West still going to kick the easts ass.
The only problem with the west now versus the last decade is that the 8th seed is bit of a mess. Bunch of teams in rebuilding mode / missing a single piece are just idling in the spot at the moment.
The West still has a lot of really good teams but it's really top heavy. Most of the East's teams have gotten better but none of them are really contenders.
I mean at this point there's like....2 and a half contenders.

By DY_nasty Go To PostAnd they're gonna get upset, making the finals a jokeI don't follow. I don't see GS getting upset.
Unless you mean that the cavs are a contender and they'll get upset? pls don't say by the raptors.
By PSYCH! Go To PostI don't followCleveland probably doesn't even make the finals imo

By PSYCH! Go To Postpls don't say raptorsI don't think the raptors choke forever. Also, I think healthy wiz, heat, and hornets could steal a series. If the Celtics make a solid trade, they could do it too.

By Obama during GSW white house visitIt is rare to be in the presence of guys from the greatest team in NBA history. So we're pretty lucky today because we have one of those players in the the house Steve Kerr

Lol. Obama is amazing.
By blackace Go To PostI mean the 3rd place team in the east would be 6th out west today… however the east is way better than its been in years…Is the east better, or just less top heavy due to no "big 3" shenanigans?
Combo of both to me. Some east teams made smart personnel decisions for the first time in a decade. Combined with a lack of teams really distancing themselves and standing out.
By Dipro Go To Postdoes he get comedy writers in to write stuff like that?of course
By PSYCH! Go To Postof coursei mean besides his regular writers.
i wonder who got that gig.

the east isn't getting smashed by the west so yeah I say they got better.
the east drafted damn well the last few years besides Philly
the 8th seed out west is under 500 for the first time in years but the rest of the playoff teams are looking tough
ESPN wrote an article on the idea that NBA players are potentially dying young because of their size:
It's pretty depressing.
Seventeen days earlier, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, veteran NBA center Darryl Dawkins – legendary destroyer of backboards – had also died of a heart attack. He was 58. Dawkins, like Malone, had no known previous health issues. "First Darryl and then Moses," Silas says. "It just shocked me. It makes me wonder, 'What should they be doing? What should I be doing?'"http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/14712117/larry-bird-believes-nba-big-men-die-young-right
He's not alone. During a seven-month period last year, the NBA lost, in addition to Dawkins and Malone, Anthony Mason, Christian Welp and Jack Haley to heart-related deaths – not one of them was over 60 – while 52-year-old Jerome Kersey died suddenly of a pulmonary thromboembolism. Current players LaMarcus Aldridge, Jeff Green and Channing Frye have had heart issues. Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg cut his playing career short because of a heart condition and underwent open heart surgery last spring. Seven-footer Eddy Curry was hospitalized with an irregular heartbeat at age 22.
It's pretty depressing.

Well thats not necessarily new. Lots of big men in general die young.

On another note, Knicks gotta right the ship if they want a playoff spot. They've been playing bad basketball the last 12 games.
That shortening the rotation to 8 players led to a lot of wins but also a bunch of Predictable wear and tear injuries

By blackace Go To Postnot making light of it… but the NBA went thru a dark era for a min there…A lot of world sports did. (not to belittle the NBA's)
And a lot of people are paying for it later.

Knicks better hope their second unit makes up some of this defecit against Detroit's. Or it's going to be a 20 point game midway through the second
CWebb with the truth. I'm looking at these bums cutting and it looks like me playing ball out there, jogging from one side to the other to create room for an iso guy.
Like brehs, wtf you doin. Cut with purpose. It's the basic element of your offensive scheme.

The shitty cutting is a major reason why they don't get any easy baskets in the half court.
They should be getting 7-10 blind pigs, back door lobs, curls and other layups/dunks a game and they never do.
Knicks back to their early season "can't make shit shooting"
