LBJ doesn't belong in a top 10. For that matter, I don't think Kobe does, either. When I think of top 10 I think of guys who changed the sport. Kobe is Jordan-lite. He brought nothing new to the table. He based his entire game on MJ's and I always thought that was boring. Was Kobe unfuckittable at one point? Yes. But top 10? Nope. Same goes for LeBron. Also Kobe overstaying his welcome and falling off so hard will not help his legacy.
Regarding Shaq, hmm...even I don't know if I'd put him in top 10. But he'd be close.
All in all, Kobe's #12 is more than fair considering what he's up against...an entire lifetime of legends prior to him.

Yeah I feel like there are quite a few different ways of doing it. I like to think about 3 ways in particular:
- legacy (what you describe, the historical impact on the sport)
- sheer talent (Ewing over Russell, that kind of thing)
- take the one best season of each player (Grant Hill '97 over Paul Pierce)

I guess originality isn't as important to me as dominance and achievements.
Kobe is one of the few guys that dominated a decade - along with Russell and Wilt, Magic and Bird, Jordan, TD. You also got Kareem that dominated from 75-85 and Shaq that dominated from 2000-2006 and Lebron that dominated from 2010-2015 so far. .
Kobe's main thing is that people (not actual basketball players/coaches obviously) don't respect him or like him as much as those other guys. The resume is top 6-8. The "Fuck Kobe" factor pushes him down some.
So we go from I won't let my daughters be in the WNBA because lesbians, to CC fraud but I didn't realize Arenas also had some misogyny to throw at Flint victims,
What an assshole.

By Moris Go To PostI think a lot of you guys are under rating Griff tbh.
I think the problem with Griffin is, Is he to douche baggery that Dwight is to Clown Shoes.
Just that, it appears really hard to get a team that is happy and playing together with him on it. He's Ridiculously talented though. What he did to the rockets in the play offs when CP3 was out was godly. But the guy seems very far removed from humble, something the grizz exploited mercilessly.

They were asking him about it today. He said 'we will see.' He hasn't made up his mind. He loves MSG. But he can only play with Marc and wants to continue playing with him. Interesting dynamic they have.

Just got home. Carmelo is out due to a back-to-back and Thomas has a concussion? They weren't winning the game unless the Grizz play drunk but good lord, I hope it doesn't become a blowout now.
By vic Go To PostI can't believe this shit. They just let KP shot that 3…Have you seen KP the last week?
Knicks finally playing defense again. Started in the 3rd quarter last game. Hope this keeps up.
I keep saying this, any lineup with Williams in it should use him on the pinch post for back door lobs and one dribble drives. Why Sasha is playing that spot right now makes no sense.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver, a little more than three months after saying that rules regarding the "hack-a-player" strategy were unlikely to change, has changed his mind.
"I'm increasingly of the view that we will be looking to make some sort of change in that rule this summer," Silver told USA Today Sports. "Even for those who had not wanted to make the change, we're being forced to that position just based on these sophisticated coaches understandably using every tactic available to them. It's just not the way we want to see the game played."
