What are people's thoughts on it at this point? I really enjoyed the first game but never finished the second because I thought the bosses weren't great and there were too many of them along with the world being disappointing. Where would you rank it in the series?
A little bit better than 2, not as a good as 1.
Some of the best Souls bosses, though. They definitely brought their A-game in regards to that.

I think I played it on PS1 but I don't think I completed it. If I did I don't remember much about it.
I think I heard it shares its scenario writer with Xenogears, so that in combination with people talking about Setsuna motivated me to play the DS version.
Only about an hour in but it's already a much better playing game than Xenogears lol. Looking forward to my time with it.

Me and three friends are getting together to play through the PS1 version tomorrow. One of us has never played it and another has never beaten it. We will be switching off who controls the game every now and then and will be voice acting the lines (because that is always fun in a group). Should be great fun!

Devs are not going to cater to the PC 1%.I think it will be exactly how it was. There is no forcing AFR through the driver but honestly that has always been kinda garbage anyway. At worst i could see the difference being that instead of Proper SLI/Xfire support vs Garbage AFR, it will be Proper mGPU vs no mGPU. The larger engines and games from good developers will still support mGPU. Just look at all the crap Blizzard is getting for their 21:9 support, and that has to be far less used than multi-gpu setups.
The new abstraction layer that MS is releasing could actually provide an easier path to multiple GPU's than SLI or Xfire did, with some added features like combined memory pools and split-frame rendering.

Not really. Phsyx support is few and far between anyway, and these GPUs are plenty powerful to do it on one card.
The day mGPU is well-supported and doesn't have micro-stutter is the day I consider maybe upgrading to it.

Yeah both CUDA and OpenCL physics API's have been underwhelming. Which kinda sucks because its so cool when used right, Flex in Killing Floor 2 is awesome.

The second disc of the game sucked because there was almost no game. The writing and/or translation was also not to the level it needed to be in order to tell the story it wanted.

Xenogears' plot can be accurately described as a mess (I love it), but the gameplay is quite modern despite the random encounters and how slow it can be, but the mechanics are fantastic.

Has one of the most compelling and ambitious narratives in the genre though. Maybe in the medium as a whole.
but I wouldn't recommend it to other people at all lol
New Titan X, which I'm going to refer to as Titan XP, because nvidia is dumb, is 60% faster than Titan X. I'm assuming that's at stock clocks too. It also doesn't have the full CUDA core count that a full Pascal chip has. So it could be another Titan/Titan Black situation.

nah this doesn't really matter to me unfortunately. there's no multiplayer with PC vs Xbox which means im gonna have to play on Xbox anyway since
1) Lets be honest, it's not on Steam or Battle.net so the game is already dead on PC
2)Even if it wasn't dead, my friends are on xbox.
