Detective Comics is my favorite book right now.

First I meant Hulk with claws and second how the hell did I miss that?
By Apollo Go To PostClayface is having the best character arc in Detective ComicsI’m just worried they’re eventually going to revert to status quo for him.

Yeah, legit Sand-Man him. Villains have shit track record of character progression in comics.

I don't think he will be going back until years from now
I also want DC to somehow retcon what DC comics stands for. "Detective Comics" Comics has bugged me for far too long.

I wonder if anyone has told marvel to stop being extra and just write good comics?
Marvel is in a weird era of making clones off popular characters hoping that makes them same amount of money. Legit clone saga for everybody. (And I like some of the newer legacy characters...when they have writing talent behind them and not just "Thing + thing")
Finished Aaron’s Doc Strange run. Good read. Bachalo was a solid choice for that run. Is Zelda still around in the series?

Closest to it is I think the upcoming annual, which is a Clayface flashback. Otherwise, I think we are good. He's far more interesting as a hero.

Oh god. I'm on floor and now dead. This summed up weeks of emotions for me.
By Apollo Go To PostI need to catch up on Thor. I hear it got better the last ten or so issues.700 was the best issue it has had for a while.

I haven't read any of Mighty Thor. Was thinking of starting when Ultimate Thor and Odinson show up
By Apollo Go To PostI haven't read any of Mighty Thor. Was thinking of starting when Ultimate Thor and Odinson show upI recommend starting with Thor God of Thunder. Basically where Aaron started. The first arc alone is highly worth it and is still important.
I was never a big Thor fan until reading this run btw.
By Messi Go To PostNo. This isn't a joke. And he is getting his own bookI wonder how many comic fans drew this concept as kids? I think I drew The Thing with Wolverine claws for some Wizard Magazine Amalgam art contest, lol.

I’ve read all of that part. I didn’t like the first part of Jane’s tenure as Thor. Dropped the book.
By Vermillion Go To PostAnyone know what happened to Unworthy Thor? That book was good, and then… nothing?Sadly it was just a mini-run.
By Vermillion Go To PostAnyone know what happened to Unworthy Thor? That book was good, and then… nothing?
I think that plot thread is picked up in Mighty Thor 20 and is continuing through 700+. I’m not sure but I think that’s what I read.

Any new artist out there that draws similar to Joshua Middleton? He is one of my favorite comic-book artist.
By vastag Go To PostAnyone reading Black Hammer? I have read good things about it and I'm thinking about getting it.
It's great, would highly recommend. Dark Horse like to take their time before putting their trades out so I've only read the first arc, but it was cool. I know some folks found the family drama aspect a little boring but I found the set up and exploration of familiar tropes and character templates through a modern lens pretty compelling.

I never read Jane Thor because back in 2012 I started putting Aaron's and Ribic's Thor: God of Thunder in the end of my reading pile and never got to them. I finally started reading the last two months and boy I missed some insane amazing stories. God Butcher and The God Bomb is one of the best Thor stories ever imho. Hopefully Marvel Studios will eventually go there since it's glorious. Reading Last days of Midgard and when that ends, starting with Jane Thor and working my way until Thor #700.
God I miss Dale Keown. And to imagine that one day you could argue that Gary Frank was heavily inspired by his art, haha. His run with PAD on TIH is easily my favorite Hulk run.

Picked up Old Man Logan from the library yesterday.
What X-Men books are y'all reading these days?
I'm a huge X-Men fan but fizzed out years ago. Unfortunately a lot has built up over that time and I don't know what to read and what to avoid 😞
Also, where does everyone buy comics from? I would prefer buying trades and whole collections/ omnibus since buying one by one is not ideal for me. Any help or tips would be super cool :)

By vastag Go To PostAnyone reading Black Hammer? I have read good things about it and I'm thinking about getting it.I read Black Hammer. I started off pulling it, but since my focus has shifted more to completed stuff, I've been trade-waiting anything past the second arc. It's very good. The spin-off, Sherlock Frankenstein, is also very good; only one issue out for that one. I recommend checking it out if it has your interest.

I'm pretty much just reading Old Man Logan, the color coded ones just aren't doing it for me atm. Urgently need Cyke and OG Logan back.
