By Dipro Go To Postso Melo is just cool hanging out in NY, getting paid and never play a playoff game again right?Wasn't it obvious when he re-signed? Seems like he's always been about playing in a big market, making a lot of money and winning is kinda secondary. At least he has that one playoff run in 2009.
The Dream Shake @DreamShakeSBNDude needs to drop the mic on live television.
McHale will join Shaq & Chuck on TNT tomorrow. Is the phrase "I told you so" in our future?
Rusty Simmons @Rusty_SFChronwelp...
Festus Ezeli is having surgery on his left knee, according to the Warriors. Updates later.

GOAT TIMING

NY is gonna pay Fish more than they'll pay Kristaps for the next few seasons lol.
That guaranteed contract.
That guaranteed contract.
By 33MillionDollarMen Go To PostAll these coaches bearing the brunt when a lot of this shit is the fault of the GM.Well, in this case, the logical thing would be to fire both. It's not like Fisher was working in autonomy.
Jackson still has like 35M in guaranteed money to go, while Fisher was at half that...
It's Dolan's money so whatevz, but it's all such a fucking mess.
I'm still laughing at Phil answering "is Melo on the trading block?" with "I want to remind you that he has a No-Trade Clause".
By reilo Go To PostI'm still laughing at Phil answering "is Melo on the trading block?" with "I want to remind you that he has a No-Trade Clause".Can't he just say "he's our cornerstone" so he can at least save face with his decisions? It's like the dude is casually playing football manager during his retirement, only with real money.

Jackson get a stay of execution because of KP. In a lot of ways Fisher took more after Scotty Brooks than he did Jackson as a coach. The fact that Phil hinted he listened more to the staff from OKC that the old triangle guys confirms that.
Which on another note I hope they don't fire those guys. The way that players who were cast offs have improved from seasons before is the only thing Fisher actually did well and I am pretty sure it is due to the former OKC guys.

Phil could come back to coach. He could have be re-energized by seeing what his disciples are doing in GS. Wouldn't be surprised if the off season determines what happens here. If the Knicks sign a big name player in the off season I can see Phil coaching the team.
Phil can't even be assed to not skype into the office, why would he want to be on the road for half a year?
Maybe if he had a Stan Van Gundy/Pat Riley situation where he can swoop down from above and rob a man from getting an easy ring he would do it. But the Knicks haven't been that close to a championship in nearly 2 decades

All those guys just got decent at shooting the 3 and it gave them some value on a roster with no depth. Not to mention they basically took the same minutes since they all came after each other.
Lance, Gallo, D-Will actually developed to the point they could get minutes on better teamsand they have all developed at the same time

Nah man he's done and he hasn't been a horrible GM. The next question is can he salvage this season to the point the team can attract some better players and a better coach.
there aren't really any great free agents out there
best case scenario for the knicks is a mike conley, melo, porzingis core I guess...

I like when the tone shifts ever so slightly in 18 months time. From savior to "not horrible".
Phil been a shit GM and everyone else keeps paying the price lmao. You gotta love how FOs reap no consequences for their decisions, it's the players or the coaches, not their own recruitment or inability to put pieces together.

By RATHasReturned Go To PostHe's a BAD coach.I've tried to tell em. They're going from a flawed coach to a guy that does absolutely nothing right. But, hey, good for Rambis for having friends in high places and getting a third crack at this thing. Can't knock the hustle.
By KingGondo Go To PostBad ownership is the common thread. Really hard to overcome that. This is also true, the FO can really only be held accountable by the owner at the end of the day.
By KingGondo Go To PostBad ownership is the common thread. Really hard to overcome that.
We need mandatory exit interviews at the end of a season between ownership and some kind of independent evaluation service. Doesn't mean that anything will be done, but having an outside party basically saying "your general manager sucks" in a roundabout way might do...something to help the fanbases who deal with awful ownership.
idk
Look at the Rockets, McHale wasn't the greatest coach but he got scapegoated so hard when it's Morey that's terrible.
ya'll dont want 'Antoni nor Rambis.

he doesn't have the stamina and vigor to coach anymore. imo.
Mike D'Antoni again? I guess he didn't fail spectacularly enough the first go around
Because hiring failures as a retread because some ideological hack fans want him again sure sounds like sensible management

By reilo Go To PostHow'd you like SF?
It's like the 5th time I've been out there. Almost moved to North Bay last year for work, and I have a few old roommates and classmates who live in town and let me crash. Strangely ended up eating Southern food like 3 or 4X while on this trip. Had a few free meals at Google X and some good Thai in San Jose.
Super Bowl village made traffic downtown kind of shit all week. Met a few girls on tinder out there, actually met up with one on my last night in the city. Spent the last 3 days of the trip in Napa for a wedding.
Great trip, can't wait to go back. This fucking Boston snow is getting old.

I think Fish wasn't a good coach but firing him smells of Dolan
