By Killer7 Go To PostEver since the 2nd round he looked done.Never recovered after that first knock down while Ruiz got back up pretty damn fast.
Prob has a rematch clause but fair play to this lad.
AJ getting booed
I think he lacks stamina in general
By KP Go To PostExcatly the same happened vs Whyte and Klito. He gets hit and he empties

This is what he gets for all the bullshit with Wilder and Fury, now you gotta chase both of them....meanwhile they can just go after Ruiz and line up a trilogy with each other. Sucker.
Just an amazing lack of ring IQ.
Get hurt and knocked down rushing in after landing a big shot.
Then keep doing exactly that the rest of the fight.

Yeah, should have taken a couple of rounds and kept him at distance with the jab. Don't think he properly comes back from this.

Rob McCracken between every round "Use your jab, just jab, do not throw hooks, do not throw hooks"
AJ goes out throwing hooks lol

One last thing before I get my hour sleep (lol)
The rematch wont happen. AJ will try and rebuild slowly. He loses the rematch its all over. I'd expect him to fight a few fringe guys before getting a shot at a title once one of the alphabet bodies strip Ruiz for being mexican

He should stay there and work on his acting skills
and then next time he quits maybe it wont be so obvious

Mexican Excellence
As much fun as I have had making fun of AJ. Lets not all forgot Wlad got bodied several times in very similar circumstances, heavyweight boxing in general is littered with huge upsets.
I think all 3 of these guys would be getting beat regularly back in the 90s

By Apollo Go To PostBruh every time he threw a punch he caught a combo back.
AJ a fraud
He fights small, for as much shit as Wilder gets for his skills he at least uses his reach and height to his advantage while AJ fights down and constantly reaches while lowering himself.
By domino Go To Postjoshua garbage as hell for this shit manyou hate to see this kind of thing happen

There may not have been a rematch clause in the contract, and Ruiz hasn't said he'll give him one yet either.
Re watched the fight. Would like to see AJ get a new trainer and work on some defense/fighting on the back foot and fighting as a big man.
I don't think he's truly chinny, we've seen him take big shots off the likes of Povetkin and be fine. First knockdown just scrambled his brain and he never recovered or had the skills to fight smart and give himself time to recover.
As long as he can recover mentally and gear himself up he can come back from this.

He needs a new trainer that can teach him to fight big and boring, he has fundamental issue like his stance being too wide. He throws a jab and he's not much taller than Ruiz because of his stance which is why someone so much shorter can counter him. All the shit Wilder gets about his skills and he never fights small like Joshua does.
The perfect trainer for him would have been Stewart.

I think there’s probably something in the rumours that he was dropped sparring.
By Slizz Go To PostRematch happens, Joshua wins back belts, stays running from Wilder.he offered wilder a fight for April. none of them are scared.
rematch confirmed btw

Hearing 2 theories about Joshua and poor performance. One sounds unlikely but apparently when they panned to his locker room for his entrance, it was just dead air on a closed door for a while.... Heard on local radio apparently his dad was furious and Joshua was having a panic attack and wanted to call the fight off.
I personally don't buy any of that.
Second one is, he's been down here in Miami for this last fights camp. Rumors are he got KO'ed in sparring bad. Never really recovered.
That I can believe a little bit more because there was multiple times in the fight where it looked like he forgot how to box professionally. He also kept constantly asking his corner "what did he hit me with?" and they kept saying a hook, but each round he asked the same question.

He was defo duffed up in sparring as he had swelling and marked up in fight week, but its not uncommon for fighters to be dropped in sparing. If he was brutally KO'd i'd be surprised. But even having a few rough sessions would be enough to make him tentative in the early rounds.
I think it was Ruiz that scrambled his brain though, nothing else.

This is the fighter rumored to have knocked out Joshua :
He's 5'10" 240lbs and for Joshua's sake I hope this isn't true since he's pretty much a journeyman.
