Melo is washed.
By Gabyskra Go To PostLooks like New York could very well be 12th in the East very soon.officially 12th after that Vucevic game winner
I'm actually exited for the Dunk contest this time around. Barton used to do some crazy shit on the Blazers .

Truer words. Miss 7 games for basic wear and tear, shoot like ass most of the rest of the time.
inspite of that game winner im still raging at the idiocy of vucevic in the last 3 minutes. dumbass loser got lucky.
I think re-signing Melo was a must from a PR perspective. That's the sole reason that Phil was hired, to prevent him from walking and having the fans burn MSG to the ground asking for Dolan's head.
As a Knicks fan you have to hope that Melo improves and this is just that thing that sometimes happens where players take a full year after knee surgery to come back to form.

They only gave up 46 in 1st so he's right.
Said it before, Knicks were in a tough spot of damned if they do and damned if they don't with Melo, they were gonna be mediocre no matter what. I didn't and still don't like he length of that Melo deal. As he gets older he'll be a harder sell to FAs.
They're better this year anyone could have expected or hoped tho..

No. Coming into the 2014-2015 season, no one would have said that they would go from 9th in the Conference to 12th in 2016.
Spo sucks
No spacing
Nobody can make a shot
No defense when the 19 yr old is off the floor
team isn't any fun to watch either. ugh just get to 30 wins and call it a season.

Philadelphia is 30th in the league in scoring.
We are 29th.

By 33MillionDollarMen Go To PostDon't you have a blackhole of offense that plays on your team.Whiteside's been in and out due to injury. Our offensive numbers are actually better with him on the floor.
The real problem is the complete lack of spacing. The ONLY person on our team shooting above 35% from three is Bosh(who's percentage is slowly but surely declining). Spo has no clue on what to do offensively. He's only ever been a defensive minded coach. There's a ton of other issues but I'll leave those alone.
Our offense is the definition of anemic.
Since the start of the year, Miami's dead last in PPG.
By 33MillionDollarMen Go To PostSo basically the coaching and plays are crap.Only apart of the problem. There's only so much the coach can do if 3 players aren't even being guarded past 16 feet. There's more to it than that. It's even more deficult to exploit a defense when the defense only has to respect 2 players at any given time.

I think that's because not many had them ever getting to 9th in the first place.
The Heat are still 4th in the East. I think the system or setup doesn't get the most out of Dragic. Goran works best when he's the engine. He can play off ball some, but he is better when he can create chaos. Not sure that's a coaching issue as much as a bad personnel move.
By Moris Go To PostI think that's because not many had them ever getting to 9th in the first place.I think you got the timeline mixed up. They were 9th in 2013-14. Change of FO, change of personel, excessive hopes nurtured by many due to the name recognition of Jackson in spite of questionable moves. Then the absolute castrophe that was last year. And now 12th in the conf, without a first rounder and a good chance they'll have less than one max contract in cap space.
My point is, these 2 years were wasted. And they don't need small changes today, they need another big overhaul.

9th relying on JR Smith and Shump and Chandler most likely leaving.
Also, It's Phil's fault that Melo destroyed his knee and is much worse as a scorer than he was in 2014. Darn Phil, the lone GM that's caused gradual declines as players age.
What's amazing is that you think that lone 54 season in 15 years was sustainable despite it being painfully obvious that it wasn't.

The Heat are still trash. They're paying Dragic all that money to walk the ball up and hand it off to Wade.

It's even more deficult to exploit a defense when the defense only has to respect 2 players at any given time.I think you're so far off point on the Spo sucks thing. Spo's a decent enough coach.
The problem is the personnel fit. Dwyane is putting up 16 shots a game. And Goran taking 10 and a half. And you have Goran shooting better (though badly) than Wade.
It seems to me that the problem is trying to incorporate a volume scorer like Dwyane who wants to iso/post shoot mid range with Goran who was always best creating with the ball, but for others as much as him self.
Their games conflict unless Dwyane is happy to go off ball again and work as a cutter/slasher with the occasional post up. But that means that you have to have Whiteside as the screener, and not bosh, otherwise Whitesides guy is just going to stand in the paint.
i.e. what Miami really want to do is go small with Bosh at the 5, but they don't have the personnel to do it any more. Not sure how much of that is on Spo.
By giririsss Go To PostI think you're so far off point on the Spo sucks thing. Spo's a decent enough coach.Spo has a history of not being able to get the most out of his players offensively, I've acknowledged that our roster doesn't fit, that Dragic never really gets to play his game, that Wade's style conflicts with Dragic etc, but there's definitely a ton of room for improvement in regards to coaching.

You have to watch him long enough to understand.
For example in this game, we started hacking DJ in third to cut down on the lead, it worked. We don't do it againfor the rest of the game while the lead grows.
-Game gets tight again. He takes out our best defender(Winslow) and sticks Gerald green on Chris Paul. CP3 proceeds to light GG up.
-Calls multiple plays for a Deng post up. Deng is absolutely terrible in the post. I can count on my hands the amount of time I've seen anything productive out of the post from Deng over the last 2 seasons.
- Hell, Clippers stayed big for the majority of this game and the minutes he played, Hassan was definitely effective, Spo refused him to play him down the stretch(even though the Clips stayed big)
I still think our biggest problem is our spacing. I can grab multiple screens for pretty much any given game from the season so far and there are multiple times where defenders are 7+feet away from the nearest offensive player. The paint is clogged. Dragic can't get there to create anything, Wade can't, often times Bosh can't drive either because he has 3 defenders waiting on him.
and even with that being considered, we shouldn't be fucking dead last in the league in scoring
By masud Go To PostWe trading Melo yet?only if he signs off on it
By blackace Go To Postonly if he signs off on itWhy wouldn't he at this point? I think the real issue is finding a taker.
