By reilo Go To PostI have the C9 and outside of the annoying resolution/HDR switch lag, it works best with AppleTV – which also has Plex.sadly, the apple tv only outputs Dolby and PCM audio. it's the only real sticking point keeping it from being the a no-questions-asked recommendation. :(
What other audio formats even matter? 99.9% of people won't even have the setup to even care, and those that care about a good home audio setup will prioritize Dolby anyway.

e: oh fuck, i forgot one of the super important ones: it doesn't support Dolby True HD, which is what a lot of blu rays ship with
e2: it also doesn't support passthrough audio so you can't pass the audio to a receiver to decode. the kinda stuff it doesn't support is mostly the domain of people who rip their own movies and want to stream things through the apple tv at disc-level quality
By Kibner Go To Postall the DTS formats and several different music formats like FLAC and suchYeah, that’s my issue entirely. I’m pretty ready to move on from my shield because of all the ad focussed UI changes Google made, but p4p it’s still the best 4K Plex device out there

Meta is temporarily shutting Threads down in Turkey on April 29th.Because of a temporary injunction (PDF) from the Turkish Competition Authority (TCA), which ruled that linking Threads and Instagram data without user opt-in abuses Meta’s social media dominance.LOL
It's well and alive now and completely unusable and shit because a bunch of Taylor Swift fans jumped on

Nice, gonna read this when I get home.
I found it fascinating how so much of our daily lives are determined by the conditions in the extremes of space and the ocean floor.

Thank God for reviews.
I've noticed that due to the enshittification of Google search, I can basically no longer find product reviews for a lot of things these days.
By Laboured Go To PostI've noticed that due to the enshittification of Google search, I can basically no longer find product reviews for a lot of things these days. It's a symbiotic relationship.
Google's search algorithm prefers xyz and big media companies that own multiple properties are churning out the same nonsense review content to make it to Google's top of search results when you are looking for, say, a vacuum cleaner, a shit top-10 list from Rolling Stones will pop-up.
This has been posted before, but they make a good case: https://housefresh.com/david-vs-digital-goliaths/

Are we sure this wasn't also co-written by reilo?
A couple of weeks ago, I ran out of screen on the one external monitor my work-issued MacBook Air can run.
By Laboured Go To PostAre we sure this wasn't also co-written by reilo?no no, he got the MBP partly because it allows for more external monitors. i'm the one that has the MBA that is limited to a single external display. this article was written by me. 100%. full stop.
even worse are articles where the answer is after 3 pages of just ai generated garbage to pad the article so you spend longer on the website to find the piece of information you are looking for.
As always, an incredibly powerful iPad that's still just an iPad.
My 2018 pro is still too powerful for what that thing can do

fucking hell i love all of these and wish i had the like 10k USD to buy all of them (optimus prime, grimlock, and now megatron):
I have the Robosen/Hasbro Optimus Prime Transformer. Bridget's video back in 2021 sold me on it. I did not buy the trailer that they released in the last couple of years tho. The remote control via the phone app is good. Used Optimus to bother my cat.
She's about to get me to put in an order for Megatron...

But GM had ensured that wasn’t possible. The new Blazer was the first test of GM Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra’s risky bet to replace CarPlay with an alternative it had built itself. GM is gambling that its own software group, led by recruits from Apple, Amazon.com and Google, can create a better dashboard experience, supplant CarPlay, and eventually reap massive digital sales.
Hence Ultifi. GM says it hopes the software platform can spark a boom in service add-ons and paid subscriptions for services such as assisted-driving systems and premium safety features.
The previous October, Barra had delivered an audacious address to investors at GM’s sprawling Tech Center in Warren, Michigan, pledging to double annual revenue, to $280 billion, by the end of the decade. A significant part of that growth would come from subscriptions developed for its homegrown Ultifi ecosystem, introduced days before the shareholder gathering. Barra took to saying that GM was transitioning from an automaker to a “platform innovator.”https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2024-05-01/will-gm-regret-kicking-apple-carplay-off-the-dashboard
Hell yea baby ditch a feature customers absolutely want and love so you can reap massive digital sales to pump shareholder value with an inferior shittier version
Is there anything dangerous about touching the keyboard directly? As in, both the key cap and the little plastic(rubber?) spring are removed.
By Rob Go To PostGonna recommend that to my wife
Does it matter which flavor?
What Dipro done said.
By s y Go To PostIs there anything dangerous about touching the keyboard directly? As in, both the key cap and the little plastic(rubber?) spring are removed.no. but if the keyboard gets wet, let it completely dry before plugging it back in. might take a couple days.
