Apple’s version of this feature eventually forced Google to hack those tapback reactions into Messages; Google’s clearly hoping it can annoy iPhone users enough to persuade Apple to buy into RCS. “We would much prefer that everybody adopts RCS,” Jedrzejowicz said, “which has the capability to support proper reactions, but in the event that’s not possible or hasn’t happened yet, this feels like the next best thing.”
Been hearing all summer what a shitshow Stage Manager is on iPad, but fuck me it’s so so bad I wasn’t ready for it.

Ipad and macbook that I have are C, din’t understand why they would not be happy.
By Laboured Go To PostJesus.Shame that visual art doesnt have the same level of backing that music does.
None of the music AI programs even dare to use a second of copyrighted songs for training but they couldn't give less of a fuck about images.
It's fucking shitty, and there should absolutely be a legal challenge re commercialising AI produced images trained on other authors' works without consent (and authors should be looking to actively deny consent to such use). The whole issue is going to come to a head.
Getty Images called out the copyright infringement concerns which is why they won't support AI generated images.
Gods bless him, 30 years from now he'll be hailed as the og VR visionary, the man who believed when no one else would.

Trying to give Stage Manager on MacOS a fair shake and I'm not sure what problem it is supposed to solve. Feels like it should be rolled into the dock rather than be it's own separate sidebar.

The AMD EPYC 9004 series, codenamed “Genoa” is nothing short of a game-changer. We use that often in the industry, but this is not a 15-25% generational improvement. The new AMD EPYC Genoa changes the very foundation of what it means to be a server. This is a 50-60% (or more) per-socket improvement, meaning we get a 3:2 or 2:1 consolidation just from a generation ago. If you are coming from 3-5 year-old Xeon Scalable (1st and 2nd Gen) servers to EPYC, the consolidation potential is even more immense, more like 4:1.
damn

It kills me on phone viewing here at times. Just loading now and it sent me halfway up the page.
might get a C2 this week. How worried should I be about image retention, especially with 4:3 content?
Not at all. High brighten is more likely to cause retention, so the sides being off won't be an issue.
They're very good about stopping retention these days

annoyingly, I slept on the purchase and amazon only have 3rd party sellers for the TV now. Not willing to risk it on any of them :(

I've had an Eero for a while but no longer since Verizon's fiber routers are not compatible.
Back then a good mesh network was the only way to get a consistent wifi signal where I lived so I am a big proponent of it.
From what I gather newer mesh networks like what Google just released are even better.

Got a TP-link Deco X20 mesh network for my mom place and and also my dads place. My dads house is large with solid concrete walls and it works pretty flawlessly for his connection speed of 400 down. it's very affordable at 160 USD for the 3APs
Yeah, mesh is great for when you don't have a single router that can give a strong wireless signal throughout the house.
Almost wish I had a need for better / faster wifi at home, so I'd have one more tech thing to waste money on. All I use it for are the two Alexas and Twitter & web browsing on the ol' phone. The 10yo Cisco router running DD-WRT in access point mode is still more than good enough.
Will definitely be getting a wifi6e / wifi7 router or access point sometime this year, but it'll very likely be used almost exclusively for wireless VR.

By WoodenLung Go To PostWell it really did it for me. One of my favorites of the year.? What device are you talking about?
Loved the look and camera work.
That does suck. I think some product manager at the company got excited by the shiny new thing and wanted to include it for their own excitement and not because customers care about it.
