By DY_nasty Go To PostThis is rich considering how I told you exactly how and when your team would turn into a dumpster fire. You've been saying it for 7 years. You're more badgering doddering angry old man than you are Nostradamus. Your "prediction" is shit. Meanwhile you've held more L's about players than the bobcats have collected in the same span.
By reilo Go To PostIt's also rich given that by every metric, his starting PG is worse defensively and has a WS/48 of 0.038. Jose Calderon has a WS/48 of 0.100 and a better DWS. And his team is 28th in DRtg. *sips coffee*So now that the annual "lillard snub asg" campaign has ended it's full on deflection mode again?
Cool.
Where is Adam
Im curious about Dmos back and what he had done.
There's also a luxury tax appreciation thread on Clutchfans

Cool.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI was only shitting on phx after they traded IT. I actually liked them.
Why for trading him? The mistake was signing him. Even if you are a big IT fan, he played a position they were already stacked at. Was bound to backfire as a signing.

Thing about Phoenix though is that you can't think of a team with as many assets and positive momentum making such a calculated effort to derail itself. What went down in Arizona was worse than Minnesota.

I read your shit, i've also read a dozen "in the last x games" lillard posts in the last 2 pages, trax.

I still think it could have worked, but ego's got in the way in the back court and immaturity in the front court. Whenever I talked about that suns roster I always pointed out that young teams like that have a propensity to implode. And they did.
Shit happens, and I really like the rooks coming through now. Also not ready to give up on Len yet.
By giririsss Go To PostI read your shit, i've also read a dozen "in the last x games" lillard posts in the last 2 pages, trax.Uhuh
Last time I checked, lillard was still 21st worst keep-in-front% this year. But he should've been an all-star over LMA.
Being bored i have been trolling the suns reddit. This thread got pretty brutal: Should the suns fire Aaron Nelson?
And deservedly so.
And deservedly so.
reilo what are your thoughts on McCollum and the rest of your young pieces. And who you reasonably think you can get to make your team a threat? I think there is potential in the Trailblazers with some of your players breaking out. Do you think your team as it is with maybe one or two better pieces, is as good or better than your original Lillard/Matthews/Batum/Aldridge/Lopez core?
I would ask about the Suns because I am very interested in Devin Booker after the terrible comparisons Jalen Rose keep made to Nik Staukas and other Klay Thompson "clones". But the rest of the team and the terrible management do not interest me until they act like they can be competent like in their glory years.

If Blazers had a Draymond Green type to start at PF and an Iguodala type to come off the bench, they'd be dangerous. The obvious examples giving the make-up of the team.
Who can you even reasonably sign or trade tho considering most of your other role players are not very attractive? Seeing that you are barely making the salary threshold as it is.

Most of the terrible decisions seem to come from sarver, not McDonough. Which is both a positive and a negative. He really needs to stay the fuck out of basketball decisions.
Allen Crabbe is pretty awesome. I like him as backup SG. Not sure what Rinerts brings. Moe Harkless is playing really well recently but inconsistent.
By reilo Go To Posta Draymond Green type
What is that? You're quoting one of the most unique players in today's NBA.
damian lillard is fuckin shredding the league right now - his performance against the warriors was incredible. love guys who play harder after being snubbed like he was. He should have def been an all-star and now i think he's moving into all-nba territory. If he keeps up his play and the blazers keep winning, he might find himself in the mvp discussion as well (though it will be very hard for anyone other than steph to win imo)
By Gabyskra Go To PostWhat is that? You're quoting one of the most unique players in today's NBA.
I think what he means is any kind of smaller big man who can pass and shoot. So Boris Diaw lite.
Even then that is subject to the coaching and offensive system that stott play and if it can work,
By Gabyskra Go To PostWhat is that? You're quoting one of the most unique players in today's NBA.I mean he asked what it would take for them to be dangerous, and given how talented the league is especially at the top, that's what it would take unfortunately.
I guess in short: a selfless PF that plays elite defense, rebounds and is dangerous from the three. He doesn't need to be a triple-double machine, but Green wasn't that last year when they won it all, either.

By shun Go To PostI think what he means is any kind of smaller big man who can pass and shoot. So Boris Diaw lite.Gabys right in that the "second big" position is actually becoming a really in demand position, and there aren't a lot of great options. We've seen people run big SF's there like melo/lbj/PG. We've seen the stretch big in frye/ryno. But a lot of that is falling by the way side because not many people can duplicate those players properly.
Even then that is subject to the coaching and offensive system that stott play and if it can work,
I keep looking at teams like the Pels and to free up space down low they really don't want to run Asik, but they need to because AD is so fragile. Their "second big" is kiliing them. And as i dream of trades for the suns, i get stuck.
Which makes it even more amazing how much Love is crippled on that cavs team.
Chris Bosh on the Heat during the Lebron-era is also part of that prototype. He obviously can't run point-forward like Draymond, but he is in that same archetype.
By DY_nasty Go To PostClosest thing to Draymond on the market is Batum. Can't guard bigs like Dray can.
By DY_nasty Go To PostClosest thing to Draymond on the market is Batum. We had him, more of a steals/fast break guy then a rough and tumble one. People will disagree but the closest we had to Dray was honestly Matthews but he's gone now. He always had to play the peripherals because Aldridge was 4 and Lopez was 5. But he had a 3, could defend like hell and had paint moves.
By reilo Go To PostChris Bosh on the Heat during the Lebron-era is also part of that prototype. He obviously can't run point-forward like Draymond, but he is in that same archetype.Yeah. There was an era of really decent PF's who could run at C or play along side another big. Amare, Bosh, Pau, Horford, Milsap, Thad Young, KG, Duncan, Dirk, LMA.

shit's legal now brah
Good to be back. Bought the half season league pass at the break. $99 for every team with archives is a deal.
Watching OKC vs Cle replay now. Kyrie starting his annual missing of games?

A guy that can reliably run and move the offense after the pnr is. Yeah, you can't put him at center but he's still one of the very few passing wings that gives an offense that versatility. A stretch 5 is all you'd need next to him. In Portland's case, Leonard for stretches.

By HasphatsAnts Go To PostSucks. I like Motiejunas a lot actually. Shame to see this.I was sad to see him go. He was really important to us last season, and there's still part of me that hopes he can return, even if it isn't right now.
That PF position has been covered by a series of bandaid solutions: Capela (a 5), Harrell (a second round rookie), Ariza (a 3), and now Josh Smith (Josh Smith). The two players groomed to take over that position have been struck down by back and nerve issues (and Jones has just started practicing again after a car accident). Shit's unfortunate, but anything to give good ol' SLAENT a laugh, right?
