I honestly can't imagine what Durant could've done better last year that left him short of having had a "perfect" season.
ESPN ranking is more or less just arbitrary clownery. Let's move on.
I feel bad for Nash. I know he robbed my team of millions and draft picks - but that guy deserves nothing but respect. If he would have stayed in Dallas I think they chip in 2006. That's a damn shame.

Jason Smith will draw another start at power forward for the Knicks on Friday, and head coach Derek Fisher indicated that he will remain there for opening night.I figured it was going to be Smith or STAT, Jackson likes his PFs that can shoot in the Triangle. Dalembert/Smith isn't a bad rebounding/defensive duo.
Smith appears to have beat out Quincy Acy (wrist), Andre Bargnani (hamstring), and Amare Stoudemire for the starting power forward job. Fisher would like to use Amare in a sixth man role, and with Acy and Bargnani not fully healthy, Smith will get the nod with the starting unit.
I still don't know why you guys keep referring to what Phil Jackson likes as far as who'll get PT on the floor or what the rotation will be like. I get that Fisher is essentially Phil's minion, but you gotta think that Fisher will eventually be his own coach. Trying to draw up conclusions what the offense will look like next month to a year to three years from now based on Jackson is kinda silly.

I've only watched a couple games of the Knicks Pre-season. And to my eyes Jason Smith has outplayed Amare. He's also fared much better in the triangle.
I think you're right, Fisher will become his own coach, but Jackson's historic likes aren't arbitrary. He prefers big guards for example, because he needs them to be a threat from the post and be able to effectively press on defense. He prefers willing/good passing bigs who have a 15 foot jumper, because the triangle is more effective with them.
So as long as Fisher's going to run the Triangle, it would make sense that he would look for the same qualities.
I get all that, just seems weird to constantly refer to "Jackson this, Jackson that" when it comes to coaching decisions.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Thunder guard Anthony Morrow will miss the start of the regular season because of a left MCL sprain suffered at practice Thursday, the team announced.http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11756724/oklahoma-city-thunder-guard-anthony-morrow-mcl-sprain-4-6-weeks
Morrow is set to be evaluated in a week but the typical recovery time is four to six weeks, the Thunder said Friday.
I am sure OKC docs will take great care of him and make sure his knee is fully healed before letting him play.
Poor OKC just keeps lucking out with shooting guards, it seems. If they were only able to get ahold of the good one, they might be something, especially in case of injuries.
Came here to post that.OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Thunder guard Anthony Morrow will miss the start of the regular season because of a left MCL sprain suffered at practice Thursday, the team announced.http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11756724/oklahoma-city-thunder-guard-anthony-morrow-mcl-sprain-4-6-weeks

Fucking hell. We just need to keep our heads above water until KD, Morrow and McGary get back.
YNB gonna be soooooo freeeeeeeee.
ESPN did animations for their Top 10 rankings. These are actually pretty cool:

50 games of KD is better than almost anyone's full 82.ESPN ranked KD #8 in their #NBArank.
Comical. Dude is expected to miss a few weeks with a small fracture in his foot and that drops him 6 spots? All of a sudden he isn't a top 2 player in the league?
Fucking clowns.
My understanding is NBA Rank isn't a rank of the "best players" per se, but the most productive for the entire season. Durant missing significant time makes sense for him to drop.
