"One of the keys to the season will be the play of Amar'e Stoudemire. Although his tender knees will require his playing time and his practice time to be carefully monitored, we hope he'll be able to play four rotations of eight minutes per game. That's because Stoudemire can still be a potent scorer. He can get to the middle when he's in the low post, and in screen-rolls he's a threat to either screen-and-pop or drive to the hoop. Playing adequate defense is a real challenge for him and he's also got to improve his rebounding. The preseason will also discover whether Amar'e is more effective playing the 4 or the 5 positions."
lmao
It's stupid that Buss would even say that tho... if there was no truth to the article about FA not wanting to play with Kobe, then why address that point? lol

She was responding to an interview question. She was clearly peeved.
I don't think there's "no truth" to the part of the article that says that agents have told Abbott that certain players don't want to. I think the part in contention is...literally everything else in the article.

Damn. Donze-o.
Steve Nash is expected to miss all of the 2014-15 season because of nerve damage to his back.Jesus...
Wow. This report comes from reporter Kevin Ding, who is one of the more credible guys around the team, and has been confirmed by Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times. Nash has already suffered a back injury reportedly from carrying a bag, and there was never really a chance he'd be able to make it through the year unscathed. Sadly, his career might be over, but he'll be a first-ballot Hall of Fame player without a doubt.

Is all this from Lillard bumping into him and his leg getting broken? jeez.
I hope his day to day life isn't painful or anything. Isn't nerve damage like REALLY bad?

how is that not an Onion article? it has to be.
I wonder how Suns-Age feels about this.Cant speak for everyone but we got picks and started the rebuild. I think most suns fans still love steve but in my opinion h retired the day he signed with the lakers
I will genuinely miss watching Steve Nash and it's a god damn shame circumstance prevented his Suns teams from ever winning it all. Godspeed.
Simmons jumping on the Exum hype train calling him Australian teenage Kobe is… really odd.
He's nothing like Kobe except that he's black and is about the same height.

Kobe sounds better than black Ricky Rubio with the potential to make layups in the future so I prefer Simmons' comparison. Though Ricky Rubio with making layups would be really good...
IWMTB I know Exum is your guy
But comparing Exums passing and playmaking with Rubio is about as wide of a gulf as comparing Rubio's shooting to Lillards

Is the Flat Earth Society still trying to convince people that invisible free agents are lining up to play with Kobe's corpse?
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bobby Phills' retired No. 13 jersey is heading back to Charlotte.
Phills' jersey was originally raised to the rafters at the Charlotte Coliseum on Feb. 9, 2000, following his death in a car accident a month earlier. However, when the Hornets moved to New Orleans, his retired jersey went with the team.
Now that the Hornets name has returned to Charlotte, so too will the jersey. It will be hung at the team's downtown arena Nov. 1 during a halftime ceremony.
Phills is the only player in Hornets' history to have his jersey retired.
Hornets president and COO Fred Whitfield said a release Wednesday that during the team's rebranding process, "one of the most important elements to us was to once again honor the retired jersey of Bobby Phills."
catching feels already :(
Nash went out washed up. I'd never want to be that guy.
I'd hate not working collecting millions.
His legacy will go down as a great PG who overstayed his welcome and was kicked out by his own bags.
Money or not, reputation is important.
His reputation is that he's a two-time MVP that was one of the big reasons to usher the NBA into a new age because of his play. Him hurting his back on his last two-year contract isn't gonna matter one bit.
Strange. I think it's an unfortunate circumstance, nothing more. He's got 16 other seasons to be judged by.

Like how people only remember Orlando Magic Ewing and Celtics Shaq. Also, the reputation-destroying end of Raptor legend Hakeem Olajuwon.
Really good write-up about Derrick Rose and where he's been and where he's going:

Sucks you can't go out with an applause though.
Something i'll always remember about Kings fans.. gave a great standing ovation to Stockton.

ESPN ranked KD #8 in their #NBArank.
Comical. Dude is expected to miss a few weeks with a small fracture in his foot and that drops him 6 spots? All of a sudden he isn't a top 2 player in the league?
Fucking clowns.

They wrote about it, here:
http://espn.go.com/nba/preview2014/story/_/id/11751787/nba-how-injury-alters-kevin-durant-#nbarank
Essentially, Neil Paine's "Real Plus-Minus Wins Above Replacement" argument changed his ranking. Nothing more.
Honestly, if you win MVP, don't you deserve the benefit of the doubt of being ranked the best player next season (let's put injury argument aside)? The fact that he was gonna end up #2 even before his injury is comical, considering Lebron just hit Age 30 and showed signs of slowing down last season.

lebron could probably miss half the season and they would have no problem ranking him #1.
it's just clickbait.

This.
t sucks for him that he went out in such a way, but no one will give a fuck in the future.
It's not like his injury is even that serious. They caught it early, operated immediately, and he should be back by December.
Whatever. If that's the logic they're gonna use, I expect it to be consistent in the future. If Bron has a preseason boo-boo, drop his ass out of the top 5.
Also, the fact that Neil Paine only had him rated as a 9 out of 10 as a baseline shows how much of a fucking idiot he is.

My understanding is NBA Rank isn't a rank of the "best players" per se, but the most productive for the entire season. Durant missing significant time makes sense for him to drop.
