Switched to Apple Maps 45 days ago after being dumb and tired of Google flat out taking me the wrong routes. One time Google Maps even told me turn the wrong way into a one way. Not to mention all the ways it will take me on side roads that are exhausting to drive on (for the love of god stop telling me to exit onto Jamaica Ave only to tell me to merge back on the fucking freeway at the next entrance), worse for fuel efficiency, and saves me no more than a minute. Or other times when it's given me directions onto a toll route that was actually longer than the alternate free route on a different freeway. The UX somehow has too much information and not enough -- forget about it being able to tell you which lane to be in as you near your exit. It's flat out sucks now.
Apple Maps is better in many small ways that add up to a ton and gives more logical routes that are typically faster and less exhausting to drive on.
Never used google for directions. Always used Apple Maps just cuz it was the default and I never really had issues.
