In a surprising turn of events, having a gun around a 4 year old has resulted in the 4 year old shooting his mum.
- Jamie Gilt, 31, was driving with her son, 4, through Putnam County, Florida
- The child picked up a loaded .45 handgun from the back seat and fired
- Gilt was shot and wounded after the round passed through the truck's seat
- She told deputies that she had been shot in the back by her young son
- Just 24 hours earlier, she posted about her toddler's shooting ability
- She wrote: ''Even my 4 year old gets jacked up to target shoot with the .22'
- Gilt was reportedly on her way to pick up a horse when she was shot

The worst part is for the people who aren't nutters about this shit. The people who do keep them locked in safes, of which are the majority. But they've got this nutter running around acting as their voice.
She didn't swerve off the road after being shot in the back and harm more people, and the child didn't shoot himself, so I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. I think we should give her more toddlers and more loaded guns to keep within their grasp. Very few people are this good at parenting and responsible gun ownership.

Surely a security guard should look after his weapon better.
A two-year-old boy has accidentally shot and killed his mother in the US city of Milwaukee after finding a gun in the back of their car.
The woman, Patrice Price, had been driving a car owned by her security guard boyfriend who had left his gun in the car, her father Andre said.
Milwaukee police said she was shot once in the back while driving on a local highway on Tuesday morning.
Also in the car were Price's mother and her other son aged one.
Mr Price said she also had an older daughter, and described Patrice as "hardworking".
"Now I don't have her no more. My chest has been hurting," Mr Price told Milwaukee station WISN.
"I have a knot in my chest. They won't even let me see my daughter. I wanted to hold my daughter for one last time."
Surely a security guard should look after his weapon better.
That level of negligence should result in charges for the adult. Imagine being that kid and having to live with what you did the rest of your life.

And this place STRIVES to be a place of ACTUAL discussion. Whether we agree or not. Cause I can't tell you how many times I've fought for people who argue against me. 3SP, RBK, Gaby. I actually spend most of my mod time arguing to NOT hand out bans.
I don't want bans either and appreciate the effort to not ban. I also understand this is a hot topic, but so is politics and that thread is infinitely more civil.
For clarity, i think this woman is an idiot that helps perpetuate the idea that gun owners are all crazed loons keeping loaded weapons out. I'm for massive reforms to our laws as well. I'm just over some of the hyperbole people get away with becaus it's a gun topic. The implication that mass shootings are at my hands and that I'm a horrible person for hunting isn't uncommon.
