Definitely going to do something about the mass adding and dropping of backups for next year's league. People are adding players and dropping them the minute a game ends, it's just silly now and it totally circumvents the waivers process. Simple thing would be to make waivers Sunday-Tuesday, but that might be a bit much. Maybe something like "after games start anyone picked up must stay on your roster until the waiver period ends" or something.
Peyton Manning, One Man TeamHE COULDN'T SLING ANY TOUCHDOWNS AT DEMARYIUS YESTERDAY?
Whoops, I missed that O.Munn's Tight End has clinched a playoff spot in the league mail I sent. Congrats!

We cant drop anyone as soon as games end unless they were on the bench, and you can't pick anyone up as soon as games end off the wire unless they were on byes. Am I missing something here?
We cant drop anyone as soon as games end unless they were on the bench, and you can't pick anyone up as soon as games end off the wire unless they were on byes. Am I missing something here? No, you can pick up a guy if his game hasn't started yet. Games don't lock until that game starts.
This is what has been happening: There's a progression from the Thursday game to the Sunday 1 PM games to the 4 pm games to the 8 PM game and then the Monday Night game. Cloudy has been abusing that this season (and last), now Ubertag is starting to do it. It's another way to circumvent waivers by taking advantage of the Gametime-Tuesday waiver system.
Let's say I had Isiah Crowell I picked up from the Thursday game, hoping he wins the RB job. After the Thursday game I drop him for a lottery ticket guy playing a 1 PM game (let's say Jonas Gray). He does nothing from most of the game, so I drop him for a lottery ticket guy in the 4:25 game (Davante Adams) BEFORE the game starts. No injuries to Cobb or Nelson, so I then drop him for one in the 8 PM game (say Juwan Thompson). He does nothing, so I drop him for Jordan Mathews in the Monday Night game, and then Mathews blows up. You effectively use one roster spot to swap 4-5 lotto ticket players with no penalty at all. It basically turns a roster spot into a turnstile, waiting for the injury/breakout performance in order to keep that guy and keeping him away from waivers.
I talked to a few guys on some other DFS boards and that suggestion stops that swapping from happening, because that 1st player can't be dropped unless you use another player and a roster spot, hence giving a cost.
ah.
Eh, i don't have a problem with that. Everyone has that same shot at the Jordan Matthews - it doesn't matter who they dropped for it.
Can you even configure yahoo to do what was suggested to you? Not sure if you can.

ah.If you picked up Mathews, that's great but it's not the point: It's the constant switching/shuffling of a roster spot and shedding of the guy you just picked up that's the issue. Case in point: I could just roster-switch most every key backup in the later games if I wanted, it sets a bad precedent and like I said, circumvents waivers/FAAB. By doing what I read up about, it basically clearly defines a roster move and a stash. I mean people can still stream, they'd just need to drop a player other than the one they picked up. Also, let's say you wanted Davante Adams for the 4 o'clock game, and you just got sniped of him. Wouldn't you get a bit peeved if 4 hours later he's dropped after not even being used?

This is something that can't be a trend, and will end next year. Something like that wouldn't be in the Yahoo config, it'd have to be in for next year's charter. Which this time I'll remember to write.

Yeah. I don't really care about any of that. If i wanted Davante Adams and I got sniped, i shouldn't be any more peeved if he's dropped without even being used. Either way I lost out on him after having the exact same shot as the other guy to claim him.
I don't really see this as abuse - it's simply the way the FA system is set up. You can pick up players, and then drop them without having used them. And its all just speculative adds of fringe players. We can all do it. No one is getting an advantage over anyone else. The only thing it hurts is feelings.
I just noticed Adam and Peterboy never adjusted their teams... Adam just posted on the board today wtf? Giving free wins away.
Would have thought for sure Everyone wants KCs D would have dropped Walker to try to pad the win. Here's hoping that my Titans can win and that Bryant can put up 10.
There are e-mails? I don't think I've received a single e-mail so far. What e-mail did you enter into the Yahoo FF site? That's the one it sends everything to.
Oh there was just one e-mail, right? The one that says "trading deadline tribulations"? Then I did not miss it. Thought there had been more.
I don't mean to brag, but
The manager of 1% Defense Force was probably the person who destroyed the curve on every test in school. They scored 114.49 points against a projected 102.70 and beat their scoring projection for the fourth time this season, including the last three weeks in a row.

Key Matchups
6-5 Measure of a Manning vs 6-5 Swanging Tannys - Battle to clinch a spot in the Top half of the playoffs, loser could fall out of race depending on next week.
4-7 Faillball am fail vs. 4-7 New Orleans Phoenix - Loser is eliminated from the playoffs.
5-6 Late Drafters vs. 4-7 Welker''s Molly Dealer - Late Drafters needs to win to stay in the playoff race, while Welker's Molly Dealer needs a win to keep their hopes alive.
Playoff Chances - At least ONE 6-7 team will make the playoffs, Yahoo! Projections say THREE could.
Seasons and Late Drafters need to win this week. They don't necessarily have to win out unless they win and only score like 60-70 points doing so.
Pixel Pirates and ScythD's Team need to win 1 game and score a ton of points OR win out.
Welkers Molly Dealer, Faillball am fail, and New Orleans Phoenix need to win out.
Amazingly The Hibachi Grill COULD still make the playoffs, but they need to win out to get to 5-8, score a ton of points in his remaining games to win a tibreak, and get alot of help.

