I can't believe this is the same guy as the dude in November and December. Dude is actually driving, hitting shots, making simple pass plays.
Lol shut up Jon Barry. 7 finals, 5 chips. And two scoring titles in between but he wasn't the face of the league lulz.

Since then they always pushed other players as the NBA's poster boy..

Popular as ever, and the NBA never really hid him from the media. And given his success / franchise he had tons of exposure. But they really didn't make him the face of the NBA anymore.

Jordan is the only sole face of the league ever. The 80's was magic, dr j, Kareem, bird. The 70's was west, Oscar, Kareem etc. 60's had wilt and Russell and west.
the existence of other great players doesn't take away from you being a face of the league. And Kobe was definitely at the apex around the time that lebron was ascending.
By Moris Go To PostCavs are in prime position for a EC playoff upset.by who
Kobe, lebron, or Timmy have been in every finals since 99. Absurd.
Wait - 2006 - never mind. Still though

Dr. J was never really the face of the NBA like that.. 80s was Bird/Magic 90s was MJ and after that they had been trying to find that next golden goose. Kobe was primed for it, but the rape charges (which also meant cheating on his wife) then the ugly media break up with Shaq the NBA went full LBJ.. you would have thought LBJ had 4 or 5 rings.. I mean shit TD should be in the mix as well but the NBA deemed him too boring I guess

Probably not Detroit, but the road to The Finals for Bron this season is a little tougher than usual.

Detroit leads them 2-1
Toronto leads the 2-1
Charlotte can split 2-2
Their path is not easy. Toronto can take the Cavs out. Unlikely but Detroit might be able to upset.

I guess we're using different definitions. You're talking about the league and their marketing or propping up of a person, I'm talking about the "passing of the torch" idea of passing to the guy/guys who carry the league.
But oh well, it's not that important

You're talking about the league and their marketing or propping up of a person, I'm talking about the "passing of the torch" idea of passing to the guy/guys who carry the league.Pretty sure face of the league means kinda who the league itself endorses... As well as a majority of the fans.. No basketball fan would say that Kobe wasn't 1, 2, or 3 of his time. Being him TD and Shaq.. And most likely 1 or 2. But that's not really the face of the NBA tho.

That's the thing - Barry was talking about magic/bird passing the torch to Jordan etc etc. I guess the standard and goalposts were conflated a bit in the original argument.

Once Bird and Magic starting doing them McD commercials together and the NBA kept MJ's gambling under wraps he took that torch and ran with it..

Milwaukee Bucks guard O.J. Mayo suffered a fractured right ankle on Thursday morning and will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season, General Manager John Hammond announced today. Mayo accidentally tripped descending his stairs at home.
I remember way back in the day guys like Vince Cellini and Dick Versace were all over TNT and TBS and could've been like how Ernie is in Inside the NBA. Wonder why they never stuck.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostHey psy what is the cheapest way to read shippudenUhh, local library may have most of the volumes. I hear the online Shonen Jump is pretty good too. Easiest way is just reading scans depending on how you feel about that.
I don't recommend part 2/shippuden though. %90 trash

I watched the first half of the Laker game on TNT Overtime.
How much does the guy who's filming for the "Action cam" get? he started out the game by zooming and panning on people in the crowd, during the game whipped the camera all over the place, and at some points what flashing his hand in front of the camera.
I really want to know what he gets paid to sit on his ass (on a cushion) with a camera for an NBA game.

Lol towards the end of the 4th one of em was creeping hard on hot women leaving the arena. Producer cut to a new camera long after it was obvious what they were doing.
