Looks like a neat proof of concept for ubiquitous technology that might work properly 20 years from now

Price is whatever no one is going to buy this other than developers. End game prob some Google Glass-like thing.

I could see this being bought instead of a TV? Idk. I have no use for it myself.

My one Apple purchase of the last 15 years has been this M2 Air and I love it and would recommend to just about anyone. Literally nothing else they have shown interests me, though.
Maybe if I could get one of the M2 SoC's and use it for a giant NAS/Plex/Lancache server with like 14 drives on a ZFS array.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostAre you not the resident Apple Guy? Or is that someone else lol.I just spent 6 posts shitting on it!
Everyone knows people love wearable social tech that makes you look like a fucking cunt. There are just so many examples of it being successful.
By reilo Go To PostI just spent 6 posts shitting on it!That’s why I said the future, like 5-10 years. True Apple lads know you never buy the first version of something
They should’ve show a moment where you’re watching a movie lying down looking at the ceiling.
Don’t get why people are hating on this tech y’all poor imo

This is so true hahaha
This ended up being way further along than I thought it would be as a gen 1 product. Actually looks like it could be fairly comfortably used on day 1 to replace a workstation if your daily platform is an imac or macbook, while doing the same with something like Oculus Pro seemed unlikely to be productive.
I'd be sweating if I were Meta...they'll have to invest even more money to be competitive in the space.

The only usability differences I see between this and a VR experience I saw at a local computer store in rural Louisiana in the mid 90s is a (short, 2 hours lol) battery life as opposed to no battery and vision pass through to see surroundings around you instead of completely opaque.
Still nearly all the same problems from 30 years ago: super bulky, super expensive, highly limited applications outside of video games, etc.

Vision Pro looks absolutely insane. That price is fuckin nuts.
Tech bros need to be reigned in. Why would you ever wear this dumb shit while talking to someone. Then you end a conversation looking like

By reilo Go To Postwow nicei want it but M2 :/
$1299
i would have to bump up the ssd because of the single nand chip thing and bump up the ram since apple still sells 8gb base models lol.
it would be over $2000 for notebook with a 60hz screen.
By DiPro Go To Posti want it but M2 :/
Will absolutely grab it when they drop the M3. Know I'd feel some kind of way if they drop the next version with the expected performance and battery gains
that apple VR AR thing seems to me like a really nice one of a device i already used plenty of times.
By bud Go To PostWill be nice to wear in the ski slopes tbh
this thing looks incredible.
By Fenderputty Go To PostSome dude in Reddit had a write up using surfshark and a geolocation blocker in chrome. He turned the VPN off after logging in to NBALP to watch while keeping the blocker on …So, surfshark works with mlb.tv without even having to do anything. Too bad it’s the finals cuz I would try seeing if maybe something changed
Everything on Reddit feels like a VPN bot though
With my new fiber at the door I can get DirextTV Stream but I would be laying 100$ a month just to watch dodgers and lakers.
I watch nothing else on cable :/
Or maybe mlb tv just doesn’t care about vpns
Nvm someone snitched
Got to like the 8th inning of the Mets game and then I got some notification about the steam not being available

I’ve always liked Windscribe as a VPN, cause the apps are good, and they’re also a little more under the radar so don’t get their IPs blocked quite as much
Retired my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 after 6 years. What a device. It survived at least a couple dozen drops and even a full immersion, however the latter did leave a fair bit of water damage on the screen, plus my bank's app doesn't work with older Android versions anymore, so I made the call.
Decided to splurge on a phone for once and got myself a Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G for 250€. May it serve me at least 5 years.

Why do you feel that way?
You think its dumb cuz it won’t work, or cuz it’s not something worth protesting

I did however rely on the explanation of the situation from a software developer friend because I probably don't care enough about reddit enough to really dig deep myself lol

Probably the biggest thing is that the API changes are making it so that everyone will be using the built-in reddit tools and apps to moderate and use reddit and whatnot and those things suck shit compared to the third party apps that are being killed off.
It won't affect anything in the long run unless people actually keep those subs shut down and just go somewhere else to talk.
