannyRics 100 GP at Red Bull
Troubles at Ferrari with their technical director, James Allison, leaving when 2017 is just around the corner.
And unless last week, their might actually be some overtaking this week.
By Kidjr Go To PostWhat beautiful pictures, where are you getting them from?I thought the logo gave it away ;)
But F1fanatic has the best quality/resolution and the guy picking them has a good eye, normal race weekend pictures.
One of my favourite, bit more "artistic" F1 photographer is Darren Heath

Thanks, qualifying should be fun as always!
By Kidjr Go To PostThe hell did Lewis do?you mean in Free Practice 3, if so, unsafe release.

Might get a (grid)penalty for it, who knows what mood the stewards are in ;)
[edit]Hamilton escapes penalty for unsafe release in FP3 (@autosport)
Bit weird final session, when no one seemed to do a faultless lap. Good one from Nico after technical issue in his first lap in Q3!
Tomorrow I think is gunna be hype. I think Hamilton needs to get more out of his car but he's more than capable
By Kidjr Go To PostTomorrow I think is gunna be hype. I think Hamilton needs to get more out of his car but he's more than capableThis circuit offers enough opportunities, even between team mates, for some good racing, so should be good.
Also with Max close to Daniel, Kimi just ahead Sebas and there's hardly anything between p7/10.
Hamilton locked up his front right in the hairpin. He surely is the faster driver.
Hopefully he doesnt jump Rosberg on the start cause i wanna see some Mercedes drama. If he does, than he will cruise to another win.

roseberg was carrying more fuel I believe
By Kidjr Go To PostWhy is that even being investigated, roseberg had position on trackYou have to give room to your opponent
Oh baby red bull are chasing roseberg HARD
5 second grid penalty, plus 2.5 for tyre switch? What's that race time?

Ehhhh it wasn't dangerous what roseberg did tho
By Kidjr Go To PostEhhhh it wasn't dangerous what roseberg did thoFor me it was fair to punish him. He only won the battle cause he pushed him off the track in my view. He braked too late.
Love Nico's explanation though "Explain to them I was at full steering lock". Yeah, but you braked 20 meters too late, you dingus.

I guess just a diff of opinion.
Red bull vs roseberg what a race

Double Red Bull podium. I'll take it.
I think Lewis is happier to win with Red Bull than he is with his own team mate. Haha.

Better race than in Hungary, Lewis won it at the start and controlled it from then on.
Deserved penalty for Nico (maybe 55/45,) like in Austria, he is pushing people before the "imaginary" apex, not on corner exit (then it would be ok), although this time because he braked (divebomb) so late. Penalty it self a joke, because he gained track position and in most races they are fast enough to win that 5 seconds back (today luckily not)
Daniel faster than Max al weekend, other than at the start, but team did what it had to do to beat Nico and the Ferrari's.
And Hulk on top of Perez, needed that one and nice points for Button and now summer brake and time for the O.S. in Rio.
This season has been pretty boring, but seems like the race for the second best team is heating up? And also I'm impressed that Haas has taken that many points and surprised that Sauber is at 0.

F1 is so predictable when Hamilton is in first after the first lap :P
Llllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeettsss go! more hyped for F1 than I am anything else this weekend tbh (cus Arsenal are Arsenal).
So looks like Lewis is taking his grid penalty for swapping engine parts and start at the back. So I think scoring points should be his aim this weekend.
Roseberg HAS to win this weekend, no ifs or buts about it.

Have to agree, Rosberg has to take the golden oppertunity he's been gifted by better reliability and take the win, there's no reason to think he won't.
The interesting question about Hamilton is whether Mercedes will only give him one new engine or two. Since grid penalties cannot be carried over to the next race, taking a new engine will result in the same penalty as taking 2 new engines (one for quali and one for the race) of starting from the back.
Since he'd be at the back anyway, they can enter Q3 and just go fast enough to put a time in and then save all his tyres of choice for the Sunday. Then dismantle the car and put the second engine in. I'm sure if they did choose to do that, the rule will be changed for next season.
Also, these are some mockups of what a 2017 car would look like with the new lower wider rear wing and the wider tyres.

Yeah hooray summer brake is over, although looking at the current weather it is mighty hot at my favourite track of the F1 calendar.
Always enjoy a racing weekend in the Belgium Ardennes in Spa and even though it is not what it once was, Eau Rouge is still an amazing corner,
even though it is easy flat out in modern day F1 cars.
Hopefully the High pressure front moves it ass and we get a bit more classic Spa weather and not just 30+ sunshine.
And one friendly warning if your TV set turns a bit orange this weekend, don't adjust your settings, I'm afraid we will see a lot of these lads this weekend
And lastly, other than the were will Lewis end up, I'm curious to see how Ocon will shape up against another highly regarded rookie.
"Mercedes are juggling, trying to minimise the pain and maximise the opportunity. They will put in some new engines into Lewis’ car but what is complicating matters is that there are upgrades coming. They don’t want to give him a load of new engines now and he misses out on an upgrade and he then has to take a penalty later in the season"
So while he needs new units, they also have upgrades on the way that they want him to have. So they need to try and minimise any loss now and then again later.

Ehh I'm confused, some clarity would be appreciated.
So my rough understanding that you can replace certain units in the car x amount of times before you get a penalty? Surely swapping out the whole engine would allow for more leeway when upgrades come?
By Kidjr Go To PostEhh I'm confused, some clarity would be appreciated.

You have 5 whole "power units" for the season, each unit comprises of 6 constituent parts, the Engine, the turbo, etc etc. You can swap these parts over however you want without penalty.
Lewis has already used all 5 of some of his components, as some popped. The remaining units will not last the season.
Now, Mercedes can give him a whole new PU, which will start him at the back of the grid with a whole collection of new parts, or they can give him individual components of the things he needs for a smaller penalty. Mercedes issue is that they want to introduce an engine upgrade, and you cant upgrade a part that's already in the pool, it has to be a new part. So they don't want to give Lewis a couple of engines now, only to have to give him another penalty later to give him the upgraded parts.
Nico doesn't have this problem, as he hasn't yet used many parts from his pool.
The latest from sky
"For Lewis Hamilton and his penalties the understanding is, we've not got official confirmation yet, but there's a brand new power unit going in and being run at the moment for FP1. That's coming out at the end of this session and there's another brand new unit going in for FP2 and then that's coming out overnight. Then there's a brand new unit going in for FP3.
"If that's the case he'll break the record currently held by Jenson Button for the most amount of grid penalties for one race, it will be 75. You get a 10-place grid penalty for the first sixth of the power unit elements you take, then you get five extra places for each subsequent element you take."
