Orlando has waived forward Chris Copeland after claiming him to reach salary cap floor, sources tell The Vertical. He'll pursue new deal.

The Big O doesn't know why coaches don't extend their defense and put hands in the face of Steph Curry:

“If I've got a guy who's great shooting the ball outside, don't you want to extend your defense out a little bit?” Robertson said, via NJ.com. “I just don't think coaches today in basketball understand the game of basketball. They don't know anything about defenses. They don't know what people are doing on the court. They talk about analytical basketball and stuff like that.”Okay.
“In basketball today, it's almost like if you can dunk or make a 3-point shot, you're the greatest thing since sliced bread."Old man yells at cloud.

is him not watching team double Steph from 35 feet at last playoff
I want to see the Warriors running pick and rolls from half court
By DY_nasty Go To PostIts like people just can't grasp what double teaming a guy that far out does to a defense.
Or that the guy setting picks is 7th in the league in assists and has a guy on the wing making 3 threes a game at 42%
Or the idea that a player can chase someone as good of a ball handler as Curry for 40 feet for 36 minutes.
Or that Curry just won't pass it to someone like Dray and have him initialize the offense and run his defender through ten screens per play.

You played with Klay Thompson at Washington State. How was he as a collegiate teammate, and did you ever imagine that he could reach this level of success?
Honestly, we were roommates, and he was a great guy. In 2009, we played at the [Under 19] World Championships in New Zealand; I played for Australia and he played for the USA. He came over to me and said, ‘Hey, what’s up? Looking forward to you playing at WSU… blah blah blah, I’ll see you next year’. I was like, ‘Oh, that was cool that he came up to say hello’. The next year, he was so quiet, and I barely spoke to him. He’s got all of this hype, his dad is an ex-NBA player, he’s going to go to the draft one day, and he’s averaging 20 a game. I’m a freshman, and I’m like, ‘Damn… This guy is just cool’.
Then the next year, it worked out that we were roomed together (with a couple of other teammates), and we would share the upstairs. Getting to know him that year, with some of the stuff that we did — because Pullman, WA, is such a small town, you had to make your own fun — some of the stories I’ve got about him are pretty crazy. So, we had an upstairs hallway, and one Christmas break we got, I don’t know… $200 for food money or whatever. He goes, ‘Hey man, I’ve already got enough meals for the Christmas break, let’s go down to Tri-State and we’ll get a crossbow!’ I was like, ‘What the hell? Okay, whatever…’
I went down with him, picked out this crossbow, he got it, and we went upstairs. We had these two boxes in a cupboard, and he drew a big target, then said, ‘Oh, have you got a printer?’ He went over and printed a Boston Celtics logo, and put it right in the middle of the target. Because he grew up with his dad playing for the Lakers, I guess he hated the Celtics. He’d stand there in the middle of this hallway with it and just… Bang! Bang! Bang! Firing these arrows into the big boxes, trying to hit the Celtics logo. That was a good time, man. He’s a great guy.
His work ethic was like no other. After a big day in practice, with exams, school, study or whatever, it’d be like 9 or 10 o’clock when most people want to go to the movies or go do something, just hang out, you know? He’d come knocking on my door saying, ‘Hey man, I’m going to shoot. Do you want to come?’ It’d be like 10 o’clock at night, maybe 11, 11:30, it didn’t matter because we’re bored — it’s a small town, there’s nothing you can do. We’d get in his car, drive up, park by the gym, shoot for 45 minutes, and then go get some food and go home. But that’d happen a lot of the time. It wouldn’t be crazy, but he’d get his shots up and… s**t, sometimes I didn’t feel like shooting, but I’d go up just to watch his jumpshot! I think just looking at him shoot made you a better shooter! That thing was so pretty.

I would argue Harden wanting McHale fired and Dwight traded is a pretty good sign. McHale was/is bad at coaching and Howard is a shit teammate who may never play a whole season again.

After the playoffs last year, I don't even have a strong dislike for Harden anymore. Dude is just not a guy you should ever expect anything truly worthwhile from on a basketball court.
By reilo Go To PostDwight ain't the problem here, imo.
Blame Dwight doe.
eh, Harden was pretty spectacular in last year's playoffs minus cept for half of that clippers series.62%TS is insane. That freethrow% at that volume is absolutely ridiculous.
Those stats don't really show all the boneheaded plays Dwight made last postseason. He put up awesome numbers during the portland series despite the fact that he probably killed Houston's offense. Doesn't excuse Harden's shittiness that year though.

By DY_nasty Go To PostHarden had arguably the biggest elimination game choke job of the last 20 years vs GSIdk, I can't really hold it against him, he was balling his ass off vs them that series to no avail and with dwight picking up dumbass fouls every quarter, constantly fighting back from double digit deficits, etc against one of the best teams ever?! Josh Smith getting heavy minutes?
Dude was putting up 32/8/7 on like 66%TS until that game.
Not getting swept was a victory .
I'll never say Dwight's not an idiot. But he's never fucked up a team entirely by himself. Not even Orlando was all on him.

By PSYCH! Go To PostKibner/Gondo - OKC is only -6 and the O/U is 221We're coming off a b2b on the road, and we haven't been able to stop anyone as of late, although Roberson is back which helps. The Pels are wildly inconsistent. I'd stay away from that game.

Pels lost another starter, btw. Their rookie they just signed is out for 6-8 weeks. The injuries continue.
Tonight would qualify as a bad loss. We play the Dubs, Spurs, and Clips a lot coming up. Need to bank some wins.
