Morey (and Hinkie by association) are smart dudes who ignore that they are dealing with real live people. Harden and Dwight is sound on paper. But both have proved to be emotional ass dudes....the human element is pretty important.
Also Morey's NO LONG TWOOOOOZ offense has some issues....can't speak for the Rockets but so many times, we have OPEN jumpers that we pass up for throwing ourselves at the rim or forcing bad threes (which often leads to TOs...and fastbreaks).
Bright guy who didn't actually think about the things that don't pop on paper

Yeah, most of the criticism about Morey is the lack of the consideration of the human element.
Morey's interpretation of the "long two's are the worst shot in basketball" is moronic. And considering how all the coaches that have come through have implemented versions of that same philosophy you have to think it comes fro the FO / GM.

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine 37m37 minutes agoForgot about the Clippers pursuing Frye.
ESPN sources say Cavaliers have made an offer featuring Anderson Varejao for Channing Frye in an attempt to pre-empt Clippers' deal for Frye
D'Angelo Russell will come off the bench against the Spurs on Friday.Hey, he's still thinking about it. What more do you want? At least he's planning.
Coach Byron Scott wants to think about when to start the rookie. Of course, he did have an entire week to think about this, which isn't a great sign for Russell starting any time soon.
By PSYCH! Go To PostForgot about the Clippers pursuing Frye.Frye would be such a huge get for them if he hasn't dropped off too much from PHX.

Why would anybody want Varejao? He's done, never healthy and makes way too much money for the next two years.
By rodeoclown Go To PostWhy would anybody want Varejao? He's done, never healthy and makes way too much money for the next two years.I dont' know why anyone would have given him that contract. It's stupid.
By PSYCH! Go To PostKibner, how do you feel about the Ryno-Love trade rumors?Don't give a fuck. It's all been in context of a three team trade and the Pels aren't getting back Love. If they can dump the Asik contract somehow, that'd be great.
Ryno likely won't sign with the Pels so getting anything for him would be great. I like him but Davis isn't good enough on defense to make up for his short comings.

TBH, next to AD is one of the few really good front line fits for Love. It's a really interesting pairing.

By giririsss Go To PostRyno has spent a significant amount of time hurt too, hasn't he?Literally the entire core (Jrue, Gordon, Evans, Ryno, Davis) has spent significant time injured. They have appeared in 37 games together over three seasons.

Love is a better player than Anderson in every aspect except maybe fade aways.

AD has a post game. And so does Love. Love's is actually p.good.
But the Pels have no spacing at all, so AD is always facing a clogged paint.
Sort of like how we bitch about blake not getting to the rim as much anymore. But they're playing DJ more now, and that clogs up the paint for him too.

The Sacramento Kings have fired assistant coach Vance Walberg, league sources told @TheVertical.
I assume this is for his continued leaks to the media about players he wants gone.

We're brothers. Jeff Green for Jimmy Butler straight up, you're in?
I still assume they aren't firing Karl because they don't have room yet in their coach graveyard. Whalberg is a grandfather of the dribble drive offense, which has had Boogie hanging out at the 3pt line this year and killed his efficiency. This is some power battle with Karl, but it's also about having a sensible offense.
The rumors of bringing in Mike Brown for defense are a little worrisome. He's a good defensive assistant coach. I just don't like him lingering in the wings. On the other hand, he is the guy Michael Malone coached under in Cleveland, and I can't think that's just coincidence. Corliss (guy rumored to replace Karl when fired) also first came over with Malone.
