Metal has been so much damn fun. King' s run is solid, but yeah the build up for Jokes and Riddles was weak.
Metal is going to end up being the best event ever if it keeps up. Doomsday Clock is going to kill shit too.

Editors and writers started thinking they were more important than the characters. Look at Slott. Dude's ego is huge and he's on a comic that would be in the top 15 no matter who is on it.

Watchmen is one of those stories that will be a classic no matter what. It survived Before Watchmen, it'll survive Doomsday Clock. And honestly I think DC has enough creativity and talent to end up being great anyway.

Yes, I agree that no matter how Doomsday Clock turns out (and so far it looks like it will be good) it's not going to taint Watchmen. A 30 year gap helps prevent that, in my view. Kind of like how Dark Knight Returns is still well regarded even though most don't like the follow up.
