Also about how the switches work:

The key press will be registered around half way down. You can clearly see it in the gif with the brown switch. It's when you go past the little bump. You won't actually need to press any harder than that, but you'll probably end up doing so anyway unless you're careful. The key will thus hit the bottom and that's where you get the loud clicking and clacking from. If you don't want that because it's loud or it's tiring because you keep pressing the keys too hard, you could buy a bag of o-rings. Simple rubber rings you stick on your keys that will shorten the travel time and dampen the noise.

Brands don't really matter that much since they're mostly using the same cherry switches anyway. However, Logitech and Razer have started making their own switches which I know nothing about. Just pick the with the flashy colours you fancy or get a boring Das.