Just wanted to reply to the league email I received. At this point, the Phoenix is fielding the best team that it can - for better or worse. Our lineup isn't changing because there isn't anything better to change it to :( Maybe next year there should be a smaller bench so that perhaps an injury or two won't cripple a teams chances of recovery.

You have $86 unused dollars... one injury should never set you back in this system.
For The Hibachi Grill to survive until next week I believe he needs Long Island Broskis to beat ScythD's Team... it's gonna go down to the wire.
Nah, it's over for Hibachi. 4 teams ahead of him for the 8th spot, including Seasons that has like 70 more points. He would have to beat Seasons by that amount, it's not happening. If Seasons wins, he's in. Tannys and Drafters are pretty much in. KCs D and Seasons are in the balance, that's all, the current top 6 will be in, in some order.
Here is the way it'll go down according to me:
1. Munn
2. Defense force
3. Broskis
4. Manning
5. Drafters
6. Seasons
7. Tannys
8. Failball
KCs D is out, and a bit of reshuffling on top.
Then
Wk14
1-8 Munn beats Failball
2-7 Defense Force beats Tannys
3-6 Seasons beats Broskis (upset)
4-5 Drafters beats Manning (upset)
Wk15
1-5 Munn beats Drafters
2-6 Defense Force beats Seasons
And who knows about wk16.

I'll do another writeup probably tomorrow. I have to wait until after waivers so I can factor in current Yahoo! Playoff Projections
Yeah I don't see myself winning any more games unless my team blows the fuck up. Given some of the players I have (torrey smith, russell wilson, aj green, giovani bernard) they definitely could exploded for a ton of points, but I doubt it :( fun league tho haha.
It is a fun league. Lots of people are competitive. Very different strategical approaches too. Manning wanted to trade really bad, Drafters reshuffled his roster like crazy, Tannys went for the no RB strategy during the draft, I (Munn) saved up on my FAAB bids a bit more than others which meant that I got a number of waivers today (Blount, Miami, Cameron)...
I wish we traded more, but somehow it never happened, people being cautious with money, I think.

New forum is awesome... I'm sorry the writeup is late, still in NJ with family and this effing snow is not helping. I hope to have it done sometime tonight.
Okay here are the permuatations/odd for the playoffs...
2187 possible result permutations were calculated, with the possibility of tie-games considered in the calculations.
5 is the minimum number of wins needed for any chance at a Wildcard spot, and the Playoff Computer predicts that 6 wins are most realistically necessary for a Wildcard spot.
Swangin' Tannys (6-6-0): Fate uncertain. Wildcard odds: Clinch 91%. Tie 8%.

So do I need to win this week to even have a chance at the playoffs? That's what I'm getting from all this... Crap haha.
How can my partially autodrafted team in another league be owning noobs by in here I'm getting smacked around like a child? Maybe I just need more practice against smart ff players.

Going over the numbers... unless the Jets put on a aerial display they've yet to all season (and some people actually check injury reports on their teams), I think we can finalize the Regular Season Standings. Again this is assuming the Monday Night game holds to form:
1. O.Munn's Tight End (11-2)
2. 1% Defense Force (10-3)
3. Long Island Broskis (9-4)
4. Measure of a Manning (8-5)
5. Late Drafters (7-6)
6. Seasons (6-7)
7. Swangin' Tannys (6-7)
8. Everyone wants KC's D (6-7)
Seasons (VPhys) came back from a 1-4 record to not only make the playoffs, but nab the 6th spot with a team that certainly has enough firepower to contend for a title. Swanging Tannys (Peterbrah) stumbled down the stretch losing their last 3 games, but backed into the playoffs when O.Munn's Tight End beat Pixel Pirates and ScythD's Team beat* Faillball am Fail. Everyone wants KC's D (balddemon) also stumbled down the stretch, losing 3 of their final 4 but managed to back into the playoffs despite failing every playoff scenario in the Playoff Generator. How did they make it? The old-fashioned way and the only one I couldn't project for: Total Points For. As of this writing he holds a 63.13 points lead over ScythD's Team (scythD), who started the year 5-1 before a six games losing streak killed their playoff chances.
To those who didn't make the playoffs, I thank you for joining the league this year and hope to see your guys next year. For those who did, congratulations and enjoy the ups and downs of the Second Season!

By GabyskraSo what kind of money are we playing for now? I seem to remember 230 dollars for first.http://slaent.com/thread/58446/page/1/post/60670/
1st: $230
2nd: $139
3rd: $86
4th: $35
By diehardi got screwed.Well... you did play alot of injured players. The hour before games start between 12-1 is one of the most important times for checking injury data and who's playing. Roddy White was a gametime decision and announced out before the game started, and Charles Clay has been out since Saturday.
i hate you all.
At least it gave you experience for next year!
I think yahoo projections are down for about everyone in week14, I wouldn't put too much into it. Who really has easy matchups now? I should check everyone's roster.
Playoff Matchups Primer coming up probably this afternoon after waivers. It will be sent to the playoff teams only, as well as a few interesting vids/anecdotes/quotes on Fantasy Football I found interesting.

Ugh, I knew it. Shitloads of tough matches for my team this week and they are laying a big fat fucking egg. My opponent has a pretty decent chance of pulling this out.
I think we can call it in the four matchups. Instead of waiting for waivers fuck it, I'm writing the Playoff crap tomorrow night and getting it ready for Wednesday. Work killed me last week.
