By Laboured Go To PostI swear Sweeney read a tecno-libertarian 101 manual one day as a teenager and never progressed beyond that point. In Running Man, the Network are the good guys
AI is just the new scam. Just like NFT and crypto before it.
The only difference is NFTs are irrelevant and crypto is almost there. I get people occasionally trying to convince me to buy now before it’s too late. AI has all these investors giving away money but it’ll stick around, and have long term consequences.
It can’t actually do things like Amazon Go, or a simple McDonald’s order without fuckin it up, but it can give you deepfakes and fake voices.

I always felt paying to be the default was fine as long as it doesn't restrict easily being able to change it to others.

Is Coca Cola a monopoly because they have partnerships with a lot of big restaurants and sports franchises to be the only soda vendor? IDK.
By Laboured Go To PostI mean, pretty sure all AI models did the same

yo fuck Google lmao
Take them down, DOJ
They're making us go through a highly detailed and insane Play Store verification process that requires a DUNS number, public support phone numbers, etc. This is dumb and way beyond what even Apple asks for.
I think Google might be anti-small business. Burn them.

But it's OK because they have a $99 device for people that… just really like Google or something?
Good lord.
They're gonna rebrand YouTube into Google TV aren't they?
Is there a way to make tabs with videos switch and start playing automatically one after the other, or is the only option really to download them and put them in a playlist?

oh wait, you mean one after the other, not simultaneously. yeah, i think you would need a playlist of some sort. if they are across different services, you might have to download them, yeah.
Man, I should've disassembled and deep cleaned my ageing 2.5kW AC unit much, much sooner, lol.
It went from barely cooling to producing glacial temps. It also went back to consuming considerably more power, but it's obviously so worth it.

By Laboured Go To PostOh? lolYeah. Google is changing what API’s are available to Chrome extensions very shortly (manifest v3, iirc). They conveniently appear to target the things that all the ad blockers use to block ads.
Meanwhile Firefox will most likely go kaput as a competitor because of the recent DOJ ruling, thus somehow making a browser monopoly... more monopolistic. Brilliant.
Switching back to Firefox because I couldn't make Chrome's fullscreen mode do the one thing I needed it to, turned out to be a winning move (for the moment).
By reilo Go To Postfuck off google.
hello opera
Seeing stuff about the upcoming M4 Mac Mini being the size of an apple TV and costing less than ipad or iphone and I"m intrigued. Would be a neat replacement to the AppleTV
By Kabro Go To Postfuck off google.I'd recommend Vivaldi over Opera but everybody's got their favorite Chromium browser i guess
hello opera
You do have to appreciate Big Tech's current approach being "these users from whom we have profited massively have had it too good for too long".

By reilo Go To PostWhy would you replace your AppleTV with a Mac Mini wth lol
The UX just isn't there
That's why I said intrigued. I figured the experience would be more cumbersome due to interface changes between the two. Perhaps it's not a replacement of the Apple TV but rather an addition. I don't really have a desktop. Just my work laptop.
Would it even function when sent through a receiver?
EDIT: The M4 seems capable enough to maybe get some steam games on my TV this way. It would be nice to have a browser etc.

By Kabro Go To PostTalk to me diehard. What's good in vivaldi. So, when Opera was bought out by a Chinese company, several of the people behind the original Opera got together and created Vivaldi.
