heat are playing better and no one wants to admit that deferring to Bosh was slowing down the offense
Of course I'm only half messing around: it wasn't that Bosh was stifling the offense so much as having 2 bigs out there in Bosh and Knuckleside didn't allow the offense to really run and ruined the spacing on the floor. But yeah, there's a sad truth in that Bosh's unfortunate injury is what it took for the team to start playing much better on the offensive end.
“I felt like at the beginning of the season I was running, but nobody was next to me,” the Heat’s $85 million point guard said last week before Miami extended its season-long winning streak to five games with three victories in four days over the Suns and 76ers (twice).
“Then, when we found out [Chris Bosh] was out, we went small and we had no choice. We had to adjust ourselves. The Atlanta game [a 115-111 win Feb. 19] — that was the first game that we really ran and we played well.”
“I did talk with Spo a lot. I gave him my thoughts. He gave me his thoughts. Of course I understood. He said, ‘Look G, we’ve got CB, D-Wade. Most of the time we cannot play fast pace.’ I told him I completely understand the situation. He said, ‘We’re going to figure it out. Just be open, be there for the team.’ I said, ‘Look, you don’t have to worry about me.’ Of course, probably some fans, they’re going to talk bad. But it’s part of the game. I’m looking at the big picture, not those small pictures like in the past. It’s all about winning.”

Said Dragic: “It’s tough to say that [the loss of Bosh was a blessing in disguise]. I don’t see it that way. I feel like if CB was here we’d still figure out those things for sure. CB is such a great team player. Basically, he was our voice on the floor and he was our guy who gave us our second-chance situations a lot. If you run, CB would trail most of the time and be wide open on those threes. He would fit in this system.”
Even Wade (averaging 22.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5 assists since the break) said playing at this pace feels natural. “Not only are we’re scoring more than 100 points, but it doesn’t even feel like it,” he said. “We’re just playing basketball.”

We're taking that 5 seed from ATL. It's going to be CHA/Miami just like in 2014.
in some alternate dimension tony allen didn't hurt his knee and is still putting up 20ppg at 34

Is there a way to look up how many hardship exceptions a team has gotten in a single season? The Pels are up to two:
Scott Kushner @ScottDKushner
SOURCES: #Pelicans have received another injury hardship exception and will be able to add a player to the roster.

Cavaliers on pace for 58 wins (+5 from last season)
Thunder on pace for 55 wins (+10 from last season)
FiveThirtyEight gives the Spurs almost the same chance (34%) as the Warriors (36%) to win the title.

Tony Allen was 3 points away from being the leading scorer in a game? Every other player in that game should be suspended for 10 games.
The biggest thing I take away from that game was not only that Cavs transition/paint D was atrocious... Tony Allen played an extremely smart game. He didn't settle for deep perimeter shots, electing to get as close as possible since the defense (JR Smith) was giving him space. He made every attempt to score in transition, and he drove it anytime he had a mismatch big (Love) or small (Dellavadova). By the time he hit that 3 he was on fire, that's knowing yourself and what you excel at. Much different from the Tony Allen in the playoffs last year vs. Golden State.
If Cleveland gets wrecked in the playoffs (which is likely to happen because there's like zero chance the beat either the Spurs or Warriors), does Lebron stay?
I can't imagine how hostile and passive aggressive that locker room will be next season if they dont chip. It's going to likely be Houston levels of clownery if this team stays as it is.

By PSYCH! Go To PostLeBron has no choice but to stay. He can't leave twice…..he can'the might stay but that team is getting blown up as part of that happening because lebron doesn't seem to have gelled well with either Love or Kyrie. And who would come to Cleveland to play with Lebron after all his petty antics this season?
also, it's Cleveland. Lebron was hoping his now being a champ would draw folks to come play with him but that's not enough to overcome living in Cleveland for most players.
I wouldn't completely eliminate him leaving. He has like zero chances of getting a ring there as it stands, even if the team he current has was perfectly healthy. His best shot was last year when the Warriors were more raw than they are now and injuries took that chance from him.
i think they are gonna get merkt by some east squad before ever making the finals this year
then the heat will really be on
then the heat will really be on
Today, I found out the Wolves have the 11th ranked offense and the only good explanation I have is that it's all free throws since they don't shoot 3s.
Lebron must be of the mindset that he can do it his way. I think one of the many reasons he initially left Cleveland was because he was convinced by the Heat leadership that he just couldn't do it alone or do it his way. It was the right move. However, he seemingly left Miami because he is now under the impression that he can win a championship for his hometown doing it his way. Surrounding himself by the coaches he wants, the players he wants, the agents he wants, the playing style he wants, etc.
And it's quite clear that despite how good he is (although he's slowing down given how many insane minutes he's played), his way just doesn't seem to be working.

If that's the case then it must really REALLY suck that the other option is to lean on Cavs' management for help because we've all seen how competent they've been over the years.
I mean i get it, he had to see if he could do it his own way, get his own ring for his town. But, yeah, the window for that is rapidly closing given his recent stats and the rise of the young and talented warriors.
Butler hurts knee after playing 48 minutes
Butler comes back from knee injury and plays 34 minutes until fouling out, knee swells and is out again.

Gotta be a real leader.
Like Kyle Lowry. The shit Lowry has done to bring his team to the next level deserves nothing but praise.
How many times is Bradley Beal gonna be injured. Wizards team why you supposed to be good. Kelly Oubre supposed to be your savior.
Part of being a real leader is learning how to defer and create a presence that is cohesive to winning regardless of how frustrated you may get. Dwayne Casey isn't amazing coach, sure Raptors fans want someone better than Casey. But they doing well.
KD YNB and OKC too.
Also I don't think Mike Conley stays in Memphis. He's been so inconsistent this season and has been good a ton of times. Especially with the future of the franchise with Marc and no young assets I don't see Memphis as a place that is attractive to stay other than they will pay Conley the most.
