By balddemonGaby you only beat me because I had an mmf 3some on Saturday.
Ahah! Oh man, makes me miss the good old IRC days.
I'm regretting not putting Kerwynn Williams as my W/R/T option. 8.6 points would have been alright for that spot, especially since Boldin is playing the Seahawks.
By Theold IRC joke, but it really did happen haha.By balddemonGaby you only beat me because I had an mmf 3some on Saturday.
wha?
…
I.. I
I got nothing.
Team Huevos on full display here. However may regret Jennings over Tate... Giants Injury Report games pissing me off.
EDIT: Jennings hurt on the 1st play of the game.
of course

Yeah... so far the Championship game is not going well for me. All of the players that Seasons has going today who had bust potential have outscored their projections. I know my projections are a bit conservative (Eli Manning 12.8? Baltimore D only 8 facing a 3rd string QB? LOL) but it looks like I'll need north of 120 to have a shot. Seasons is in a strong position.
Congrats Frankman, but since you're commish, you probably should be gracious and celebrate only after paying people their earnings. :)
By GabyskraCongrats Frankman, but since you're commish, you probably should be gracious and celebrate only after paying people their earnings. :)Hey I'm being nice! I haven't even done the victory speech with Photoshop yet!
By GabyskraSo, where's my money? It's been days now.Money will be paid before Gametime 1 PM EST. I was trying to sync it at the same time I sent my victory speech, but I'm having a tough time finishing the write-up for Chapter 6, where I'm inspired by the words of Al Pacino in "Any Given Sunday" and find the inspiration to overcome all odds. So I'm cutting/pasting a shorter one.
It's just a paypal transfer. How is it related to some sort of roleplaying? You were pretty intense about how fees were to be paid on time (as you should have been), but you sure are taking your time to pay people back. The showboating won't help. Who cares about Al Pacino, you beat me because the best quarterback this season decided to suck for fantasy playoffs. Just gimme the 35 dollars, i'll get myself some japanese delivery and not think about it anymore.
Money has been sent out, thank you to all who participated! I definitely will start recruiting earlier next year (mid-July) so none of the problems plauging the start of this season occur. I anticipate 16 team this time and depending on how many sharks are in the league, vote on a higher buy-in. Hopefully things were learned about Fantasy Football and the rules of FAAB, and I hope to see you guys next year. I want to give a big personal shout-out to diehard and Adam Blade for joining a buy-in League despite being a bit new to Fantasy Football, and I hope to see you guys next year if possible. Final League standings are:
1st - Measure of a Manning (8-5) - The Frankman ($230)
2nd - Seasons (6-7) - Vphys ($139)
3rd - 1% Defense Force (10-3) - Enron ($86)
4th - O.Munn's Tight End (11-2) - Gabyskra ($35)
5th - Late Drafters (7-6) - cloudy
6th - Long Island Broskis (9-4) - Uber_tag
7th - Swangin' Tannys (6-7) - Peterbrah
8th - Everyone wants KCs D (6-7) - balddemon
9th - ScythD's Team (6-7) - scythD
10th - Pixel Pirates (5-8) - diehard
11th - Faillball am fail (5-8) - Adam Blade
12th - Welkers Molly Dealer (4-9) - knicks
13th - The Hibachi Grill (4-9) - donjeezy
14th - New Orleans Phoenix (4-9) - Phoenix
End Year Victory Speech
It is customary in Fantasy Sports that whoever wins a league write a cocky, arrogant letter to everyone else talking about how smart they are and then receive hate and negative name calling about how they are full of shit and they're "just lucky" or that "you cheated because you are the commissioner!" or whatever. I don't really do that stuff but here goes.
With me... I think the reason I won was for the 1st time I didn't really change my season/draft plan after injuries destroyed me the first 4-5 games. I wanted to draft a 3 Deep strong WR core and supplement them with volume RBs who weren't flashy but were 15-20 touch guys who could passcatch/got goalline carries... other words, a modified ZeroRB draftwise and yearlong All I require then is a high-floor QB who could get me 15 fantasy points per game. Once RGIII and Josh McCown got injured, I just went back to the guy who I had and had a pretty decent fantasy sched for QBs in Eli Manning (who passes in a Ben McAdoo Green Bay scheme and really catalpulted once Odell Beckham Jr. got healthy). Golden Tate became Detroit's #1 receiver due to injury and I picked up Torrey Smith off waivers (Steve Smith Jr. was bound to regress due to age)... and I had my 4 Deep WR Core. I went to target another mid-range volume (5-7 catches) TE who was a big part of their teams passing attack in Delanie Walker and traded for him. With my RB situation questionable down the stretch I tried to target a RB with a great fantasy sched down the stretch and overpaid so I could get him (Joique Bell). It's like Matthew Berry said "at a fundamental level, fantasy football is all about minimizing risk and giving yourself the best odds to win. On a weekly basis… Instead, stack the odds in your favor, put yourself in the best possible position to succeed and hope for the best." That's basically what I try to do each year, and somehow with a team I doubt was my best historically I got 1st.
... time to party. This one goes out to you Puddles, I'm the CHAMP BAY-BEE!
Individual managers, as we wrap this thing up, please feel free to post your own thoughts on your team, and where you feel things went right or wrong for you this year.

But why not mention Donnell, Steve Smith Sr., or Boldin's sub-par outings? I could also say if I had started Baltimore D over St. Louis D it wouldn't have mattered, but I didn't. Again, it's trying to find the best combination of talent and matchup per week, and at it's core it's skill, trying to minimize risk and a good dose of luck.
.... btw that whole victory speech chapter/Al Pacino thing was a joke. Lighten up.
