By Einchy Go To PostAny read this?
Big fan of Jason Aaron but I hadn't heard anything about this until a few days ago. Looks pretty interesting and I'm fiending for some fantasy to scratch that Game of Thrones itch.
Wasn't a fan really, And I've read everything else Aaron has done. A little too self indulgent and gratuitous. I didn't really feel like it had enough to offer for how crude it is etc. Also similar to SB, he's not exactly on a schedule with it. Seeing Guera's art on nice paper though was great.
By Rave Go To PostBPRD, Deadly Class, and maybe Mother Panic. Cut out pretty much everything I wasn't up to date on.
Hey lurkers đź‘‹
Lol finally, another issue of BPRD. "Into The SIlent Sea" is going to end up the code name for what happens to you once you've been a writer on these books for too long lmao
By BKatastrophe Go To PostGod CBR is cancer to navigate.
That said THE WILD HUNT?! SHIIIIIEEEEEET
This event was already Morrison as hell.
I'm really pumped about the rest of Metal. Every issue and tie-in has pretty good
By IrishNinja Go To Postagreed - heads up though, there's 2 other books he'd written before in that universe!Really? I'll tackle those later. It's a bit late to worry about that now :)
By Apollo Go To PostAnd they kind of end up being important.Darn. I just found Neonomicon and The Courtyard on Comixology. I didn't realise they even existed. Are they that integral to the story that I should stop reading Providence and read these first?
Issue 11 is a GOAT Alan Moore issue too. One of his best
Hey everyone! I'm a refugee from the GAF dumpster fire. I never really engaged much there, mostly just lurked, but thought I'd pop by and say hello. Fresh starts and all that. Cheers!
By Apollo Go To PostReread what I said…
D'oh. I was passing out when posting that. I read pretty pictures not words. My bad.

🤔
The only issue they’re important to is issue 12. You could read just Providence. However, the other stories add some depth to the final issues.
BUT
They’re not that good. It’s almost like Providence is the story he wanted to tell and everything else was shit he made to get out of the way. Neonomicon is really bad...
and very rapey
I do enjoy how a lot of artists portray Dick Grayson’s acrobatics. The whole afterimages look. It’s a detail that, so far everything I’ve read with him as a focus has done.

Just read The Drowned. My least favorite of the Dark Knight one-shots so far. Felt the least thought out and like Abnett tripping over himself the entire time. “And then this. And then this. And then this.”
Also your male Selina is Sylvester? Frreal? I can’t deal with Batwoman falling in love with Sylvester the Cat.
EDIT: Also I just realized that we need a Secret Avengers book with Quake, Silk, and Nadia on the team. Or continue Secret Warriors and don’t cancel it. Ya bastards.

By Apollo Go To PostYeah that’s ugly. No boob window eitherThe thing is, I don’t think it’s a bad costume for a different character, but it makes PG look generic as hell. And thanks to Land, Every blonde girl looks exactly the same.

By BKatastrophe Go To PostYo New 52 Batgirl, Gail Simone’s run, is dope. Super dark, though.
I never finished but it starts dark. Did she double down later?
By Apollo Go To PostI never finished but it starts dark. Did she double down later?I’m on the fourth volume, and gets super dark. Not sure if it’s more dark, but it doesn’t get any less.
Everyone pick these up

The current incarnation of Ventriloquist is awful. She was the worst character in the previous Secret Six title.
By RedHoodedOwl Go To PostThe current incarnation of Ventriloquist is awful. She was the worst character in the previous Secret Six title.Yeah she got shafted hard. I had read that series first and thought she was just kinda gross and lame. Reading this run sours me on that version even more. She’s absolutely terrifying in Batgirl. Straight up horror villain.

I didn't care for The Drowned and Dawnbreaker.
I dug Dawnbreaker. Not as much as Red Death and Murder Machine, but I dug it. The Drowned just felt like a jumble of ideas without cohesion.

By BKatastrophe Go To PostTim using Brother Eye makes literally the most sense.
Brother Eye? So, Tim Drake is going to start the events of Future's End.
By RedHoodedOwl Go To PostBrother Eye? So, Tim Drake is going to start the events of Future's End.I makes sense that Tim would use Brother Eye. A satellite AI used to develop countermeasures and monitor all metahumans? Plus, this is post-Flashpoint, yet somehow still pre-Brother Eye. FutureTim did mention it wasn’t his timeline when they got back. Also FutureTim has been using his version of Brother Eye this whole time. Remember the times he says “Brother” in the previous issue? That’s what’s up.
No idea if FE will even get referenced. I think the only book that has referenced it since is Batman Beyond.

Tim is smarter than Bruce and he’s just a teen. Imagine what 20 years of experience and studying would add to that intellect

You can really tell he loves Tim and all of the younger Batfam
So Batgirl had a cool arc involving Silver, a dude who sees vampires where there are none. Specifically the Bat family. Good idea for a villain, except then it turns out the little girl he kidnapped was a vampire, because I forgot that some of the Bat books had a mini-crossover with I, Vampire that also included Justice League Dark. Kinda ruins the arc a little.
Also I’m pretty sure Bruce has said Tim is a better detective. Or close to.
By RedHoodedOwl Go To PostTim is smarter than the guy who was labeled the third smartest man in the DCU?Well, to be fair, Bats ripped off Mr. Terrific for all of his tech.

Caught up on all the Thor. Holy hell this is getting intense (as if it wasn’t already).
By RedHoodedOwl Go To PostNah. Slade didn’t come until much later, I thought.
Deathstroke on a seahorse? Is this suppose to be a Superfriends joke?
Batman The White Knight
I never thought I would see Harley Quinn from TAS beating the shit out of her doppelganger from Suicide Squad.

Someone let me know when I Hate Fairyland gets bad so I can stop buying the trades. As far as I’m concerned it’s one of the best ongoings right now. One of my favorite books.
