How did I miss that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wrote a comic about Mycroft Holmes?

I think he's written a novel and published some other stuff.
By Rhaegar Jergaryen Go To PostBruh you need to drop the trash and read a great comic
Oh, believe me, I was right on that. Morrison's Mister Miracle from Seven Soldiers was amazing, and this feels like a continuation of that take.

Have you read King and Mitch's last comic Sheriff of Babylon? I read all 12 issues over the last two days. It's great.
Trying to catch up on the hilarious amount of comics I've borrowed from the library. And btw I am still in shock at how many comics my local library system has. Anyway read through 2 Johns Flash omnibuses and Court of Owls. Wally West is still best flash and Court of Owls were awesome villains. Also read through Preacher book 3 and 4 Never though I'd hate Cassidy but good god he had a massive heel turn.. Also read through Squirrel Girl Beats Up the Marvel Universe and the first Unbeatable Squirrel Girl trade. I learned Squirrel Girl is amazing and the comics are hilarious. Also never fuck with Squirrel Girl. I got the next 4 trades up next and Batman Black Mirror. Then I'll start Saga Vol 7 and Locke and Key 1-6.

Secret Empire is fucking horrible. Ike needs to fire everyone. The editors have no idea what they are doing anymore

The thing where Sharon defeats his whole air force because the universe's greatest tactical mind never changes his passwords and she presses the "make the whole armada fall out of the sky" switch was fucking ridiculous. As was the conceit where the evil nazi army lock up Spider-Man without taking off his mask or taking away his web shooters. Like, any regular small town cops would do that. And Black Panther spends all of Ultimates standing up to Galactus & shit. Could he have jobbed any harder here?
And they're really going to muck up Captain America's continuity by making him be a cosmic cube created clone?
Like, sometimes I wonder if I'm just getting too cynical for this stuff, but come on.

Nah it's bad comics.
Here's how I would have fixed this shit:
If they were going to go down the duplicate/clone route what they should have done is have 616 Old Man Steve and Tony (Since they disappeared before SW) wake up on Reed's space ship. Reed and Molecule Man made a huge mistake and placed the wrong Cap on the new Earth. The last three issue could have been so much better with a broken old man Steve Rodgers, completely reborn Tony Stark, and seriously regretful Reed Richard returning to earth. Then we get the real Cap (what America should stand for) vs Nazi Cap (the dark side of America). At the last moment Falcon jumps in front of Old Man Cap and saves him from being killed. Old Man Cap and Tony team up together and end up winning. Reed uses the cosmic cube to fix everything.
There's your soft reset for LEGACY. There I fixed Marvel's entire bullshit from the end of the first Civil War until now. Of course they would never do this because Marvel editors think they are printing gold and it is the readers that are wrong.
Secret war is the only good crossover and that shit had like 5 years old comics building up to it
^^ I would have gone with something like "Kobik's changes couldn't eliminate the good part of you, she had to splinter it off into cube-world and left you without a conscience" or something. Then he gets reunited with the better part of himself and has to do a lengthy redemption arc to earn back trust, which justifies Sam Wilson staying as Cap.
New Daredevil was cool, especially the arguments in the supreme court case, but boo at him going back to the classic costume. I liked the one with the combat boots & boxer tape a lot.

You're not going to understand (maybe I should say appreciate) the ending if you haven't read the two series before it
Neonomicon might be weird and rapey, but Providence is aces so far. Close to finishing Chapter 7 and I'm really enjoying it.

Did you see my post up above?
You might want to stop and read The Courtyard and Neonomicon before you read issues 9-12 of Providence. There are some characters and other stuff from those two series that pop back up. It really is the end of his trilogy
Good to know. The third Providence trade (which starts at chapter 9) isn't out yet, so I'll put those on my list before I dive in. Thanks.
They're not as dense as Providence either. I think I read them over two days. Providence had me taking breaks in between issues.
Um... yeah. Those journal entries are dense. So is the comic, lots to take in and he doesn't spoonfeed you anything.
There's none of that stuff in the other ones. From my understanding Providence was always his end game but he wanted people to have a better understanding of the world because they might not be familiar with Lovecraft.
I've read most of Lovecraft's major works but I want the full experience. I just ordered the hardback that includes both The Courtyard and Neonomicon, I'll finish those before I move on to book 3 of Providence.
I'm also interested in reading other works that Jacen Burrows has illustrated. His art is excellent.

Burrows has worked with some heavy hitters like Warren Ellis and Garth Ennis. I have read much of it but his art always looks pretty
*shakes head hard as shit after Secret Empire*
Only good thing about secret empire was getting the homie Miles out of that fuckery that came out during Civil War 2.
What are the Marvel alternate takes we want as a result of these events?
I want one in which Miles actually kills Captain America and the ramifications of those actions.
Venomverse is one of the worst fuster clucks I've ever read. Marvel writes mega events at the same pace wrassling does PPV events. Is it so fucking hard to not have a mega event for two years?
Only good thing about Marvel is Kamala, Miles, and Champion.
DC is on to something with this Metal event. Ever wonder what would happen if Batman went too far? This is the series for you.
Batman Red Death
This whole idea that Batman loses all of his sidekicks, turns crazy, kills Flash, and steals his speed force is innovative as fuck. Batman using the speed force is something no one saw coming. I'm expecting Nightwing to be one of the next Metal Batmen and Damian as well.Go "read" this comic if you can because it's fiyah b.
Nightwing the New Order
This might be series of the year for real. There's so many conspiracies at play in the first issue. This is a world with very few remaining superheroes. Imagine if SHIELD subjugated everyone with superpowers or as many as they could. Keep in mind threats keep happening but now the superheroes are gone. The cliffhanger at the end sets the stage for the rest of this greatness.
Props to DC for finally making Supes somewhat likable for change. Only problem is there's no krypto.

Bruh I think this comic is going places. The cover for a future issue is bangarang
The Fade Out is one of the best comics I have ever read. Can't get into it without spoiling it but a screenwriter in post-war Hollywood wakes up in a bath tube and finds a dead body in a home.

The Fix
Sheriff of Babylon(kinda up that alley)
Control
Black Beetle
100 Bullets(of course)
Kill or Be Killed
Criminal Vol 1 and 2
The new 007 comics have been good as well.
Anything Brubaker and Phillips is a go to.
There's more I'm missing but those I own and have read fully
By Apollo Go To Postlol you are now ready for the ending of ProvidenceHaha. Easily the worst thing I've ever read by Moore. It feels like he just wanted to tell the story of Providence anyways, not sure what purpose Neonomicon serves really. Gonna dive into the last 4 issues of Providence now.
