That's all I have to say about that, really.
Wade on 13-14 season:
So basically, "I can play against fuckball squads. But not against real basketball.
Got it.
Wade on 13-14 season:
Last year wasn't fun. I mean, there was no stretch of it [that was] fun. That whole season, to me, it's amazing we made it to the Finals. It's just honest.
He averaged 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals in the six-game series against the Indiana Pacers, while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor. Those numbers were right in line with those he posted in the regular season, his most efficient as a pro, even as his shots and games were down.
Wade doesn't know where the feeling went in the NBA Finals.
"Maybe it was the Spurs and the way they played," Wade said. "I mean, they f—–g ran circles around us. We weren't in the same groove that we were in the series before, I couldn't get in a groove. And then, how our team was built, once certain guys weren't in a groove, then it went to just straight one-on-one. And I can't play that way. Once I get out of my groove, and then I've got to sit and wait, I'm not getting back in mine. So, obviously, you're affected that way. And then, defensively (for us), they were moving…man! So it was unfortunate. But like I said, the series before that, I felt that I was hitting that stride that I want to be in."
So basically, "I can play against fuckball squads. But not against real basketball.
Got it.
Are there any pre-season games available on NBA League Pass? I was going to subscribe on Monday to see my Bulls, but I'm not sure if that will even be broadcast on League Pass.
That D-Wade quote...I be like that Mr. Burns.gif when he can't stop laughing throughout the day, and including his sleep.

Maybe not the intra squad scrimages though.

How much is the cap going to go up next year?
It's not really decided.
There's a movement in the head office that is thinking about spacing the increase gradually over a few years. So someone like felton isn't making more than Durant. Though the details are sketchy, particularly, what would happen with all the extra money not spent on salaries.
The players union hasn't released a stance on that plan though.
But it seems a lot of Front Offices are planning for it so... there must be some genuine basis for it not just mere speculation.
How much is the cap going to go up next year?
Theory is it will be incremental upgrades to maybe $80million by 2018
How much is the cap going to go up next year?
If the cap was the same BRI as before, the new cap would be $88 million next year.
I have no idea how much it will actually increase by though.
Will the full slaent site be live by the beginning of the season?
This speculated deal means there will be a lockout. LeBron gonna get paid...so are dozens of scrubs in the league.

The TV deal is why Lebron took the shorter deal. You migt see new maxes starting at $17-18mil/yr for the likes of Klay Thompson.

I think it's a fair price. NBA has a history with useless big guys getting stupid contracts, and he's clearly better than those bums.5 years $60mill for FariedNot bad really.

Hello, 2017 lockout.
Staying with ESPN is going to suck. Also wish the NBA would negotiate with the cable companies to get NBATV on lower tier packages.

I'll be happy if they re-did the digital rights package so they have better control over the content they can put onto NBA LP.
Staying with ESPN is going to suck. Also wish the NBA would negotiate with the cable companies to get NBATV on lower tier packages.ESPN is the big dog, FoxSports1 and NBCSports Network aren't in enough homes to warrant competition. Turner didn't want to pay double the money to keep their other NBA games on TBS, and we are suffering for it.

I was fully expecting Disney to keep the rights. I was hoping the NBA would open up and allow a another partner to show games not on ESPN or TNT. Fox would have been the ideal partner since most of the leagues local broadcasts are on fox affiliates. Sounds like we are getting the same shitty schedule with terrible coverage and ESPN are just paying extra to prevent another partner from showing games.
Edit: looks like TNT is adding another night and 12 extra games a year after the all star break leading up to the playoffs so that is something at least.

I like the Summer League on ESPN thing if it means you won't have to pay them extra money to watch it anymore. I shouldn't have to pay to see pick up games.
The NBA isn't allowed to negotiate with other content partners until sometime next year, so TNT and ESPN are paying more than market value for the TV contract to not even give the NBA a chance to talk to other networks.
Also, 2016 will be silly season.
Lebron and Durant UFAs. Lebron will probably resign, but you never know...
Dwight has an ETO. Joakim Noah is a UFA. Al Horford is a UFA.
You'll most likely see players like Love, Aldridge, Marc Gasol and DeAndre Jordan opt for shorter contracts next summer (1-or-3-year deals with last year player option) to hit the new TV deal money.
Guys like Dion Waiters are gonna make whatever Parsons and Hayward got look like good deals.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with mid-level players getting inflated contracts, since the money is there. The problem is, of course, dumb GMs keep outbidding each other and over spend and then we get another lockout once they start losing money again.
For IWMTB..
Jazz scrimmage tonight at 6:30 , streaming on the website.
It will mostly be Burks just schooling people though.

