What food does your city do best?

Having moved to Atlanta two years ago, I never expected it to become my favorite city for food but man, it has. There is too much to list what is amazing here (Buford Highway has EVERYTHING) but if I had to pick just one thing that it does best it's BURGERS! Atlanta has tons of great burger joints like the Vortex, Moxie Burger, Farm Burger, etc., but there is one that rises to the top.
It's won tons of awards, been named best burger in America numerous times by numerous publications and man, no hyperbole. It comes from Holeman & Finch. They use to only serve 24 burgers a night and you'd have to reserve it and then wait until they were served at 10PM (no joke). The burger came about because the head chef whose a legend in Atlanta was going through cancer treatment and this burger was the one thing he didn't lose his taste for. It caught on to say the least. Eventually they removed the limit, started selling them at Braves games, and now have a dedicated location just for the burgers.
If you EVER come to Atlanta, you owe it to yourself to experience this perfection.

I grew up outside of a small city in New York. It was a manufacturing town that had all it's factories shut down. In the early to mid 1900's a bunch of Italian families settled there, so there's a pretty big Italian population that's a generation removed from people who came to America from Italy. We have several really awesome legit Italian restaurants. I moved a long time ago and I've never found anything nearly as good.

Berkeley/Oakland/Bay Area?
Thai/Laos or Taqueria. Actually I think outside of Hong Kong Bay Area might have some of the most and best dimsum

Most french meals are not from Paris. But you can get any meal you want there of course... I eat ramen soup more often than I do onion soup tbh anyway :)

Ive officially been back home for a year and a few days after being vacant from this legendary city for 15 years. The one thing that remained ever constant is the cuisine. None like it anywhere on earth. But I digress, its all about the food. Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, and Gumbo. Not to mention potato salad, greens and yams. Smothered pork chops, deviled eggs, and various other seafood dishes that would make you slap your ancestors. Truly the true taste of the south.
Yeah, I really don't know how people can willfully live in the middle of our country with fresh seafood hundreds or even thousands of miles away. Like, that way of life would never be considered.

I'm in Atlanta so pretty close to Nola. My girlfriend lived there for 7 years and to this day talks about the food. She has told me the type of lunches that you folks take lol. She worked for a law firm and said that lunch would last for almost two hours, food everywhere. That people bring in the most rich breakfast, etc. I love seafood and have done research on the best places to eat in Nola. We're going to plan a trip there this year. I definitely need to see what it's all about. I will say I cannot wait for those cheap oysters!

it varies, some people make it really salty or add too much vinegar and cut the blood's taste off
