Too lazy download the game.
Starting to dig in deeper on the new TV front. I got a 55" now. Rtings.com is a really good source for TV reviews, and is what I'm using .
Looking at 65" minimum, and will be 4k. Right now it's down to Vizio P65-C1 ($2,000), Samsung KS9000 ($3,000), and LG OLED65B6P ($5,000).
Input Lag
P65-C1 - 17.7ms
KS9000 - 20.5ms
65B6P - 34.2ms
That OLED price...but it is unquestionably the best all around TV out of these 3. Also supports BOTH HDR10 and Dolby Vision, but input lag is higher. But these OLED sets are essentially the end game, and is forward looking tech.

I used to hype up the Vizio P, and I need to look it more, but when I was browsing earlier I didn't find the P up to the standards of the KS and OLED lines visually, despite specs saying otherwise.
The KS8000 is the best buy right now value wise. The KS9000 isn't worth it, not appreciably better picture wise but significantly pricier than the KS8000. I really suggest going to a best buy and checking out the KS vs the OLED's. I think you'll be surprised. Yes yes I know, calibration, but Best Buy tends to do a good job of having a fair comparison, at least in my spot. I think you're unlikely to see a calibration there that's so bad that you feel like you can't get a decent comparison going.
Our TV downstairs is a pretty recent 4k Samsung model, 2014. I've played 2k on it a couple of times and I was honestly pretty shook. Both my brother and I commented on the lack of input lag--and I'm a guy who played on a 24 inch gsync set and bought an old CRT for FPS's because of how sensitive I am to it. So the KS line will be completely straight for gaming. But to be fair I'm sure the OLED's are also.

The next step is to def head to Best Buy now that I've got some models narrowed down. May add a Sony in there too. Whatever set I o with will be superior to the garbage Samsung 55" I'm using now. The input lag is terrible and there's clouding everywhere. Literally got it 5 years go because it looked good.
If your room is setup such that people will often find themselves watching the tv at an angle, then I can't recommend the KS8000. The only thing I wish it had on the software side was native support for googlecast and a WatchESPN app. I ended up buying a Chromecast.
There is something weird happening when I use Steam Link and transition to a dark screen. The whole picture goes dimmer. I couldn't find a setting on the TV to fix that, so I assume it is on the Steam or NVidia (their encoding specifically) side.
If you have any questions about the tv, let me know. I have a colorimeter, receiver, and several latest spec HDMI cables coming this week that I can't wait to hookup.

I done seen it with my own eyes
This Pokemon GO is officially legit in my eyes. I walk into work and 4 other grown men (in their 40+) talking about this game, and pull out there phones to see if any were around to catch. They then a started talking at a high level about the game mechanics, the gyms, best places on campus etc.

I platinumed Steins;Gate. The first half of that game was pretty dumb, but from chapter 6 onward (except chapter 7, that was mostly pretty dumb too) the story was pretty damn good and shockingly dark at times like when he's stuck in the 2 day time loop and lets Daru die and starts contemplating raping the female characters because they're all just puppets of causality. I'm not sure I'm on board with people who say it's the greatest visual novel of all time - if Telltale games count I generally prefer their tone - and the writing was often didactic and dragged on a bit. But I definitely get why it's something that people could fall in love with. I'll check out the sequel when it inevitably goes on sale. (Kinda got burned buying this game day one, it was 50% off on PSN within 8 months).

Yeah, I think the viewing angle difference is much more noticable than any different in black level. Personally I've never understood viewing angle concerns though--like, when I'm off to the side setting up chips and dip before sitting back directly in front of my set, I'm not exactly giving a shit about the quality of what I'm looking at.
I'm really interested in your take on Overwatch on the OLED though. Hows the input lag? Are you playing up to your standards on it?
Unravel and Need For Speed are up at EA Access and Origin's Vault. Still kind of surprised by EA "giving" out a game that came out for the PC in March.
I don't think he (Kibner) has OLED
Yeah I just resigned up for the service. Too much value to not use for $5.

Yeah, the KS8000 is an LED, not OLED. As far as the input lag goes, it is quick enough for most. There is a tiny, tiny amount but there really isn't any big screen TV out there that would make me completely happy with its input lag. As is, the TV puts you ~1.5 frames behind a game running @ 60 fps. The monitor I'm used to at home is right around 1 full frame @ 60 fps so there wouldn't be much difference between the two.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostYeah, I think the viewing angle difference is much more noticable than any different in black level. Personally I've never understood viewing angle concerns though–like, when I'm off to the side setting up chips and dip before sitting back directly in front of my set, I'm not exactly giving a shit about the quality of what I'm looking at.It depends on how your viewing area is setup and how many people will typically watch at the same time. Like, if you are a bachelor and it is almost always just you watching the TV, then viewing angles likely don't matter. But if you have a family or a bunch of roomates or something and there are frequently lots of people watching the TV at once, then some will most likely be watching at an angle that ruins the picture for this particular TV.
With monitors, it is less of a big deal, unless you are showing your screen to people pretty often (maybe for like, feedback on photoshop or drawing stuff or something, I dunno). It is slightly more important for portable machines because I find it isn't terribly uncommon that two people watch a movie or show or something on a tablet. Because the screen is so small, at least one of them will be viewing at a steep angle.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postwait I thought Kibner has OLEDYeah, the 55" KS8000. It had the best combination of input lag, picture quality, and price for me. Got it and the additional Best Buy warranty during their July 4th sale for $1,700 after taxes. I can't remember if it was $1,300 or $1,400 before the warranty and taxes.
you have a KS kibner?
Platinumed Grim Fandango too, it wasn't that hard. Though I say without shame that I used a guide - there's way too much trial & error involved in solving that game's nonsensical puzzles for it to keep my interest otherwise. I see why it's so revered though, it really is unlike anything else, and the acting, dialogue and soundtrack are all fantastic.

Made it to MGE in CSGO, post rank-nerf. Top 20% of players from what I gather. I feel like getting those extra ranks will be so fucking hard. But I'm already topscoring at MGE, so I feel good. Getting a new computer and a decent connection helps too, maybe I'm already higher than I think.
Anybody here play Inside?
Just finished it and shit is weird as fuck.
Kind of wish there was more answers to all the questions I have, but I enjoyed the storytelling through the environment. Playing as the blob thing was…interesting.

By Rob Go To PostData (or anyone else) can you give an impression of Furi besides fuck furi and ps4 having shit analog sticksIt's kind of a give and take game. It's got a lot of good ideas and sometimes they execute really well, and sometimes they don't execute at all. The boss fights can be very inconsistent. The third boss fight, for example, is awful. The fourth is a lot more fun. Sometimes when you engage in melee, it seems like the enemy can parry you when they shouldn't be able to. But sometimes they can't. It's not inconsistent that often but it is enough that it can get really frustrating. You definitely have those 'I fucked up' moments but you also have those 'this game is cheap as fuck' moments.
idk why but im considering buying it on steam
If you've got nothing else to do, I'd probably recommend it. I like the look of the main character and the world, but I think everything else about the designs is all over the place. The cyberpunk music feels like it's cyberpunk just for the sake of 'that's what nerds are into now,' and I think it would have been much better with a soundtrack matching its El Shadai influence.
heard a cop on the radio talk about kids trespassing on graveyards at night n shit and when he asked them why they were trespassing there the response was

My receiver came in today but I don't have the cables to hook everything up, yet; they come in tomorrow. It is very much overkill for what I need, but whatever. It supports ARC with my TV, has five other HDMI ports, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 4K 60p, 4:4:4, bluetooth, wi-fi, and probably a billion other things I will never use.

Smokey, important thing about the KS8000 that I may not have mentioned but may be important to you; it does not support 3D of any kind. That is a deal breaker to some, but not to me.

Game of the year.
Evan Scribner claims he’s now single after his girlfriend discovered he was “cheating” on her — thanks to the geolocation feature in the addicting scavenger hunt-style cellphone game.
Scribner told The Post his big mistake was playing the game after canoodling with an ex-girlfriend in Bushwick.
The mobile game leads players to virtual creatures located in the real-world, using a phone’s mapping software to record where each Pokemon is captured.
And that means anyone snooping around a player’s phone would be able to see his or her whereabouts at a given time.
“She saw that I had caught a Pokémon while at my ex’s house,” Scribner said.
And when the Sunnyside, Queens resident didn’t have a good excuse as to why he was wandering around his ex’s Brooklyn neighborhood, his gal pal said see you later Feraligatr.
“She found out last night at my house and hasn’t contacted me since then,” Scribner said.

That puzzle is one of the ones you could conceivably figure out, too, because you're in a relatively confined area. When you get to the second year you're exploring a big town having to go all over the place and some of the solutions are just nonsense. Some areas are off camera and you wouldn't even know it was somewhere you could check. It doesn't help that the hit detection is wonky in some places too. Sometimes I knew the answer but still had to click around the area bunch of times with him saying "nope, it's not this thing" until I found the exact spot. If I were on my own I definitely would have figured that wasn't the solution.
So yeah. Guide or just watch on youtube.