In addition to the stuff above TNT now has exclusive rights to all MLK games. So I guess it will be an all day marathon for them on that day.
Watched the Raptors/Kings preseason game. Both Gay and Cousins looked a little tired. Collison/Sessions PG rotation looks solid. The offense has more movement, but Jason Thompson doesn't have the bball IQ for that sort of offense. I still expect him to be traded.
DWill is still a disappointment. McLemore still looks lost. Stauskas already looks like a NBA player, but featuring rookie mistakes. Carl Landry looks right again. Sessions/Stauskas/Landry is a pretty good bench. Though Stauskas may jump into the starting lineup.
Demar/Ross looked good until Ross got hurt. Jonas was doing some semi dream shakes. Looks like Psycho T will beat out Stiesma.

Four spots up for grabs in the OG fantasy league. PM emails if you want in, first come first serve.
Draft next Sunday.

Apparently Andre Roberson really impressed at the Thunder scrimmage.
Looking like a strong possibility that he'll be the starting 2 guard. Sorry Reggie.

I'm trying to remember why the Thunder got rid of Kevin Martin.I'm very willing to give them the opportunity to rectify this mistake.

The NBA can't lose money because of player contracts. The players are guaranteed 49-51% of BRI (depending on league finances). If all the player salaries add up to 55% of BRI, the teams take back the money. If the contracts are 45%, the teams pay them. That's what the escrow fund is for.
The amount all the players earn is essentially set in stone. Nothing GMs do can change this.
The overspending part relates to salary cap management. The last lockout occurred because players earned 57% of BRI.
Anyway, with a potential $91 million salary cap in 2016, the Lakers will have like $80 million in cap space. lol. 2016 has the potential to be a very wild offseason. At this point, no one can know anything.
FOX? Fox is the shittiest sports broadcaster of them all. Have you seen their local broadcasts? They're terrible. Football and Baseball are awful on there; their HD feeds are the worst. I don't know why would anyone have a problem with TNT when they're one of the best broadcasters of NBA basketball. Inside The NBA is the shit. Between ESPN/TNT/NBA TV, we get enough national televised games plus the local broadcasting of your home team. ESPN's problem is their presentation and the seemingly lack of coverage of it compared to Football but that's because The NBA season doesn't get interesting until like Christmas. Football is a weekly event. I love Huey Brown and JVG; Tirico and Breen(can be overbearing) are adequate. On The TNT side Marv Albert and Kevin Harlan are the best. Though I hate that sniveling ass Reggie Miller.Staying with ESPN is going to suck. honestly, the only problems with ESPN/ABC are Mark Jackson and the pre-game/halftime stuff. Their actual feed, camera angles, play-by-play and most crews are good.
They're not TNT but they're good. Plus, there's the ESPN Watch app which is great when you're out.
Honestly, unless you're someone like us, there's no need for NBA League Pass unless you live away from your team's market. You get a ton of national games, almost all playoff games, and your local games. What more do you need?
NBATV is even part of time-warner basic for a while now. There's too much basketball on TV these days.

Did I make a big mistake ordering league pass over ballstreams?I've been paying for League Pass Broadband for years now, and I like it. They've mostly addressed the issues; every game is in HD, you can pick your broadcasts now, archives. The DVR functionality sucks, but it's still a good product.
This all comes with the caveat that blackout rules apply (as in, if you live in your team's broadcast area, you cannot watch those games).
That's fine, Lakers games would be blacked out for me now. I could give a fuck. I should still be able to watch them on the Cox cable though. I moved from the Chicago burbs to Southern California 4 months ago.Did I make a big mistake ordering league pass over ballstreams?I've been paying for League Pass Broadband for years now, and I like it. Well, I will be watching the Lakers preseason game tonight.
I feel relatively good about them for some reason.
