Figured out that the Steam controller is an adequate replacement for keyboard+mouse for a home theatre-type pc. It has all the normal mouse functions (left/right/middle click, scroll everywhere, forward/back) as well as enough keyboard functions (software keyboard, escape key, page up/down). There may be some other functions available, too, but that was what I figured out on my own.
Might make some sense for that purpose in households that would appreciate something like that.

You could buy Rise of the Tomb Raider for like $10 on the Windows Store and yet still, 98% of copies were purchased on Steam.
Microsoft needs to pack it up, Windows Store is dead. The cheapest Steam version was $30 because of people re-selling codes that came with their GPU. So even in the unlikely scenario that every Steam version bought was a GPU code, people preferred to spend an extra $20 just to not use the Windows Store.

I mentioned it on Twitter, but Kirby Planet Robobot is pretty good. A must-cop if you liked Triple Deluxe.

I'm holding off for a steam sale because of this. No way I am dealing with the windows 10 store. Origin has become somewhat decent, and uPlay... Well it's still shit, but at least it's not like W10 store, which will take out graphical options of games, because it forces all games to run in windowed mode.
DICE have given EA all the justification they need to put them on MP FPS duty for the rest of their days.

Wonder how many millions Bungie and Activision have lost by only making Destiny good months after release
Must be thousands of people like me who just jumped off the train after vanilla, and have no intention of going back regardless of any improvements they make in future expansions, or even sequels

Sony confirms existence of PlayStation 4 Neo
Andrew House has confirmed to the Financial Times that a PlayStation 4 Neo is in development. He also says it won't be shown at E3, and they're not announcing a release date or price yet.

Arizona American Truck Simulator is alright so far. It's just more land mass, but that's what I want. That said, it is yet another dry, deserty state and that's all that's in that game right now. But they're supposed to do Washington next, and I'll be a lot more interested in seeing what that looks like.
By Hitch Go To PostWonder how many millions Bungie and Activision have lost by only making Destiny good months after releaseI gave up after vanilla and haven't gone back to the expansions even though I think about it each time I see it for 30 (mainly cause I will never be able to play the raids) but I would probably try the sequel if the single player portion was improved and at least gave the option for matching for raids (I get why they think you need to know people but at least give the option to lazy ass people like me)

By Kibner Go To PostI would give Destiny a good shake if it had come out on PC. Alas…Their previous excuse was "but we're on 4 platforms so adding another one is too much work"
Now that they're kicking those 10 year old systems to the curb, I wonder what their excuse will be this time around.

By Smokey Go To PostWaiting for Destiny 2 at this point. Destiny 1 is essentially a last gen game, and it shows.Being cross gen is no excuse for how small and few the areas were in Destiny
Especially since they represented the levels as being at least somewhat, if not completely open worlds

I think the thing with Gran Turismo is that it still seems to play like a PS2 game...complete with the same tire sounds. They're going to have a hard time maintaining that brand if they're not willing to match Forza's growth and innovation.
I jumped in after the Taken King and played through the whole thing, it's obvious to see the huge jump in quality once the expansions hit. I stopped a few missions after beating the King when I hit the cap and everything started to get grindy and annoying, but it takes a lot longer to reach that point with the expansions and the ride up to that point was pretty fantastic at times.
So basically, Destiny is great, you guys just happened to play it at the exact wrong time, and skip the exact right time.
Or Virtue's Last Reward.

If the wrong time to play a game is immediately post-release aside from connection issues, something has gone wrong.
Couple of questions about Hitman
Why are Elusive Targets timed, and why do you only get one attempt?
No way of getting a discount, right?

Sure. I didn't touch the game for a long time because of all the complaints I heard post-launch. I'm generally lukewarm on shooters and I only got it because I found the physical version dirt cheap new. But I had a good time with it in its current state.
I'd love for them to abandon Destiny, selfishly.
Missed out on Halo, so Destiny was my first Bungie game, and you can tell instantly how good their shooting controls and UI are. Would rather see that taken to a franchise that hasn't already left a bitter taste.
Only console ADS FPS that comes close to MW2 in my experience, control-wise. Played a couple of other CoDs since then on PS3 and PS4, and even minor issues I have with them just make me long for MW2. They just got it spot on there. Input lag, aim assist, aim acceleration, default sensitivity, all of it was perfect imo.
Its the difference between a game I can pour hundreds of hours into, and one I play for 10 matches. Which is why I wish I'd played the Overwatch beta. Bollocks to spending £40 on a game that I instantly take a disliking to because I have a small issue with the controls.

Bungie's core Halo games are pretty sublime, though I have more mixed feelings on Reach, which I think did bad things for the Halo formula which didn't get corrected until Halo 5. CE, 2, 3 and ODST are some of the best experiences you can have on an Xbox 360.
I really dug Gone Home. It was one of those games that the right people were making the right noises about, and I was like "I wouldn't mind checking that out one day" but I wasn't going to go out of my way to get it. So having it handed to me on a PS+ platter was just about perfect. I wish more games were just...about life in that way.
I hope they give us Firewatch at some point too, I'd love to play that as well but don't see myself paying for it without a steep discount.

Reach was a key down. That's when they dipped into the CoD craze. SP was good tho.
Halo 2 tho. Whew. Will never forget that experience. Shit was the biggest thing poppin at the time. Like...that was an actual event. There aren't too many of those in the gaming industry.

Me and my three roommates played online multi with each other all the time. Our living room had two Xboxes, a Gamecube, a PS2, and three shitty CRT TVs (the one in the middle for the GFs to watch their shows and movies on) so we had a decent setup for it. Tons of fun.

Another fun thing about that setup was when the original Guitar Hero came out. I brought it home and we beat everything but the final tier on Expert that first night. lol Took us another week or two to beat that last tier (damn you Bark at the Moon!).
Mario Party and Super Smash Bros. were other key fixtures in that apartment living room.
I don't remember anything as massive as the Halo 2 launch. It was everywhere. I could go into a 7-11 and buy a copy of the game.
And the game itself was on some other level. The things that Bungie and Halo 2 did for Xbox Live can't be understated. I had fun with some previous Live games like Crimson Skies and MechAssault, but Halo 2 made me feel like I absolutely had to pay for this service.

Playing the Halo series on the highest difficulty was some of the most fun I've had with shooters. Couch Co-op too. Felt amazing clearing that one room in Halo 3 that was all sorts of fuckery.
