That sounds like a pretty simple setup that probably doesn't warrant something like a level1techs KVM. Be careful of using any USB mass storage devices on it. KVM's being a bit funky in general is definitely a thing, but that one seems like its worth a shot IMO.
Mosseri promised the chronological feed would make a comeback during a Senate subcommittee hearing in December. During a Q&A last month, he also said Instagram was “already testing the favorites idea.”
Not sure I care for foldable phones, but the tech is very cool, could have some interesting future applications
if it starts working a bit better, i would love a foldable phone. never minded a phone on the thiccer side, as long as it was good.
Interesting question I heard somewhere else and wondering if anyone here has an idea?
Is there anyone smarter than me here to tell me whether or not I should be pissed that Pluton is built into the 6000 series APUs? The takes I’ve seen range from “it’s just a TPM” to “it’s a full access hardware privacy nightmare which hands all of your information to Microsoft, of all people”
I'm pretty sure Pluton is mostly like a TPM except less vulnerable to hardware attacks and can have microcode updates via Windows Update. basically like the T2 or Titan.
Should the average consumer that is already using Windows and isn't interested in piracy be pissed? Nah probably not. Those same people weren't disabling Intel's ME or SGX or trying to get around TPM requirements for Windows.
Should a hardcore linux-only, Phoronix-is-my-front-page person be angry? Yeah maybe a little bit.

Google has accused Apple of benefiting from bullying as part of a deliberate strategy to make Android users into second-class citizens on the iPhone-maker’s iMessage service.Get fucked Google. Your messaging apps been garbage for over a decade.
By reilo Go To PostGet fucked Google. Your messaging apps been garbage for over a decade.I miss Google Talk back in the day... or was it G Chat? I don't remember. They have re-invented their own messaging services so many times that I can never get them straight in my head.
Google is notorious for making multiple apps that do the same thing the worst offender being their messaging apps. Not sure it really matters outside the US as all of us just use WhatsApp
Most people here dont even know what whatsapp is, nephew.
Only reason I started using it was the football thread back in the gaf days. But fuck me, whatsapp is fucking shit too. Feels like a google app really with the terrible desktop support too.

I actually used whatsapp easy back when after the death of one of Google 's messaging services! Can't remember why my friends ended up dropping it after a year or two.
E: I think Facebook chat ended up being supported on mobile did it in for us? Maybe? Now we all just use discord and text messages

Might have mentioned it before but the only new and useful feature of android 12 has been the system Rules feature. Not even sure if it's exclusive to 12 though.
Basically you can set rules like 'when connected to work wifi, then switch to silent mode" and itll suggest stuff based on your usage.
There was something similar on iPad but was very limited in comparison.
Only issue has been when using a VPN, it'll fuck with rules related to internet.

Speaking of VPNs, I currently use mullvad but Netflix/Hulu/other websites can detect and block access.
Is NordVPN better?

ill try that one next, but pricier than mullvad though. Is buying VPN logins "legal" or is like buying a steam key from a 3rd party seller?
I use Windscribe because it was the only thing I could get to work with DAZN. Seems to be a bit shit with Netflix though, but $69 for 3 years was a solid price
Yeah I am also on expressvpn. sucks that it's more expensive, but I feel like the quality is really tied to the price here. NordVPN was decent too (although a bit slower), but it has been some time since I used it, so no idea how it holds up now.
My girlfriend upgraded from her iPhone XS to an S21 FE and I’ve never been so disappointed in her. Also intrigued, when I retire my iPhone SE in the distant future, I might try an Android again. I’ve been using iPhones since 2014 now.
Not sure where else to post this but my AirPods no longer work with Spotify? I was listening to a song the other day and it just stopped. Everything else still works though
Spotify also plays music through the iPhone and when hooked up to my car via aux so neither seem to be a problem on their own, but just refuse to work together

Any suggestions on good Thunderbolt compatible monitors for editing?
Wife’s iMac died and using the M1 MacBook for editing, but the screen is way too small.

FWIW I really like my LG 27UK850-W, however, since she is doing film editing, finding something OLED -- or rather, non matte LCD -- if she can would be her preferred option. Reason being that anything else washes out colors because of the anti-glare screens and it would be a big IQ downgrade from her Mac's screen.
Apple's website also sells the LG 5K UItraFine, which is $1300: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/HMUB2LL/A/lg-ultrafine-5k-display
Currently $1200 on Amazon for a refurbished model: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27MD5KL-B-Ultrafine-Monitor-Renewed/dp/B07XVLVD22/
So that might be a good -- cheaper lol -- alternative

Smokey will to drop thousands on yearly computer upgrades now gets tight buying his wife a monitor that will last her 5+ years.
By Smokey Go To PostThat LG you have is $620.$620!? I paid $400 something for it in 2020!!
Are those others double the price better?

Her exact words
“I don’t need to spend $600, the laptop screen is fine”
This is how we balance each other m8
She's not wrong. To get equivalent quality from a monitor over a MBP screen it would be way more than that $600.

Yeah I think the UltraFine would be gr8 and last her a very long time. Thanks mane.
I have edited a couple of thousands of photos on my LG, and while it does the job admirably, it's a step down as far as color accuracy is concerned even over my iPad Pro. And it has all to do with the anti-glare matte finish that dilutes the pixels and washes out the colors.
It's a great day-to-day monitor for programming though.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostTry different servers.Tried every US server and the shows I want to watch aren't available outside of the us unfortunately.
I only wanted it to watch stuff at work and luckily they had a free trial so I didn't waste any money on the service.
