By Apollo Go To PostI’ve talked to someone in publishing about this same idea…
It makes the most sense for small publishers, and be a good way to get veterans and new talent. And trade paperback is still an avenue, plus crossover events and whatever. The same revenue avenues as the big two without as much of the risk, basically.
What did the person in publishing say?

Thanks for going through the hassle for me, I find this to be of upmost interest.

Is DC some Marvel Imprint?
Is Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and Unbelievable Gwenpool approachable for someone new to reading comics? They seem like something I would like, but I don't know if I need to be more familiar with the medium and the Marvel universe to fully enjoy them.

As someone who has only really seen the movies and cartoons and doesn’t read any other Marvel series besides these two, I’ve never had any trouble following them. Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is more approachable then Gwenpool but I think that you should be fine reading either as long as you have some general knowledge of Marvel.
So I'm thinking about jumping back on the Ms. Marvel books after dropping them during the Civil War tie-ins. But my question is do you think the book is woth getting back into? I really love the character, her setting and cast, but I'm so tired of event tie-ins. Or should I say I'm just tired of Marvel's events period.

But this next one will change everything you thought was true forever!
I finished the main Ms. Marvel everyone told me to buy and now I'm on Frank Miller's Daredevil. Ms. Marvel was pretty good. Still got a lot of comics to get through from that Amazon sale. I'll be set for quite a while at my current pace.
By Mumei Go To PostI don't know if any of you buy omnibus editions, but the Thor Simonson Omnibus is finally back in print (after making me wait for about four years!)Gotta check this out someday, the amount of people who say this is their favorite Thor run is staggering.
Master Race is $20 on Amazon. Dark Knight Returns was my first Batman comic and I feel like it's my duty to read the final chapter but, does it really fall apart near the end?
By pulga Go To Postfell apart for me after issue 2 tbhBut it was mainly written by Azzarello. I thought it was gaining positive reactions early on.
someone should tell frank its time to retire bitch
Yeah, I dunno, DKRIII is real bad from the start. I hope it was mostly Miller writing it 'cus I'd be disappointed in Azzarello.
Talking about 2000AD, check Absalom TPBs (Ghosts of London and Under a false flag). I love both the story and the art:

Any read this?
Big fan of Jason Aaron but I hadn't heard anything about this until a few days ago. Looks pretty interesting and I'm fiending for some fantasy to scratch that Game of Thrones itch.

I'll go ahead and pickup vol. 1 of both.

I liked it all the way through. It ended stronger than it started imo. I mean, it's really dumb. But it's fun and Kubert's work is gorgeous. It would be the perfect comic to read on a DC Unlimited service. A solid direct-to-dvd sequel if you know what you're in for.

I've been reading Ultimate Fantastic Four for (heh) a couple weeks now. Really enjoying this, never read it back in the day. Dr. Doom looks totally horrible though not gonna lie

The ulimate universe is pure "one step toward one step back" with it's ideas and retooling.

Yeah, I was in the prime target age when it came out so I Really enjoyed it. But never read these, re-reading Xmen Spiderman and this now though. Sometimes very questionable decisions but I still love it overall.
I love a lot of the stuff Ulimate ended up doing. Richards for example, his progression as character I was all for.

It reminds me the most of the MCU which makes sense as I think the movies are mostly based on it. The humor especially.
By blackace Go To Postit's super tough to follow comics in JapanTrue, but comixology (now Amazon) works pretty well overall. Their sales are good. I have a USA Amazon Prime account, so it also features many free titles as part of Prime Reading — not Prime Unlimited or whatever their added fee reading service is; this is the one that comes with basic Prime.
So been reaping the benefits of Marvel Unlimited. Read pretty much everything I can imagine at this point but from newer stuff I'm surprised at how decent U.S.Avengers is. Quite like the art!
Pull list comes in tomorrow through the mail too. Time to catch up on Saga and the endless Spider-themed books I pull...

I've been diving into Alan Moore's take on Lovecraft in Providence recently... I'm up to number 9 (of 12). It's fantastic.... disturbing, but fantastic :)

These days my broke ass can only afford a few books a month, so I'm sticking to Batman. Gonna see how The Merciless one shot is.

It's legit great but the last issue is a little WTF if you haven't read the first two series in the trilogy

agreed - heads up though, there's 2 other books he'd written before in that universe!

Issue 11 is a GOAT Alan Moore issue too. One of his best
A few days ago a friend of mine mentioned that they heard Morrison was working on a Metal tie-in. I didn't believe them at all then I see this:
