A friend and I found a way to link our entire dorm up through LAN
shit was always popping freshmen year. dancing on kids with those H.O.R.S.E. grenades.
lockout was one of my favorite maps of all time. i could be damn near anywhere on that map, hear the teleporter activate, throw a blind grenade, drop the sticks and hit mans with a on the way to class
oh u want that shotgun? u gon learn today

Subscribed to GB premium last week, watched an old video of them playing original Halo legendary co-op

People hate the Library and it is pretty damn tedious, but the Halo CE campaign is still awesome. I'll even stan for the Anniversary edition that 343 put out on 360 and then updated for the MCC. It looks good, still plays great and is up there with Halo 3 for the best campaign design in the series.
I didn't see some friends for a couple of weeks the holiday that the OG XBOX came out. I showed up at a guy hang out night a couple of days after Christmas and discovered that somehow, they had all decided to get one (which was weird, because they were only into like, NBA Live and Warcraft 2 or whatever before that) so we had 16 player LAN parties that first year. That was an experience back then.

By DY_nasty Go To Postim just now realizing i never wanted a mirrors edge sequelI didn't like the first, so I'm obviously not their audience, but I watched the Giant Bomb quick look of Catalyst and thought it looked awful.
I didn't get into Halo until 3 (possible RIP I guess), but god damn what I played in multi was fun as fuck. And people tell me that 2's multi was better? Yo damn.
hated 3's multi with a passion
equipment, the new melee rules, no more manly dual wielding, trash maps

3 MP was good too.

I'm still kind of curious about Catalyst but it looks like ech
honestly, all of EA's offerings this gen have looked ech to me. I hope BF1 breaks that rut.

I kinda liked Gears multiplayer? I had fun before everyone figured out that the shotgun was stupidly overpowered and every match was just rolling around and blindly firing the shotgun from the hip. I haven't been able to get into multi in any of the sequels since because it never changed, I felt like.
Gears co-op and horde are the best, though.

I think the highest I got was 48 in Rumble Pit. I think I was also like a 46 or something in Team Slayer. The pursuit of 50 had putting in work bruh. Running into a squad of 5 star Generals in Team Slayer was enough to make you consider retirement.

I haven't been able to get into multi in any of the sequels since because it never changed, I felt like.Except the shotgun wasn't "overpowered" in the following games. If anything the overpowered weapon in Gears 1 was the sniper, which was essentially a one shot kill because either you headshot the person or down them.
Gears co-op and horde are the best, though.
but anyway with Gears 2 they introduced stopping power and a Hammerburst that downed people in 3 shots. Changed the boltok pistol to be a 1 body shot -> headshot kill. They also introduced nade tagging to walls, smoke grenades that at first knocked you down and then changed to stunning you, either way still making you vulnerable. Flamethrower that absolutely melted people.
They also made the shotgun weaker. All this carried over to the third game which went on to add more counters to shotgun rushing like an incendiary grenade that had a hitbox bigger than the map itself.
if you got bodied by shotguns it wasn't because they were overpowered in Gears 2/3, it's because you were bad.
At the risk of sounding like someone who plays at rucker, i could have gone pro in halo 2. Played a decent amount with MLG guys but never wanted to work on my teamwork.
I'm still pretty good at 5, average 43 kills in warzone but im an old man now, im not the same.

I had some dude mad as hell that I was beating him in kills because he was near 50 and I wasn't. Had him trying to talk shit about my armor and character choice too lmao (I was the alien guy instead of standard marine).

A lot of people have the raw skill to go pro, it's mainly having to practice and dealing with different personalities that makes certain people decide it's not worth it

Starting off on the road to being a pro is one of the most infuriating things. People that expect your team to be the '96 Bulls or '16 Warriors when you just got into party chat with each other for the first time the day before.

Can't believe people are getting hyped about letting Sony ram them in the ass the same way their cell phone providers do.

Just realized I've had Uncharted 4 from gamefly for like a month now, and haven't really played it. I think I got to Chapter 4 and from what I can remember there was very little "playing" going on. Just completely dropped the game. Sure it gets better as you go, but for now I'm glad I rented it.
Resumed Witcher 3 though. 2much2do

I... uhh... finished the main story, all side-stories, and encounters in The Division. I guess I'm done until the new DLC hits since I was dumb and bought the gold version on release. I haven't ventured into the Dark Zone or done any of the content after the main story, though. From what I hear, there isn't much, though Incursions may be fun?

It's VERY slow early on, but it's the complete opposite once the story build up is done with.

As long as you're able to ignore the love story marital problems parts, it's a great game, though the pacing at times is terrible.

i finished it now and i really don't see how it's a "great game".
80% of it is just mindless climbing that can be done by pressing x repeatedly and and a direction. at times i played it with one hand so i had the other free to text my friend and i progressed just the same, it's not a challenge, incredibly linear so i can't approach it any differently, its just wasting my time. the shooting is average and dull, the encounter offer nothing more than the stuff we have played 10 years ago, the 4-5 puzzles are laughably bad and don't require any skill or thought whatsoever. the story is nicely presented and decently acted, i'll admit that but it's hollywood c-tier execution and shallowness. i went in with an open mind after dismissing 1-3 after like an hour or so but man, it's not great. it does look nice tho.
the thing drags on too, i really had to push myself to finish it, i promised a friend i would since he keeps yapping about it, so i did, but man was i glad it was over. could've cut out like 5 hours of straight climbing and have a couple more exciting things happening. doesn't help that it keeps repeating itself over and over, the "oh shit this thing broke and i almost fell to death" moment that keeps happening every 30 seconds gets really old after the 700st time. the most fun i had with this game was guessing when the jump scare was going to happen, "oh look at this rusty bridge, wonder what happens when i walk over it".
lol they did the one handed thing too, seems like they had the same experience as i did. they made everything look exciting without actually being exciting.
i don't mind games that are so called "glorified movies' with interactions like Until Dawn (although i haven't played that) or something like a visual novel but just cut out all the half assed filler stuff you clearly have no interest in making.
